Bought the wife a 2015 Grand Picasso for hauling all the family about, she loves it and I like it while driving a BMW 520. Great tech in it , like massage seats, foot rest for the passenger, sliding and reclining second row seats, third row seats are a blessing for her. Some much room no matter where you sit while she gets 57MPG, way more than the BMW

Why 2038 ? US badly needs more frugal load carrying cars like this, I mean pickups are a status symbol for most Americans and completely impractical for most

@@toneranger unless the 25 year law is revoked and becomes useless, then I won’t be able to import a 2013 (first year of this body style) until 2038. Also, depends on what you do for a living. If you’re towing a trailer, a pickup is really your best option. A (relatively) cheap, reliable truck, that you don’t need to care about that much. Half the people out there who buy pickup trucks buy them for towing. The other half buy them for personal use (idk why). I personally probably won’t end up buying one because I don’t have a use for one, and if I ever need to tow something small on a semi-regular basis, I’ll buy a minivan or a something more powerful, and something that can handle more weight than a sedan (I have a Pontiac G6). In America, they’re not very impractical, unless you’re living in a city. And most people on the city get a Toyota Camry/Corolla, or a Honda Civic. That’s just my point of view at least

@@JoeyLovesTrains never knew there was a 25 year import ban in the US, though I can see why... Japanese and Korean car makers are so efficient and reliable and entirely dominate the top 5 in the sedan market in the US, Europe's obsession with smaller SUVs, city cars and 7 seaters like the Grand C4 and Renault Scenic would open up new market niches that US car manufacturers didn't know existed and would really struggle to adapt to, and take the guts of that 25 years to respond to in their product range. There are no US car makers in Europe any more, Ford's are designed in the UK, Chevy was the last and their engines were unreliable and inefficient so they pulled out recently. US petrol prices are literally half the cost per litre of what we pay generally in Europe, though each country is different. That encourages Americans to drive bigger engine cars, with bigger horsepower that consume more. Hence the US car manufacturers that went bankrupt after the 2008 crash and had to be bailed out by European car makers and the US government. They should have been allowed to fail and new buyers would have insisted on more future proof and efficient designs, their cars were not built for an era with high fuel prices, efficiency regulations, hence Fiat with its smaller engine range and alternative fuel knowhow buys Chrysler at a steal of a price after the crash, and bear in mind Fiat make the worst cars in Europe, they are a laughing stock, not sold anymore in many European countries because of their bad reputation, including Ireland UK, Scandinavia, but their engines are cheap to make and relatively efficient, certainly decades ahead of any engines coming out of the US in terms of efficiency. Here in Europe after 4 years a car has to be emissions tested every 2 years, here in Italy anything from Euro 4 emissions below, that's new cars sold up to around 2009, cannot drive on many days depending on the smog count, so if you need to go to work, " _tough_ !", and you permanently cannot drive at all in cities in certain countries. So if you bought a new car in 2009 and still own it and live in Milan, " _tough_ !", since last year you cannot drive it in the city of Milan or Rome and many many others across Europe, were now on Euro 6 for new car sales. Crazy an 11 year old car. In the meantime I still see Americans driving around in gas guzzlers from the 70s and 80s as daily drivers, everyone loves a classic car or restoration, and I love American classic cars, but aside from the safety risk, Sammy Davis Jr. lost his eye because of a steering wheel column which acted like a projectile in a crash, these are cars with 4lt plus engines that drink fuel. I also reckon most of the people who drive big 4wd pickups in the US could just as easily use something like a 2wd Ford Tourneo van with 163bhp which consumes less and is way more practical, but does not have the "cool factor", a pickup is exposed, even with a cover it's not as practical and the back seats are always an upright squeeze. American car dealers and manufacturers have done a fantastic job of convincing buyers they need those cars. Just my humble opinion. Having driven in many an American car I find the interiors very plasticy, interior build quality lacking and cheap, compare the Chrysler Grand voyager interior dash with the identical European Lancer version, having owned many a French luxobarge their interiors are the best in Europe for comfort very plush and classy, I mean look at the sliding sunvisor on this Citroen, and that's a 2012 design. Hope to see French cars making a return to the US very soon but as I say they sell to market segments that the US dealers can't respond to and can't adapt to, quickly. I can just see US buyers, " _hang on why are we buy this for that much, when we can buy that Citroen with 7 seats sips petrol for this much_ " there would be s stampede from the traditional market segments. This 7 seater has a range and 110bhp - 160 bhp 1.5-20l engine depending on the year. The most popular is the 120bhp 1.6 diesel, now compare that bhp and engine size to the Average US 7 seater. Across all segments I reckon average bhp here is around 110bhp, in the US I'd say it's at least 250-270bhp per car, average. Would be interesting to know. I don't believe there is a similar ban here in Europe, plenty of US ports individually here but not on any kind of scale, some people with more money than sense. For example, there is a guy with a huge Dodge 5.5l HEMI pickup at the top of my road, he drops his kid to school 800 metres away to pose, destroying an already dodgy engine as it barely warms up.. ., every morning tows "f" all, never sticks anything in the tub and the pickup just sits there all day, he's got a pool and fancy house , think he got an inheritance judging by how he spends his money 😁, does he need a pickup,? Hell no. More money than sense

