For the sound tube removal put the car on your lift and come at it from under the car. Use a long extension and swivel extension and you can get to it. It's still a PITA but that worked for me.

Bill what kind of tuner did you use you left that out and what hp would you get on a 2018 and how would it compare to the steeda 121mm that uses the stock lower part of the air box I think its what's on there drag car?

The video was about the JLT so we focused on that. My car was tuned with an SCT tuner and picked up 25 rwhp with the JLT and the tune. I have not done a comparison with the Steeda.

This is more of a hot intake than a "cold air intake". Your stock airbox is 100% better so dont waste money getting this and instead spend it on suspension mods or on a tune!

Filter only will not, the trap is further back in the box on the inlet side. This kit will remove it as will most cold air kits.

I don't understand the comment that sealing the box is not necessary. The whole idea of a cold air kit is to prevent the hot air from under the hood entering the intake. That's what the seal does.

I’m not bill but I personally recommend a Lund racing tune preferably e85. That with an exhaust will put you over 500 to the wheels

I agree. I traded a 17 in on a new 18 that came with magneride and its awesome! The cruising ride is so much smoother and softer and it still handles exceptionally well

That nut is a pain like he says, but the plug for the firewall is no treat either. It's hard plastic, and a b***h to work with back in there. Put the heat gun to it for a bit to make it malleable then it'll pop in like it should. Also, that duct meant to connect to the front stock inlet doesn't go on quite as easy as Bill makes it seem. Not a pain like the sound tube stuff, but not the breeze he makes it seem. Outside of these issues, this system is more than worth it! Looks good and works great once it's in there.

Alternatively, make sure the sound tube is no longer attached to the brake line bracket thing and just yank it out with force!

Yes a tune is required. It will run very poorly and trip a wrench light without it.

Jared Davis I have an Ecoboost. The only mod I’ve done under the hood was a Roush Intake. It doesn’t give you any power but, if you’re into it, it does give you much more turbo sound. A considerable amount.

I have a 2015 ecoboost and it all depends on how much your willing to spend but, must-do's will have to be a bigger intercooler and a tune. (The guy I uses required a accessport) I personally use Adam from Tune+. Hes the best in the business for the ecoboost platform. adamtuned.myshopify.com/ is his website. He will recommend whats best for you if you email him, lots of stuff on sale right now. Good luck on your Eco beast! And if you want a turbo sound I would invest in a BOV and skip the intake to save some cash.

The stock CAI is all you need. You will gain little if any hp on the 2018 GT with an aftermarket CAI.

Stop being so smuck.... There is more to be gained with these motors. They aren't maxed out. The engine was revised and is much different than the outgoing "5.0" (actually a 4.9). Whenever an engine is put out for the production cars it must meet certain laws and emissions standards. They let alot to be gained with this engine and I am sure they will tweak it in a future release. As far as your tune comment.... The tune doesn't make the HP, the CAI does. You cant run the tune without the CAI right? The tune just allows your engine to adjust properly. The HP gained with just the tune would be the hp the tune gives. If you retune after the CAI then whatever is gained goes to the CAI. If you are bone stock and add a tune and CAI all at once, then it would be wrong to say all your gains go to the CAI alone.
