I can't help loving this bike... Of all the exotics out there, this bike just gets my attention. It could be that those Ducati engineers that let for Yamaha have really outdone themselves while at Yamaha. Also, this engine is actually a simple one to do repairs on and the valves don't require checking for years! The bike is just built so well... She's a beauty, no doubt about it! 😍👍🏼
@nishkarthulsie98036 жыл бұрын
Aint1S do you also lobe the price of this bike
@Aint1S6 жыл бұрын
It would be cheaper if they didn't make 3 different versions of the R1, but they have to do segmentation of the line to allow for people who wouldn't be able to enjoy the R1 at a slightly elevated price... Still, it would've been lower than 21k. Figure 14k, 16k, and 21k. If they could just sell the R1M, they could buy more at bulk pricing for the Öhlins suspension, the carbon, and the titanium valvetrain. Less division in the manufacturing line and more production of one bike. At 21k for everything that comes with the bike... I don't mind the price, but it's not a bike that you're going to buy when you are 18 to 24. This bike comes later for those who are stable and make decent money. If you work in an oil field in those age groups, you're going to have enough to buy it. Still like it 👍🏼

@SuperChiefer845 жыл бұрын
@JezBollah 667 Yeah the stock calipers on the R1 are monoblocks while the Brembos calipers for this bike are 2 piece.
@yannberger5 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more with you, I mean it is their top of the line and the stock brakes are street brakes, definitely not track related, at first I thought it was due to abs but as I had a pair of race brembo gp4rs in the garage, I installed them with a brembo master cylinder and straight away went night and day! so it is not really the Abs... some of my friends did the abs removal and surely it went better and gain weight but the hassle on the M regarding the electronics... not sure it is worthy unless you do a national championship...

I bought a brand new R1 S model back in May 2018. Leftover model. The electronics are near identical. Obviously with the M version you get fully automated comp/reb damping control, which is VERY impressive, but otherwise the electronics are very very similar and absolutely incredible. I spent a little over 1,000 between a 3/4 exhaust, ECU flash, Filter and couple other little things. My bike won't outrun a M that has a flashed ecu but it'd keep pace pretty darn close. The dyno charts are not much different either. Just the R1 and R1 M have an extra 1800 rpm and make a few more whp. I would save the money and buy either a regual R1 or even the S model. *By the way: the R1 in ANY form is the most uncomfortable and flat out brutal street bike i've ever owned or test ridden. Get a new seat immediately

Ellie, I've low-sided my 2015 R1... thankfully just cosmetic damage. Had a pit-mate high-side his bike and his whole front nose was wrecked... dash cracked, just needed a new dash. With all the electronics, it's hard(ER) to crash the bike coming out of corners, but going into them... not so much. I crashed trail braking too hard in the rain. Regarding electronics, it's only a few extra sensors. The complex part is the software in the ECU. As long as the sensors function the software functions.

yeah the abs needs to be adjustable or at least be able to be turned off. and I would like the lift to be adjustable to something as a reference such as setting 1 can come up X amount of inches/mm etc. the brake components are fine. it's the pads that are terrible. I replace mine with Ferodo sintered pads. incredible difference. I also notice they put symbols in the indicator lights on the dash. that was a pet peeve of mine. a light is on but unless you can remember from your manual you don't know what it is.

I'd go for the R1M over the V4, but I'd choose the Superleggera Finale edition over the R1M just because of the looks. The V4 I don't like that much, still awesome though.
@brois8416 жыл бұрын
Abid, if you actually plan on putting it on the track and spending your own money: the R1, of course. Up until this version I'd say don't waste money on the R1M, but the Ohlins Smart EC2 suspension sounds pretty spiffy. If you just ride street and spending someone else's money, then the Duc makes a better garage queen. P.S. You should hear the R1 at WOT at high RPM at the track... pure sex. I'll reserve judgement on the Duc until I hear it (I'm sure someone will show up with one this year), but I can't imagine it'll be rivaling the RSV4 with their tuning.
