I remember the first oil change on my 09 cbr600rr. I think they had the incredible hulk put it on. My oil filter wrench wouldn't budge it, I had to punch a screw driver through it to get it off, it was ridiculous.

Whats the engine oil capacity ?
@8OneOfTheNobodies84 жыл бұрын
Funny thing .. I got a free magazine when I ordered some parts and there was a test showing that you get most of the old oil out when the engine is 100% cold.. :D
@micheal493 жыл бұрын
You want some oil in the top of the engine or you get scouring, scorching, and assorted other damage.

Hii. The z900 uses a cr9eia spark plug. Can v a cr9eix plug be used
@SimpleSimon4 жыл бұрын
I would stick with the CR9EIA-9 as they come with a gap of 35mm and have a Platinum electrode.

Is the oil filter for the z900 the same with the 650cc er6n???

2021 Z900. Tried using the 65mm ring wrench to remove the factory oil filter. es no bueno The ring wrench simply turns around and around, like it's too big and loose by a couple of millimeters. Any suggestions for alternative methods (other than the trusty screwdriver). Also, there was no o-ring on the drain plug. Is it supposed to have an o-ring?
@micheal493 жыл бұрын
Got a 63mm ring. It also just slips around the filter. Tried the wrench thing. Nothing doing. The filter refuses to come off. Any suggestions?

Did you ever get it off, I found some times with hard to get off oil filters I found to let the bike warm up before you drain the oil will allow the filter to come off easier. Thanks for Subscribing.

@@SimpleSimon It took a local mechanic with delicate touch and a cheater bar to get it off. Let's just say his language was a bit colorful.

Was told by kawi dealership not to use synthetic until a couple of thousand of miles because it will damage the clutch and also cause it to slip
@SimpleSimon5 жыл бұрын
I have heard of some synthetic oil causing slippage in the z900, the manual shows synthetic oil as being ok. I have used mobile one oil in all my bikes with no issue.I have put 500 miles so far on this oil in the Z with no problem so far.
@adamking54725 жыл бұрын
@@SimpleSimon Yeah I've put 1800 miles on mine all with synthetic no problem but when I called yesterday to get my oil changed there they told me that. Probably has very minimal impact on the clutch

3.8 quarts...? I thought its 4.2 quarts

I always go by the oil level measurement in the sight window on the bike.
@existenz554 жыл бұрын
I put 4 litres in my bike and it’s at the top of the sight windows. (That’s with filter change and filling the filter with oil before putting it on the bike).

hey muhammad & fellow viewers. According to Kawasaki's $120+ Official service manual (which is just plain awful btw). It's blatantly designed to convince Kawasaki customers to opt for paying a dealer to perform all but the most basic of services on their motorcycles. That said, when changing the Z900's engine oil, the maximum recommended amount of oil to put in is 3.8 U.S. Quarts. (3.4 Quarts if NOT Changing the filter) but who would do that on their new bike... Just like SImon mentioned though, the best method to ensure proper engine lubrication without risk of over-filling, is to use the sight window & a paddock stand. When I did my first oil change I started by using approx. 3.6 Quarts. Ran the engine for 15 minutes, let it cool down completely and then added another 150-200 ml until the oil fill window was approximately 75% filled up with oil. I also partially filled the filter, prior to installation. The last thing you'd wanna do is just put in all 4 quarts & end up over filling your engine. Thanks for the video Simon. You forgot to include your affiliate links btw. Keep up the good work
