My 2017 Chevy Suburban is similar to this (comes out of the same factory in Texas). It is amazingly useful. Right now my whole family is home, and all eight of us have gone several places together in total comfort and safety (we have the bench second row seat, not the captains chairs). Previously we would have to take TWO cars to go anywhere. How efficient is that? NOT! We also can haul 4X8 sheets of plywood with the second and third row seats folded flat, and when my wife and I go road-tripping there is plenty of room for us to sleep in back. I love the vehicle!

While i agree with the other comment, yes, yes u can fit that plus a whole lot more. I have the 2001 yukon xl slt model & with the 3rd row folded flat against the second row i can fit 5 full sheets of plywood plus stack shit on top. But i wld prefer using the roof racks so as to not mess my interior up u know.my truck may be old but i wld like to keep her in good shape. The killer for me is the 10-13 mpg i get . Really sucks filling that 33.5 gal tank up every 4 days or so. Plus i commute from Baltimore to DC every day for work. The gas needle looks like clock hands how it just drinks the gas. But i wldnt trade my yukon for anything. Like i commented before i may invest in a little cummins engine when the stock one goes,but honestly i just hit 145k on my 01 & its running like brand new. Of course i am only the 2nd person to own the vehicle.

To enter the third row seats, the second row seats are actually folded by lifting up the side lever once to fold the seatback, then AGAIN to tumble the seat forward. The strap on the back performs the same two functions but is designed for the third row passengers to use for exiting the vehicle. Of course, on this particular model you can also use the power buttons to perform the same function.

My family had a 2003 gmc safari and it broke so we searched for used 8 seaters and we found a 2003 Yukon xl painted with rhino liner and some 20 inch wheels,a loud exhaust(idk what model but it has leather seats and a sunroof and all back windows are 2x limo tint(front are just 1x limo

I'd take this Yukon/Suburban XL over the Ford Expedition. (Not a Ford fan) only Ford I'd ever buy is the Taurus SHO, Mustang and F-150 The Toyota Sequia is still the best in my opinion (I am a Toyota fan).

mountainhobo cargo numbers are irrelevant if the storage space is awkward. The best part about the suburban/Yukon is that the space is box like. It's a big flat rectangle space. Behind the third row of a mini van is super awkward and not functional space as it dips down into the floor instead of being a flat surface.

Omar Butt Minivan cargo space is incredibly box-like. It's also not "awkward" like a 3' jump to the floor of an SUV like the Suburban and has huge side doors for easy access. That space behind the third row you're referring to (the tub that drops down) is made so the third row in many vans can effortlessly fold into them, creating the flat floor.

Bought a new Kia Sedona today. Live in the midwest and FWD vehicles get around here fairly well on paved roads which is all it will ever be driven on. Will get snow tires this November and the wife won't have any issues.

I have the 2001 xl slt & with the single exception of bad gas mileage i wouldn't trade it for NOTHING. I wld even be happy with 20-21 mpg however im only getting about 10-13 mpg at best with the 5.3 ltr gas version.i may invest in a cummins swap eventually, but for now im good however that 33.5 gallon tank digs into my pocket every 4 days , but she's been good to me so i put up with her shit 😁

In the context of my comment. My former suburban has less power than the transit that replaced it. 295hp vs 320hp in the transit. I’m not sure which transit comes with 162hp. A stock 320hp transit will outrun a 355hp suburban because it makes a broader power curve. You just need to turn off traction control and build about 4 psi of boost. Any more and you will get axle tramp.

I'm sorry, but the modern Yukon XL/Suburban is crap. They used to be reliable and reasonably affordable to the average family, but it's now neither. They now have terrible reliability and they cost $60,000 to $90,000. They've become so expensive, yet they still ride and drive like garbage trucks, and they have tech stuck in the 2000s. I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would buy one of these.
