hi pal, your channel got recommended to me by you tube, great video by the way. Coincidentally I rebuild engines everyday, Im from the UK as well, couple of things I do different to you, but still has the same result, a running engine, lol. For once i'm pleased you tube sent me a channel that i'd enjoy watching. I've rebuilt so many of these, for various reasons, head gasket failures, wet belt failures, and when the belt fails, they DO spin the cam lobes on the camshafts, so be careful with that if you haven't come across it yet. Also done a few block failures, due to cylinder wear, because of lack of lubrication on the under side of the piston. They suggest using a torque multi=plier for torquing the crankshaft bolt up..... its called a dewalt 1/2 inch gun for me. never had an issue, and probably rebuilt 80-90 of these engines within last 2-3 years. . just subbed, cheers.

Quite impressive work to be carrying out on the side of the road ,is that the 2.2 very clattery engine but good I have one with 330 k miles on it, quite noisy in comparison to my peugot 2.0 blue and other fiat 2.3 ducato

Not a bad price for new head and fitting kit that eh. Could always keep that head and get it welded as a spare incase you happen to buy a broken van in the future if they don’t want it as an exchange. Nice job.

Yeh unfortunately it was a surcharge on it. But yes similar price to just the head set etc from fords

Just love watching these vids …. But don’t have a clue about engines but…. At 13.16 in the video, is that some sort of welding it’s had in the past??

Thankyou 😁, think it’s a bit of sealant left from the timing chain cover

Nice job just wondering if you did another compression check once the new head was installed.

Hi mate Quick question oiling the the bolts will that affect the torque settings as there will be slight difference due to resistance in the bottom of the threads ? Cheers
@themobilemechanic19927 ай бұрын
Just creates less friction and prevents the bolt skipping when torquing it down.

it very much affects the torque of the bolt
@grmpyoldjock82516 ай бұрын
@@bencosturbz7755 kinda thought it would as It might cause pressure/resistance with oil and help work the bolt back out ?

All that work will it all go back a run plus what would be the cost
@themobilemechanic1992Ай бұрын
On this one I think for the sake of £1000 extra and same about of work should of just replaced the engine but same result in the end a running motor
