This Porsche Macan S, owned by Matt's housemate Nick, has been modified slightly with a "no-name" brand catback exhaust, Michelin snow tires for winter ski trips, and COBB Tuning's new Accessport and software. No way i've been in a c63 2013 it was plastic everywhere.. the S class was fully leather though. mercede's new lineup 2016+ have much better interior compared to older models.. if you optioned the full leather

The macan s drives magically. It feels like a raised sports car, very easy to handle and full of fun. It feels more fun than driving lots of sports cars.

The Macan shares less than 30% of it's parts with the Q5. Even the mounting points on the frame have been modified by Porsche for better chassis balance and a lower center of gravity.

I just bought a 17 GTS from a Porsche Dealer last week. They said it's only 14 non-essential parts it shares with the Q5. The rest is of the "shared" is modified and redesigned. So many of these idiot youtubers keep saying it's on the same "platform" when it's barely the case when you break it down.

Andrew beavers Still loving my Macan. One year is about to come up and it’s run beautifully. Zero issues outside of a wheel bearing that had to be replaced, in warranty though so no issue. Outside of that had my dealership put in a tune and lowered air suspension, car absolutely rips.

The Macan S and the lower Macans are almost 80 Percent Audi built by them. If you want a Real Porsche you need to buy the higher priced Macan GTS Twin turbo or the Turbo models those models have about 95 percent on to on Porsche built Porsche engineered just letting you know.

Matt, the base/standard Macan has a 2.0L 4-cylinder single turbo, the S has the 3.0L 6-cylinder Twin turbo, as does the GTS.

If you get a chance, drive a Macan Turbo. It's insanely fast for what it is. The launch control is crazy lol. 400+hp, 4 wheel drive. It's awesome dude

Small correction here, base Macan has the VW corporate EA888 2.0 liter turbo 4 with Porsche-specific tuning. Macan S has the 3.0 liter.

a few weeks ago I drove a macan gts to mammoth from LA. I don't know how you got 21mpg. I could only manage 15mpg without a box. yes, sustained high speed driving was a factor but I honestly didn't expect it to have worse MPG than my V8 E92 M3 on the highway.

gothops154 I'm not Matt, but you need to see the f pace in real life. It's quite a lot bigger in comparison to the Macan. As far as the looks go, the R sport in the best looking, the other trims just don't do justice and make the car look oddly round for, some angles. Personally I don't feel it's an apples to apples comparison. Macan has a sportier drive, and honestly feels better inside too. The jag is larger and even then I'd go with a a Porsche. Heck even a used one. Qualitatively and reliability POV, especially after sales just isn't up there like Porsche.

gothops154 Generally reviews say this: the F-Pace is between the Macan and Cayenne in size. The F-Pace feels like a RWD sports vehicle where the Porsches feel AWD. Nothing will beat the driving dynamics and transmission and refined nature of the Macan but the F-Pace feels more like a RWD sports car and is cheaper at the expense of interior quality.

How do you think this compares to the F-Pace S you drove? The F-Pace also has a spot on driving position and good communication from the chassis and steering as well. Probably a bit cheaper too?

The F-Pace is great. You get a bit more for your money with the F-Pace, meaning the top-trim F-Pace is the same price as the Macan S, give or take. So you get things like adaptive cruise, and some extra leather and gadgetry for your money with the F-Pace. Dynamically they are similar. F-Pace is quicker out of the box, Macan has the better gearbox and better steering (although F-Pace is very good). FPace has better brakes, and feels a bit lighter on its feet, although they are about the same weight. It's a draw for materials to me, and F-Pace has the better stereo (although I haven't heard a Macan with burmeister, only bose). Honestly I think you'd be very happy with either. The Macan very much feels "like a Porsche." if that's what your looking for.

Why do you have such bad fuel in the states? In Germany we have fuel with up to 102 octane. Available at most "Aral" gas stations. Also we have 98 octane fuel avalaible at all gas stations.
