Personally, I prefer the new rear fascia over the previous look. I really like the chrome bar that runs the width of the rear and how it separates the tail lights. The front is also awesome and looks a lot better than the previous Fusion, and the previous Fusion is gorgeous to me! The only thing I have to get used to, like you, is the dial shifter. While I see the extra room benefits, taking that shifter out will take some getting used to. Other than that, I would proudly own a 2017 Fusion. Ford definitely got this right all the way around! P.S. My prefered model is the Sport.

I sat in one the other day at the Dealer, and man, that door has SUCH a nice, solid "thunk." Sounds like excellent quality. And I was amazed by the leg room and head room in the rear seats. I'm 6'0 and with the Driver's seat in my position, I climb into the rear and it was still plenty of room with a few extra inches to spare. Very comfortable.

I currently have a 2016 fusion with luxury package. From what I see, there's not a big change from 2016 to 17 aside from the gear shifter and new sync system. One thing I like about my 16 is I can control the air conditioner from the steering wheel. The 17's don't have that feature anymore. Never had a problem with the old sync system either. The more I look at this car the better off I'll be with my 16. Love my car and I'll keep it till I see a new body style.

Great review! I have a 2015 Fusion SE Hybrid. Love it! The gas usage in the hybrid, at least in the non-winter months is great. I am in Canada, and am getting 5.0 L/100 km. (about 45 MPG) in the city. I have told my salesman that I want to test drive the new Sport model, but am not really in the market. Gas in Canada is getting expensive again, which is why I love my hybrid.

Great video Mike. Keep it up. A question, I read somewhere that the dead pedal (left foot rest position) location on the 2017 Fusion was changed, can you check how is the change? Test drove a 2016 recently & the dead pedal is small & kinda awkwardly angled to the right, was not comfortable for my size 13 wide foot! I just don't understand this with Ford, the same is also in the Explorer. The Edge is much better, but the 2015+ have a short dead pedal! Previous models didn't have this problem.

Thanks for the video! I'm right at the point of deciding between a used 2015 Fusion Titanium with all the bells and whistles (also in bronze fire) or a 2017 model, love the front fascia but I agree, the rear doesn't look as good as the old one. Based on your initial impressions, do you think its worth the extra cash to get a 2017? or would I be better off saving a few bucks and going with the 2015? Love the videos man!
@modmatt18 жыл бұрын
Thanks for posting and providing the extra details like the dial shifter putting itself in part when the drivers door opened. I actually like the updated rear and think the front is a step back - less aggressive. Glad they didn't mess with it too much though overall. Maybe an extra inch of rear legroom would have been nice, but understand it just a mild refresh and finding that room would not have been possible with it being an update.

I wish the led light strip was continuous across the back like on some of the ford Edges. It's nice that its continuous on the titanium, but it would be great if it was on the other trim levels too. That crome bar is a little off-putting. Other than that the '17 Fusion is a gem of American ingenuity!

Hey just want to start by saying love the channel and the fact you are from PGH! That means all of your reviews usually include a segment where you discuss the handling in the inevitable winters (great because I drive home to PGH all year). I am upgrading from a 2011 Jetta SE and would like something larger with more tech features. I am considering a Ford Taurus SHO or an Impala. Which would you recommend in terms of passenger space & comfort, power/speed and safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and LUMBAR support for my back (one thing I AM looking for)? Also, do you recommend any specific model years? Thanks again and keep on making these awesome reviews!! Safe driving.

I have a 15 ford fusion SE with the MyFord Touch package and I love it. I personally like the look of the old system better but I agree this looks much more user friendly. I didnt see enough differences to get a 2017 from what I have. I do wish Ford would allow everyone the option to upgrade to Sync 3, even for a $1000 doller price though, I feel like they kind of just abandon us that dont want to get the new Fusion. Also why is there only 2 options on the right screen? Its almost like they updated the center screen with sync 3 but left the ones above the steering wheel the old version, and took a bunch of stuff out.
@ronaldconiglio99428 жыл бұрын
After looking over the '17 Fusion for a little while I agree with you as far as one point- I Like the flatter look of the '15-'16 front end better than the '17's more wrap-around front, and I prefer the SE horizontal-bar grille to the Titanium's mesh look. I drove a couple of new SE's ( 1.5 's ) today and was very impressed with the ride and handling even though they were equipped with only '17 wheels and tires. I'd appreciate any comments you might be able to offer re how you would compare the Fusion's driving dynamics to the 1.8T Passat SEL which has 18' wheels and tires. One observation I've made myself is how the VW 1.8 develops its torque at 1500 rpm vs the Fusion's 4000+ number. I thought the Fusion 1.5 was a little anemic by comparison. Thank You.

I own the 2009 Ford fusion and I just got the 2016 Hyundai sonata sport let me say this I love the new fusion but with that sticker price and no GPS and no Sony sounds system the back seats feel cramped compare to my fusion now and the sonata will kill this one in space inside and trunk space the only good thing this car has going for it it's the all wheel drive system that's about it and I hate the new back of the fusion I prefer the 2015 for the price there is better deals out here but that's just my opinion and this was great review keep up the good work.

Really appreciate your videos ... your comment that you are considering upgrading your Fusion with LED running lights prompts me to ask which after-market LEDs you would recommend and whether Ford offers a factory upgrade installed by dealer, so I don’t have to worry about my local mechanic screwing up the electrical system. I just bought a brand new 2016 Fusion and watched your videos first to help me decide which options I wanted. I actually like the 2016 body style better than the 2017. BTW, are there after-market packages that are available just for front, just for rear, just for fog ??? or are they only available as an “all 3” package ??? I’m mainly interested in the line of LEDs under the Headlights . . . and maybe the Tails - if you can, include your preference on this. Thanx

I know this is an old review, but a coworker just bought a new 2020 Fusion Titanium this past weekend, and i had no idea these were still being made. (Seems 2020 is the final edition) It's a very nice car, and to my eyes still looks better than any of its direct competitors. Sad to see this one go, it would have been interesting to see what Ford could do for the next generation. Who would have thought the company who made cars available to the everyman around the world would decline to compete in every possible automotive category? They have the sports car category covered with several flavors of Mustang..and even a supecar (GT) but no midsize sedan which used to be the bread and butter for any carmaker doing business in North America? For the record I drive a 2016 GTI...not contributing to the all crossover/SUV all the time world we now live in. ;)
