We absolutely fell in love with the Street triple.ive had an MV Brutale 800 and I currently own a Tuono Factory however this bike sits atop The naked bike heap. We ended up buying this street triple for my wife. She uses it as her street bike and partial track day toy. Could not be happier. Great bike

This is what I said to my wife when I got back from riding this bike. "I would start you out on this bike without any hesitation or reservation". It's light, nimble, flickable and has a linear power delivery that is very easy to control. Perfect starter bike, perfect 2nd bike, perfect 3rd bike....for track days! All in one. never have to buy another bike :)

I have been watching your reviews. They are sooooo good. I am thinking to buy Yamaha MT09 or Street Triple R. Mainly used in the city. Which one you suggest?
@NothingToProve
@NothingToProve 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Ayhan, well, I'd take the R, simply because it will do circles around the 09 as far as performance but if you want to save some money, then the 09 is a better value. Let your heart decide. :) Ride safe, Scott

What’s your opinion on this bike or the R being my next bike coming from the BMW G310R (my first and current bike)? Too much? Should I graduate to a 500cc first?
@NothingToProve
@NothingToProve 4 жыл бұрын
Depends on your skill level of riding. On the G310R it should have progressed pretty good, assuming that, this bike will be ok for you. Just one concern is the level of performance drastically increases from the 310 to the 765, as long as you have the mental maturity needed to deal with the performance then no problem. This bike is FUN!

NothingToProve Thanks for the reply. Yes, I take riding safety very seriously I’m just more concerned about the bike being forgiving to my human errors. Can’t wait to test ride one when the weather warms up a notch!

I'm a short rider, about 5'5. Would you recommend me getting the low seat height, which I'm close to flat footing or go for the RS with the Ohlins suspension, QS and M50 front brakes which I tip toe on? I only ride on weekends and 80% of my rides are riding in the twisty roads. I like the idea of backing up on the bike while mounted opposed to pushing the bike back due to tall seat height. Also, I feel like if I were to come into a situation where I might tip the bike over, I have a better chance of saving it since I am better planted to the ground with my feet. I really want to know is it that much of a difference from the R low to the RS? May consider track day in the future. I currently ride a 2012 ZX6R and as nice as it is, it can get uncomfortable after an 8 hour ride with friends.
@NothingToProve
@NothingToProve 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, hmm...to flat foot or not to flat foot, that comes down to personal preference. I prefer to flat foot it, it's just that much more comfortable and gives me a secure feeling in all situations. I just sat on the new BMW 1250 GS Adventure, yesterday at the dealership, which is a very high bike, I had to tip-toe it. But that is big Adventure bikes...expected. I would not buy it and I"m 5'10"! I would flat foot it and upgrade the bike later if you really need to...which I don't think you will need to do so. :)

Scott my dilemma is that I rode the speed triple I have been unable to get my hands on the street triple I live in the state of Michigan Usa and bike riding season is over what I noticed that the writing position was a little too attack for meMy 1100 and my dirtbike’s are all more conservative that’s why am leading towards the Dukes I would love to see a comparison between the Duke 890 in the 2020 Street triple RS I cannot wait for April or May and hope the availability of one of those two bikes is there thanks for Responding I respect your opinion
@NothingToProve
@NothingToProve 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith, I'm from Michigan too!! And yes, the speed triple is more leaned forward than the street. I don't know why they did that, it really does not make sense to me why they have two different riding positions but they do. This is one of the reasons I prefer the Street over the Speed. It could be that the Speed is trying to compete with the Ducati 1200 Monster and that also has a slight forward leaning posture. But also 790 Duke is straight up riding too. So you've picked two bikes that have a up-right riding position. Good luck with trying to find one to sit on this time of year :( Take care, Scott

Hey Keith. I'm from Ann Arbor and if you're local you can stop by and try my 2018 RS out.Just message me. It's interesting you guys say the Speed feels more leaned forward. I had a 2014 Speed Triple before I bought the street, and I felt it was a much more upright cruising seating position. In fact one of the first things I noticed getting on the Street Triple was the more forward sport position.

I traded a 2010 ST3 for a 2019 Speed RS and after 2,000 miles, regretted it. The Street fit me like a glove, best ergos, telepathic ride. The Speed had the midrange and more planted feeling I longed for and the engine felt less wheezy on long highway speeds but its just too committed. The forward cant on the seat, higher COG ... I just haven't felt at home riding this bike and trying to fall in love .. changing tires, tweaking suspension .... I still feel like Im riding a bull and Have to ride the bike fast to feel like its at home. Commuting on it is just too much. Debating one last gasp of a handlebar risers, but ultimately starting to eyeball something else. '20 Street triple RS? More midrange than the '10. Hopefully same ergos, and not forward cant on the seat. Hopefully more planted. Speed twin - you laugh, but man that bike has appeal - plus I have a BMW r1200RS in the stable. KTM 1290 - no KTM dealers locally and I wonder if the 1290 is too much for commute / weekend rides. Rode the 790 and wasnt for me, though was fun. I really wanted to love the Speed but the seat is just too leaned forward (even trying an air hawk to solve it but yuck) What you think? Spirited commuting, lazy rides and weekend mountain trips ? ? ? Street Triple or Speed Twin ... WHY DID THEY MAKE RS EAT FORWARD TILTING - screwed up the bike.
@NothingToProve
@NothingToProve 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, I'd take the Street RS over the Speed RS any day...for the same reasons you state above. If I recall I even said that this is the perfect commuter in the video. I know a few guys that own the Street and we are all of the same mind. Triumph needs to fix the Speed Triple. Ride safe, Scott

Thanks for review I liked it a lot too. Tires play a role but given the conditions you tested in I assume the sc was not the ideal tire. Triumph builds with lots of quality no doubt. You ride in Germany yet you only were at 80?

Könntest du mir sagen ob du die Street Triple RS für Einsteiger empfehlen kannst? Sofern man sich unter Kontrolle hat 😂💪🏻👍🏻
@NothingToProve
@NothingToProve 5 жыл бұрын

Wait a second the Speed Triple is a hooligan machine and the street is more track biased? Seems backwards
@NothingToProve
@NothingToProve 3 жыл бұрын
Yea, agreed. It's like the 1290SDR in that aspect, more fun on the road and less of the razor sharp focus that's needed for the track. The more track focused usually means less fun on the road...usually. I'd choose the Speed over the Street for the street and I'd take the Street for the track over the Speed. And yes, I've been on the track with the Street (a 2019 model), it was a blast but very sharp and I had to be focused because it hit every line I picked, be it a good line or a bad line, and that is why we say less fun on the street, you need that focus. Whereas a hooligan bike is more forgiving and therefore more fun.

@@NothingToProve One more question is the power the same between them where is the power delivery different. I assume they have the same motors
@NothingToProve
@NothingToProve 3 жыл бұрын
The power delivery is the main reason the Speed is a hooligan bike and the Street not. The torque on the Speed comes on much sooner, much lower in the RPM range...around 4k whereas the Street much higher around 7-8k (ish). Also another difference between the bikes is the size, if you are normal to small size the Street will fit better but if you are bigger, then the Speed will fit better. 👍
