Thanks for providing such a detailed review. The comparison of trim levels with visual snapshots to highlight some of the differences was a great feature.

I purchased the 2017 trd 4x4 sport. It has been perfect so far, no complaints. After having a v8 for so many year with the Ram, the v6 makes more sense as I do not haul anything to heavy that often. I keep seeing complaints about the lack of power, as for me, the power is just right. I definitely do Not miss my old gas guzzzling v8 for anything.

GREAT REVIEW:: We just bought 2017 TRD Off Road and have watched/read many reviews. This review is one of the very best and most complete. The use of mini-slideshows to illustrate the various models is particularly helpful. . . . . . thanks a lot !

CarConfections, is there Apple Car Play and Android Auto available on the Tacoma yet? Or do we have to wait several years later?
@CarConfections8 жыл бұрын
+Matthew's Car Corner Toyota currently has no plans to roll out Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to any of their models.

2017 Tacoma last year 4cyl 5spd, they will be collectors cars later especially in Super White which I now have. 4th tacoma now owned ever configuration including a TRD 6 and I will always be in love with the low maintenance bullite proof 4 cylinder. They will last twice as long as any six and get the job done. If you want 200plus hp IMO buy a full sized rig. Cool video. Google any 84-87 Toyota and any clean one in AutoTrader Classic will be 20k plus even a salvage title not bad for a 30 plus year old truck which originally sold for 10k. You do the math!!! Barrett Jackson just auction off a 89 IFS 4wd 140k original Miles for 20k plus. 2017 last year 4cyl 5sp is best long term investment obviously in 4wd.

Best review I’ve found yet!!! Please make a 2018 next. Also try and get a better external mic on your camera. It will help not pick up the sound of the highway. Good job though. That dealership should pay you.

I bought a 2017 Tacoma and have a hum noise when I reach speeds of 36 mph or higher. I took it back to the dealer and they said that the 2017 models have less sound dampening (insulation) than the 2016 models. I don't know if that is the reason for the noise, but I would have bought a 2016 model instead if I knew that. Not sure why Toyota used less insulation in the 2017 to begin with.
@jiblyjably8 жыл бұрын
Just ask the dealer to install some insulation
@ericdanella20038 жыл бұрын
Well Toyota better do something about it, it is annoying. Hate to have them taking it apart though too. Going back to the dealership tomorrow in fact.
@jiblyjably8 жыл бұрын
I mean if you go into it with that attitude you're probably not gonna get it done for free but if you go in and say "Look I just paid 30k+ on this truck, would it kill you guys to throw in some more sound insolation?" You might get a deal.

The good thing about the Tacoma is that all the great things that were once part of the 4 runner are in the Tacoma. The 4Runner, to me, has a ugly front grill with protruding head and tail lights. The Tacoma still has a more seamless look to it. The 4Runner has all the window controls up on the upper lever of the door, which is out of the way and makes no sense. The Tacoma's controls are where they belong and that is in the middle of the door. The 4Runner's interior looks incredibly dated, even with the limited model. Everything is plastic with about the smallest touch screen of any SUV on the market. In the big picture. If you are a 4 Runner fan of the earlier years before they turned into something that looks like it belongs on the moon, the Tacoma is what you want. Great looks with superior reliability .
@pessimystica6 жыл бұрын
Bob Oliver lol.... i know what you mean. I noticed the new Ravs, Highlanders, & 4Runners all look more futuristic now. I'm looking to trade my Rav4 for a newer Tacoma. I miss driving a truck & having a V6, plus the gas mileage is better on these midsize trucks now than they were 5 years ago when i got my RAV.

YOu guys are F%^*ing me up. Your reviews just made me decide to purchase my second vehicle this year. First the 2018 accord sport and now the Tacoma. Problem is I'm waiting for a dealership to get the 2019 cement grey. I'm ready to buy.
