2018 Yamaha R1M Unboxing & Start-up | 200+ HP Sound

Meet the new Yamaha R1M - the top-spec Yamaha superbike. It’s our new long-term test motorcycle and it just arrived - so we went to the Yamaha dealer to do the unboxing and the first engine start.
We have some big plans for this bike: to ride both on street and track, to transform it to a racetrack killer and to put it against its rivals. Stay tuned for more.

All motorcycles come like that. Easier to transport since you can load them on top of each other but you won't be able to do that if it was not in a box. Also sturdier, no movement.

Brother, never ever start a new bike straight out of the "box" without checking all the other fluids. You may have but you didn't mention checking them. Just to be sure and to not ruin a new motor the factory failed to check.

tareq aziz every bike from manufacture is at least started once to ensure it runs before it is shipped out to dealerships. So in that turn they do have engine oil in the motor.

+Jay Hall You obviously know nothing. Stock exhausts on any car/bike from the factory restrict the bike's power because of all the emissions/sound regulations in place. Once you get a full system, it will let the bike breathe better, giving you performance gains with a proper tune.

First of all that bike does not have 200 horsepower. That bike from the factory pulls 157 horsepower on the dyno. Even if you get it unrestricted you'll be lucky to hit 180 horsepower and if you do a ECU reflash full exhaust system and air filter with full Dyno tune you might be able to hit 190 horsepower. But I don't know where you got your 200 horsepower because that's a LIE!

Fool...first confirm at dashboard and sw all oil parameters then only ignition on it....never dry run..it may unknowingly damage it..experts what do you suggest....

I bought a brand new 2013 in fall of 2012 and the engine had a bad sound like something was broken loose and rattling inside, I lost my license 6 months later and had to sell it but what disappointment, probably get a Kawasaki if I ever get another street bike.

Very sexy bike ....but I'll still get me the ninja zx10rr comes race ready an has about 197hp ...ECU flash tune an full Exhaust an itll push 215 to 220hp .....a d it's a monster on track itll give the R1m a run for its money .....there's a reason the zx10 won those championships. Recently....dont get me wrong I love the R1M AN would love to own one too lol ....but I like the zx10 a bit more ....only thing I dislike on zx10 is that it's pretty wide but its light too the zx10rr that is .....both of these bike are monsters

funnily enough ,these high end bikes are bought by rich guys of Romania(not to many around anyway) ,not for track days,decent racing is non existent in Romania(where the video was made),but are bought strictly to show off the others around you how much money you have,and also trying to convince your entourage that if your bike is fast than of course you are fast,which is stupid in the least!:)) This particular bike will never see a proper racing track,and these so sophisticated suspension settings will never be put to the test in the slightest! An average talented ,let's say;italian or english teenager will run circles with a much inferior bike around the romanian owner(whomever he or she is) of this particular bike.

Incredible looking bike! I had the very first R1 in 1999 and was an amazing bike and sure miss it! I don't really care for this exhaust sound though! It sounds too much like a twin or a Ducati..I guess maybe I'd get used to this beautiful machine though!
