Thank you. My Great Uncle Robert Barclay is buried there. A member of the Royal Rifles of Canada. He died as a Japanese POW October 1942 at the age of 24.

Thank you. One of the better memories of my trip to HK. A fine memorial to the men who so courageously fought to defend HK against the Japanese. Although it's too bad that the high rises now block the view of the ocean. People just don't care about the old traditions anymore.

Dear grandfather, Anthonius Bernardus Ouwens, and all others over there, I never knew you , but thy are my grandfather and I often think of you, how much pain and suffering you had to go through like all those lying there in silence, why ? Always the same lies about war and he who defends freedom and liberty have to often pay the highest price. Are there really winners? I have missed you all my life, I had often dreams about you and they were true. My hart breaks every time i think of what the family had to go through in the Japanese concentration camps and you? Were you in Japan tortured and moore worse? We do not know. Maybe for the better. Grandma, your little Nellie is still alive, she has become hundred years, after all, can you believe it. Your daugther is alive but had to live with lots of pain due to these first years in those horrible camps. And me, het gaat wel, sometimes this sometimes that. I wish no moore wars for anyone, but this world has gone mad after all those lessons in the past there has not been learned enough yet, it seems. It makes me very sad. I hope you are well in heaven and if it exists we will one day meet again when time will come. And time will come, for all of us. Rest in peace dear grandfather, and all souls on Sai Wan. God bless you.