@@toneranger your friend up the road sounds like a lot of people I know! And you’re pretty spot on with American design quality vs European. And a lot of cars in America are based off of European designs. My car (a 2007 Pontiac G6, with the smallest engine, a 2.4L 4 cylinder which has been pretty reliable for the past 35k miles), doesn’t sip gasoline as much as an average European would want. It weights about 3K lbs, and is based off of the Opel Vectra C (specifically the wagon/estate version known as the Vectra Caravan, since my car and the Vectra Caravan have the same wheel base, suspension setup, and many other similarities), it certainly isn’t fast by any means though, about 160hp, and 0-60 in around 9 seconds. An American isn’t going to buy a car that gets to 60mph (about 100kph) in about 10 seconds, that’s just the truth. As a teenager who likes cars and likes to go fast, I know I wouldn’t buy a car that slow. It’s also the case that “oh, smaller cars are more dangerous on a highway with pickup trucks or semi trucks.” Which is really not the case, since all cars go through safety crash ratings, and by law (I think) all new cars show that safety crash rating on the window sticker. But yes, sadly we need to wait 25 years until we can import a car with little to no issues. There are other ways of importing a car before it’s 25 years old, for example, the show and tell (you can’t drive it more than xxxx amount of miles per year), you could actually go through crash tests, to prove it’s safe on IS roads and adjust the car to meet the US regulations (the Nissan R33’s went that route, and famously (i forget the company name) also imported R32’s and R34’s and once the US government realized, they actually let the owners keep their cars, and just told the company to only import R33’s. Something like that). There are a few other hoops you can jump through to bring a car over, Canada has a 15 year rule, however the borders are pretty strict about having imports cross the border I think. You could make the case that X car is similar to Y car which is already sold in the US and legalize it that way I believe. A company in Denver called left hand utes, uses cars previously sold in the US, and converts them to wagon/estate or Ute designs, brought over from Australia. That’s really about it, I’m no expert, so forgive me if I got something wrong. Diesels are also not common amongst small cars in the US, VW kinda killed that market in 2015, however GM did make a couple small diesels for the Chevy Cruze, Chevy Equinox, and GMC Terrain in 2019, which is very interesting. The Jeep Grand Cherokee can be optioned with a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel, although it’s a Fiat design, and as you mentioned, Fiat is also not known to make good cars. However we still buy them for whatever reason. I’ve never seen a Grand Cherokee Eco Diesel, but I know they’re out there. I believe that’s one of the smallest diesels engines on the market at the moment. In the US we also need to have DEF (Diesel Emission Fluid), which costs money, and is just another thing you’d need to buy if you wanted to own a car that runs on diesel. In America (depending on the state) you do get annual inspections, although the people doing the inspirations are terrible at their jobs (there are too many cars that should not be on the road, that are on the road). Where I live you need to get an annual emissions inspection, and general inspection. Montana doesn’t require emissions inspections so a lot of car tuners register their cars in Montana so they don’t run into legal trouble with emissions. Harley Davidson actually used to ship their bikes out with a tune that would pass inspection, however was severely underpowered, and they would get the “normal” tune that riders were expecting at the dealership. This happened around the time of diesel-gate, so people obviously didn’t care that this other American company was doing similar nefarious stuff. Which is really irritating to me. That’s about all for now. Sorry for the wall of text.

