Does this unit have the ability to play from a USB stick?

@@stevenwebb7949 Yes, the PMX-1 does have the ability to both charge your device or used as an USB input for audio. You'll need to remove the radio, connect a USB extension, and drill a hole underneath the enclosure. www.amazon.com/Sabrent-22AWG-Extension-Cable-Female/dp/B017XUSKVK/?th=1 In the future, you can also add the RNGR18-FSE speakers as well. It would be worth getting the M0-65 speakers as the RNGR18-STG1 doesn't have a built-in RGB controller for the M1 or M2 Color Optix™ illuminated versions. 5 minute install and sounds good for an all-in-one. FM reception sucks but I only use Bluetooth anyway. Thinking about adding a sub for more bass.

Finally got it installed and the handle for the windshield hits the rear of the left speaker.

Can you get the handle all the way down? Ours was a tight fit but there was enough tolerance so I moved the pieces and could get it to fit.

Do you use the bracket from the factory tip out window as a template to drill holes on the bracket?

Yes, we did another RANGER equipped with a tip-out window, and we used the receiver bracket to determine where to drill holes in the change tray. Remember, measure twice, drill once!

What are the part numbers for the add on speaker wire kit?

Hi Brett, You can create your own harness using the (2) DEUTSCH / Amphenol #DT06-2S connectors and 16-18 AWG cable.

How do you use the Aux & USB settings? Where’s the plug ins?

The pigtails are on the back of the radio. Every installation is different, so we let you drill your own holes based on how you want to connect extension cables. You can either remove one of the speakers to access the ports or remove the trim ring from the radio, then remove the 4 screws to remove the main radio unit from the housing.

Bought my 22 fully enclosed with the flip up windshield. This unit doesn’t fit without trimming the change holder and modifying it. I’m not done yet. Got this thing butchered and looking like crap. Might cut the change holder clear out.

Yes, we note on our compatibility chart that the tip-out full windshield requires modification, but it will fit.

@@danfrank5833 Yes, we installed our Stage-1 on our Northstar Edition with tip-out windshield. If you by chance have the “tip-out” as well, then you may need to work on drilling pilot holes for the receiver. Definitely going to sound great with the windshield installed!

I have a 2023 Polaris Ranger 1000 Premium crew and the bigger kits will not work with it. With this product could I add two rear speakers, a subwoofer, and an amp?

Are you sayin the STG-2/3/4/5/6 models don't work because it's not on the compatibility chart or because of modifications made to the UTV? I haven't added 2023 model compatibility yet to any of the charts yet, but we have inspected several 2023 Ranger 1000 models and there is no difference between 2022 models in regards to adding the audio system.

@@rockfordfosgate with the XP model there is little to no difference. The 1000 “premium” has a full plastic cabinet under the seats.

@@michaeldesyllas3199 Thanks for that clarification. Yes, the RANGER 1000 Premium shows NO compatibility for 2020-2022. It's the RANGER XP 1000 Premium that DOES show compatibility for 2019-2022. Yes, the RNGR18-STG1 does have REAR outputs on the radio, allowing you to add the RNGR18-FSE or the RNGR18-RSE. You'll need (2) DEUTSCH/Amphenol #DT06-2S connectors to tap into these. I have the same bike as you and this fits fine. There are two rear/additional speaker harnesses out for additional speakers/sub with an amp connection for power on. Connectors are Deutsch/Amphenol type..

The RNGR18-STG1 has RCA FRONT and RCA REAR/SUB outputs that can be accessed if you remove the radio and drill access holes through the enclosure. These outputs can be used to feed an additional amplified speaker or subwoofer.

Hi Ryan, there is an antenna port on the PMX-1, so if you need to attach a long range antenna, you can remove one of the speakers, drill an access hole on the bottom of the enclosure and feed your antenna cable through it for attachment to the Ranger antenna whip.

How is the sound on stage 1. No windshield issues

@@danfrank5833 Sound Quality is much better over any type of SoundBar you could install since we use larger diameter speakers in an enclosure that’s good for mid-bass response. The speakers are raised closer to your ears so you can hear music details more easily as well. Many UTV dealers have these in stock, so try our Dealer Locator and contact them to see if they have one on the show floor so you can hear for yourself.
