Thanks again for you time and knowledge!! When I was younger I liked road racing bikes. Had people tell me id be good at dragging them more. After cars (strip and street) just lost interest in drag racing in general. A couple of years ago a friend had me try his 89 Fj 1200. It was fun for a couple of runs but not for me. I was 5ft 3in 98lb until my early 20s and I was told to race HORSES !?!?? (cant stand them!!) Now ill be 51 next month 5"6 at 120lb and still like curves more, O well enjoyed and look forward to how a drag bike works. Thanks again!!

Hello Miguel, for daily driving we set the bikes up to be level, or raised a bit in the rear (slightly nose-heavy) by lowering the front forks to match the rear drop from the link install. The bike will handle/brake more precisely, and be less subject to head shake/wobbles etc. Here is more info. on our VertKit install on the BMW S1000RR, you can follow these guidelines to adjust your 750. Some of these self-proclaimed geniuses that make videos out of their garage and work on bikes in the dirt, don't understand that this is a drag race modification only. These guys will remove one rotor off the front to show off their stock ass front wheel but cringe at the thought of taking a little material off the brake pad. That's the kind of secrets that drag racers have pushed the limits on for years to win races. Keep the videos coming. Still waiting on an explanation of how that clutch cushion works. LOL

I am NOT going Drag Racing... BU... I have a rather short inseam -- 'complicated' by 7 major leg surgeries that have reduced my range of motion and my knee strength. AND on the FZ1, the factory placed the foot pegs directly at the point where my ANKLES should be when my feet are on the ground... So I need to lower the seat yet still have enough cushioning for daily riding... Can I raise the fork-tubes by an inch, or so, and drop the rear by about the same amount, with an adjustable link, without 'destroying' good handling on twisty mountain roads? I WISH there was a reasonable way to simply lower the mounting point for the tail-section sub-frame, and fiddle a bit with 'set-backs' for the foot controls... but that doesn't seem possible. I really enjoy your videos!! Even though I am not Racing anyone, I still pick up a lot of adjustments and ideas to make my bike 'better'...

Yes. If you drop the front and rear the same amount, the bike will lose a bit of trail in the front end and actually turn a bit quicker.

I run the chain on the tight side. Chain link height is all the slack I allow, about 0.5 to 0.625 inches. The shifting is better, and wheelies are better - hahaha

Dear Brock, at the min 35:06 of this video you say that this "window link" can also raise your bike. This would mean a shorter link than OEM (142mm). Can you please confirm that and specify how shorter can i it go? thanks

That is a general statement regarding the fully adjustable design of our Window Links. On the 2017 GSX-R1000 -*specifically* the link will run into the cat if the bike is raised. If an aftermarket full system is used, the bike can be raised, but the adjustment rod must be shortened for any substantial change. Anyway, i really believe that a adjustable link could be very useful in track racing because it would allow you to play with height but in particular with suspension progressiveness. Moreover, it would be fast, easy and cheaper than having a stock of "Yoshi" dogbones that cost a lot and take more time to be fitted. If you look at MotoGp, they all have an adjustable link.

@@ubbaracingdepartment9892 Your bike doesn't know where it's wheels are spinning. If you fill out the form, engineering might have a shorter adjustment rod for you? We make lower and raise configurations for the H2/BMW and a couple others, but that's because their geometry allows it. With the gixxer, it can't happen with a single rod length.

With the stock (small diameter) head pipes, the bike will lose top-end power if the SET headpipe crossover valves do not continue to function as normal.

@Ivg - Lowering the rear will straighten the headlight. Some guys run the strap with a small amount of tension to direct the headlight where they want it to land.

Some people believe so, but we don't find that to be the case at the track. With the rear end raised, the rider has a higher cg - anything that lowers the rider (cut seat, etc...) will lead to less wheelies.

These had two side links with an adjustment nut in the middle. I can tell yours are very well made. I didn't know you had a lower link available until I seen this video. Hi, when you inspect clearance, is it more appropriate to remove the shock springs to check? With link removed its not how it operates.

That would depend upon what the major obstruction on your bike is. Will the shock bottom out before other hard parts on the chassis? Etc...

Can your links be used to raise the bike slightly? I switched to a different size tire and it lowered the rear of my bike about 1/2". I'd like to sdjust the rear back to stock rather than lower the front to match...

Out of the box - not usually as they are configured as "lowering links". That said, some bikes do allow raise and lower and some links can be custom configured with a shorter adjustment rod. Hey I'm trying to lower my 19 gsxr. I can flat foot it. But my ass can't get my leg over it. I got up to a 4 inch drop in the back. I noticed if mash my ch3st to the tank I can do it. Should I lower both parts equal. Front to rear? Will it affect my geometry. Bike rides amazing. Other than my short legs.

As a general rule, we like to have the bike as level as possible as trail changes on the front end can cause irregular handling after such extreem changes on the rear. Make sure you are prepared with one of our adjustable kickstands as the OEM will no longer function correctly.

Check the codes in dealer mode and compare them to your manual - the bike will tell you what it thinks is wrong.

It will show you how to place the bike in dealer mode to display the codes, then cross-reference the codes with other manual's definitions to determine exactly what the bike thinks is wrong and what needs to happen to repair, so the codes will not return. Or, let you local Suzuki dealer handle.

Since it's throttle by wire - the tension exists only to make you feel comfortable as a rider. Feels like a perfect pull and release...even if it's only a radial potentiometer.

What size wrenches are you using to tighten the lowering link ?

@Tae Tae - 5/8 and 3/4 open-end wrenches. (Material used is not available in metric sizes) Please remember one side has a left-hand thread - see instructions. LOWER also means direction to LOOSEN the jam nuts.

owwwww that eye looks sore! Swingarm angles are great to get right, on a TRACK machine designed to enter, settle, and exit corners at the absolute quickest way. On bikes for drag racing? Throw all that information out the window. haha

@Future - what I think most about is how telling the same old story and 'hoping' for a different result has resulted in a 90% decrease in sportbike sales over the last 10 years. I personally don't believe that quietly standing back and watching sportbikes die out completely is the best approach and would suggest a similar thought process to any shops that feel like educating the consumer is bad for business. I assure you that having no customers is far worse for business.
