Some people say the '18 is ugly, but I didn't like the hood lines on the '15 thru '17, but as soon as Ford changed that with lowering the slope of the hood I fell in love with the car...add to that all the new performance and it makes it a great upgrade over 2nd gen Coyote cars for sure! Mine is a base A10 w/ 3.55's...PP cars are 4k more and only .2 quicker, I'm happy with mine, especially since its also E85 tunes/JLT cai/Steeda x piped. Its fun to stomp on 3 pedal mafia cars with ease.

Is yours a 301A or 300A? You can still get drag mode with the 301A I believe

I'm a fox body guy and even I'll admit I liked the automatic. That being said, I'll still never buy one lol. Call it nostalgia, call it what you want, I don't care; I'll bang gears 'til I die.

So is the drag mode equipped Mustang GT 10R80 faster than the 300A 10R80? Or were your times in the low 12s because of track conditions?

One of the best things about having the dual injection setup is that it shouldn’t get the carbon buildup on the valves and in the heads like a direct injection engine gets. Direct injection engines suffer from carbon buildup and require expensive and time consuming cleaning to remove the power robbing buildup. By leaving the port injection and running both injection systems the port injection will still clean the intake ports and valves during normal operation unlike a direct injection engine. Not to mention that you get a bump in power and efficiency.

NOTHING you just said is true. Not ONE line. I have a 335 all wheel drive. I have to get valve blasting once every 50,000 miles - it costs $500. Please stop spreading MISinformation. Smh
@porscheguy09
@porscheguy09 7 жыл бұрын
Tracey Melbourn you either didn’t read my comment, misunderstood it or don’t understand English because everything I said is correct. A car with Direct Injection gets carbon buildup on the valves and inside the head after time and has to be cleaned just like your 335 suffers from. The new 2018 Mustang has both Direct Injection and the older Port Injection which injects the fuel into the intake manifold or the head and then enters the cylinder through the intake valve. Because it still uses Port Injection the valves shouldn’t get the carbon buildup that cars running strictly Direct Injection suffer from. By running both Direct and Port Injection the 2018 Mustang can better control the flow of fuel into the engine and will be more efficient.
@porscheguy09

Tracey Melbourn here’s a link backing up everything I said in both my comments. The section titled “The Issue With Direct Injection” really explains what I said and that it’s not MISinformation as you put it. blog.americanmuscle.com/2017/01/09/new-engine-updates-for-the-2018-mustang-gt/

CareerFireman it’s amazing how rude and disrespectful people are these days. More than likely he’s 20,21 and still lives at home. People like him can’t admit when they’re wrong or discuss something without bashing other’s opinions. I just dealt with some kid last week that was the same way. Told me my comment was wrong and I was a dumbass that didn’t know anything. After I provided the proof to back up my claim he still said I was wrong and didn’t know anything and called me a million names. From the things he said you could tell he didn’t know the difference between a piston and a steering wheel it was so bad but he insisted I knew nothing. Guys like this are a thorn in my side. I’m almost 42 and catch myself sounding like my grandpa talking about kids not having any respect anymore. 🤔

On 2018 with PP1 would you still recommend to upgrading the front with the rear sway bars even though it already comes with upgraded rear one?
@captainhowdy9557
@captainhowdy9557 6 жыл бұрын
My main factory upgrade would be that it has recro seats and brembo breaks stock . What ever package that is . And 117 in the quarter-mile is like an 11 second car .
@331Grabber
@331Grabber 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah. That car not having the 301A package means no drag mode. Drag mode is worth a 10th or two and a MPH or two due to it's more aggressive transmission changes This did confirm that the 10-Speed 301A package was faster than the 300A.

I'm in the market for a used sports car and a Mustang GT PP1 is on my consideration list. I've never owned a Ford and have read that the 5.0 V8 has issues with piston slap and cylinder scoring. Is this true? If yes, is it a common problem? I'm also considering a 2010 Porsche 911 (I understand these are totally different cars) and want something that will be reliable. What are your thoughts on the reliability of the 5.0 engine and the Mustang GT overall? Thanks
@latemodelrestoration
@latemodelrestoration 4 жыл бұрын
We have seen reports of piston slap and cylinder scoring happening, but we wouldn't say it's common. The Coyote 5.0 is a very reliable engine as well as the Mustang body in general. Every Mustang we have owned has been fantastic and we love them, especially when they have been modified with a ton of power! You won't regret it!

@@latemodelrestoration Thanks for the reply. I'm a sports car person more interested in accelerating, braking and turning quickly versus quarter mile times. It looks to me like a late model GT with PP1 or 2 will meet these requirements.

What happens when you rev to and hit red line, does the engine/power die and you're like a dead duck in the water (like my 2015 GT), or does the engine just stop reving higher and you're still motoring along?

It will just cut fuel once it hits the limiter.

stangtrax A local shop to me, one of the employees has a 2018 GT, with the auto trans. He bought the Procharger P1SC1 Tuner Kit from Lethal Performance. And he's been daily driving it with 665hp (if I remember correctly, and idk the boost and stuff) he said the auto trans just needs a tune, and it's good to go.

I know you guys sell mustang parts for a living but TBH, modding the hell out of a GT nowadays is a thing of a past IMO, I had a brand new 07 GT and everything could be swapped to be improved over OEM but this new 18's come out of the plant so very well built, options and packages and so on to keep your warranty as well, heck I'd just throw in a set of drag radials on the stock rims and it'd be a high 11 sec car lol.

I don’t care if they had a 20 speed trans . I would rather have a 6speed manual then a 10 speed auto . That just me ... I like driving my mustang then sitting Their . I get it the trans is awesome 😎. And compared to the previous generation automatics I get it it’s huge . But if it’s a daily driver I need manual . Ford should hook up the manual crowed and give a bullet proof manual

I have always talked shit about automatics in a mustang. Never thought I'd say I want an 18 with that fucking 10 speed. I've already got a whippled/tuned 505whp GT/CS with a 5 speed but damn, the 10 speed auto matted to a 7500rpm 5.0 makes me wanna slap my momma.