@@JoeyLovesTrains very interesting, yes even though the US has annual inspections, the emissions benchmark standards of these inspections barely scratch those of Europe, you'd never get away with driving a 70s or 80s car on petrol as a daily driver here and even if you could, the days that you can't drive based on your emissions would mean you essentially would own an expensive paper weight for many days of the year. If you're caught driving on a day that emission standards are set to euro 5 and below you get fined by the cops. So what owners of classic cars and the odd 80s almost daily driver do, say an old Mercedes e190 or old 80s big Jag do is convert them to LPG which is considered Euro 5 I think. The log tank is normally placed in the spare wheel tub so you get only 250 miles between fills, way less in a Jag, but you can still use the petrol tank, but LPG costs alot less, and of course petrol here costs twice what it costs in the US per gallon. Anyway, hope you get your hands in a Citroen soon, my dad had an old 2cv so I've always loved the hydro suspension, I've owned a C5 which was the smoothest ride around and I'm about to buy a C4 Grand as in the review but they don't have the famous liquid suspension anymore, though it still retains the great Citroen ride comfort. I really think they would do well in the US. But as Europeans have rejected US made cars for ride, reliability and efficiency there's no reciprocal deal that can be done. So Japan and Koreas success and permission to sell in the states *must* be related to the military bases there as it gives them bargaining power. Europe should negotiate the same terms to sell EU cars in the US 😄 US luxobarges cars are famous for a soft willowy ride, that's what Citroen does really well too albeit a bit better in corners 😉

Man I wish I had such a compact setup as yours, I bring the PA, leads, mixer mics etc. for the band. Are you doing solo acoustic gigs ? As a fellow gigging guitarist the seat modulation is one of the main reasons I am buying this. Great audio on the camera, very quiet car for such a big airy cabin. No 3rd row airbags, crazy!? Shocking for this "revamped" version they removed the reading lights on the back of the seats AND the third road ventilation. Makes no sense whatsoever. The roofline is quite low, the sunvisor party piece is very cool, but having sat in the front seat with the sunvisor raked back it touches my head and I'm only 6'1, so I had to lower the seat.

Very interesting car tbh, not something I'd ever be interested in (no kids, lol) but if I did ever need something with that level of practicality I'd definitely keep it in mind. Seriously though, such a long name!

I didn't expect this review to be "Top Gear kind", but if it was a little less boring, more emphasis everyone gets from it. If you were asked to make a summary of the video, and what I could memorize from the car or something else, the answer would be ... hummm ... I mean .... was it a ... white car?

@@TheAutoDad does the third row has fixed chairs or can be slide a little, as well as second row? Can you please compare third row on C4 Spacetourer (2019) with previous Grand C4 Picasso 2013-2018 version? Is it completely the same? Does third row have any ventilation? How about adaptive cruise, can it fully stop and then go again from 0km\h again? Because previous version (2013-2018) cruise can be operated only from 40-150 km\h and could not brake when another car ahead braking. Thanks

The rear seats are fixed from my recollection. I’d be unable to compare unfortunately as I don’t have a reference vehicle now.

@@ivanal565 The third row is exactly the same as the first C4 Picasso (2006-2013). The Grand C4 Picasso 2013-2018 version is completely the same, Citroen just change name "Picasso" for "SpaceTourer". But whats surprised me, Citroen revoke third row ventilation (version 2013-2018 had it), LED reading lamps in the seat backs of the front seats and also handle decorations. The new adaptive cruise control now can fully stop a car, but after that you have to press the accelerator pedal and again turn on adaptive cruise control (speed above 40 km/h).

@@ivanal565 The third row of seats are basically for kids.But adults can use it is your choice.Mine has cruise control but not adaptive.Don't worry about ventilattion there is enough.What I do lie is the auto parking in mine I have used it many times.I have never been that keen on cruise control I like to be in charge to buy in the UK.
