Thanks for a great video, I changed my spark plugs at the weekend seemlessly. I noticed that you can remove the tank conpletely, there is a socket under the seat in a rubb er protectorand you can disconnet the fuel hose on the inlet for the engine rater than on the tank.

On my 2016 ZX6r we don’t have to fully take the tank off. The tank has a hinge on the battery side of it and I just prop the tank up with a vacuum pole or piece of wood against the steering stem and go to town on the airbox and spark plugs for service. Was hoping the same could be said for a Z900 if I decide to switch over to Standard riding position ; (

My z900 wont start, doesnt even tick over, im hoping its the spark plugs and not the starter motor, just replaced battery no change, it's going to cost an arm and leg in labour charge dam it. Great vid i'll definately invest in tools to do work myself.

CHECK YOUR SIDESTAND. The switch can keep your bike from starting if it thinks the sidestand is down. If the problem seems to have come out of nowhere, this might be an easy fix.

@@HilltopZombieShop my bike has ressurected itself, it's starts fine now, I did think something might be up with the kickstand sensor. Something definitely not right but glad it fires up now🏍💨

I tried that pump, it seemed to shed some of the lining into my gas tank. Must be cheap material and it left this little red plastic as if it was coming off somewhat but thanks.

Just curious how many miles you had on the bike before replacing the plugs or was there another reason to change them?
@HilltopZombieShop Жыл бұрын
Just followed the owners manual. I don’t think it was 100% necessary

After you remove the bolts from the gas tank, is there enough leeway to access the ignition without removing the entire gas tank?

FyI tanks fully sealed only issue if any is the fuel line just needs kinked off

V-twin is reliable or this inline 4 is reliable.
@HilltopZombieShop Жыл бұрын
Both are reliable. They both have pros and cons. V-twin has more torque and it's easier to change the plugs. 4 cylinder has more top end power, doesn't vibrate as much, but can be a pain to work on.

Hello Have you change the collant ever for z900 ?
@HilltopZombieShop4 жыл бұрын
No. I just added a little after the break in. It was low from dealer, but since I added it, it hasn't lost any and it maintains temperature well. It is hard to get to though. I had to put a piece of vinyl tubing on the bottom of a funnel to get it into the reservoir.

WTF, all that mess to replace sparkplugs? I'm going tu buy a new bike, and after watching that, I know I'll don't buy this motorcycle even if I like it... Incredible..., on my ZR7, It was just a single tool and 3 min operation...

Cheap bastards. It's illegal to steal intellectual property like that. If you can afford this bike and insurance then you can pony up a few bucks for a manual that took a lot of time and R&D to develop. You can find it for as low as $75 from actual dealers.
