I inherited one of these recently. Was surprised how easy it was to access/check everything. I actually got onto this video looking to see if this was supposed to have a plastic top engine cover from new, but evidently not.

I wondered the exact same thing when I got my 2019 Jetta with the 1.4t. It looks like there should be an engine cover, but I’m glad i was mistaken (because now I don’t have to buy one to make it complete)
@iainbagnall4825 Жыл бұрын
@@Haffmatthew lol yeah I was somewhat surprised because earlier years had one but I guess Volkswagen are learning that customers dont give a damn if there is a big plastic cover on top of the engine and its just extra expense so why bother?

I couldn't find a timing belt interval in my manual. I'm going to assume change at 100k miles.

You would be right. They say it is lifetime officially, but NEVER follow that ridiculous piece of advice. They likely expect people to trade these in within 7 years, hence the reason why they say “for the lifetime of the car.”
@Stix11276 ай бұрын
You gotta look online but it says 60,000 and if it looks okay then inspect every 10,000 after. I noticed when I was changing it that the tensioner was not under tension and failed

60k miles/7 years. That's ok for a Euro car

I was really hoping you would show specifically where the VVT Solenoid and the Camshaft Sensor are on this 2019 year model. Can’t find it anywhere on KZbin, and I’ve been looking all week. Kinda need to know now, so I can get to swapping them out. Hopefully they are both pretty easy to access! I think I may have located the camshaft sensor, but I’m hoping that’s not it, cause there is stuff in the way that will be a problem. It wasn’t that way in previous year models, but I’m assuming if that’s it, they’ve done that to make it harder to replace yourself. Also want to purchase a service/repair manual but finding one for the 2019/2020 Jetta has been frustrating. The ones I’m finding stop at the 2018 models. Any helps or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

does anyone know if a 2020 jetta has a thermostat housing or water pump. i have found articles that state both. mine needs to be replaced and the cost difference is drastic depending on what it has
@Stix11276 ай бұрын
The thermostat is built into the water pump. I already had mine replaced with the timing belt.
