Not bad I have the 5.7 in my charger but honestly to me they don't feel very impressive compared to the gm engines. I'm trading my 12 Denali for a newer one and I really want the 6.2. I heard the new ones are losing 450 pounds that should help with fuel economy and acceleration.

If you think they dont feel impressive, prepare for disappointment. I owned 5 gm trucks before my Ram. This video was awful in terms of times. But regardless, i hope the new gm trucks are better because you couldnt pay me to own a current gen one.

Slower or faster than your 6.2 ? Seem slower by a little
@mxer6527 жыл бұрын
Jeff G Yeah, it's definitely slower. Having the 3.92 gears helps it get going quicker. My 6.2 had 3.23? gears so it never felt as snappy as this Ram but especially once your at speed you can tell the Ram is heavier and lacks some power. I will say that the ZF 8 speed in the Ram is way better then GMs 8 speed.

bboyce536 I have a 2017 6.2 with 3.42 , it's not snappy either, it feel like an economy mode. But the power is amazing ( coming from a tuned ford 5.0 with 3.55). One thing I observed with the Torque pro apps is the 6.2 have a linear 1:1 ratio on pedal position vs butterfly intake position. My ford wasn't linear, less throttle pedal travel for more butterfly intake opening but decreasing. You're zf 8 speed look way quicker than Chevy 8 speed

Ford has always been known to map their throttles weird where the first 1/4 did a ton then after that it didn't seem to do much. My Ram is fairly linear, but the biggest thing I notice is that the trans programming on the Ram is not as aggressive at finding top gear as the GM trucks do. I always hated how, like you said, the GM always felt like it was in Eco mode until you gave it the boot. I guess there's pros and cons to both ways. My Ram consistently gets roughly 20% worse fuel economy. Although I haven't taken very much weight on it as its still new and its cold with winter gas. I hope it gets better but I still bet the GM trucks are a good 15% better.

bboyce536 my 6.2 is by far the most economic truck I had, I’m 15% more economic than my 5.0. The slow throttle is growing on me, make the ride smoother but once in a while I which for more response. Now it’s winter I surely appreciate the smooth power delivery. I rented this one for : years so I have plenty of time to see the new dodge n Chevrolet. Ford isn’t getting my money anytime soon. So much trouble for a new (back then) truck. I’ve done a 0-60 when new with bf ko 2, wasn’t able to have less than 6.42 on the solo gps. I suspect the 3rd shift required to get to 60 with the 3.42 to make it slower to 60 but man it’s quick from 60 to limiter

Why keep buying new cars

I lease short term and my last truck was bought back under lemon law. Between having at least 2 vehicles in my house, usually around every year I get something different. Also some of my videos are from test drives.
