The union emphasizes umpires...especially Angel(?) Hernandez and Joe West...to provoke players, coaches and managers by deliberately f*****g up calls. They've adopted the "Kulpa Rule" in which umpires "can do anything they want". Everybody in that union needs a good hard kick where it hurts most...by steel-toed shoes
@garrettwebster2014 жыл бұрын
I know this is a couple months old, but to answer your questions, 1. Because the CBA says that (except under very limited circumstances), the MLB can't fire an umpire once they are on the big league roster 2. Really, really hard to tell in real time (and often in slow motion). In fact, so hard that the 100 most skilled people in the world are regularly criticized about their ability to tell. Also, that's not the strikezone.

You really feel you're right. First of all if you don't have that attitude what are you going to do? Change calls every time someone complains? Secondly, the player didn't complain and both Rays announcers were on the side of the umpire. Thirdly, if an umpire is consistent players do not mind an, in this case, wide zone away from righties, in to lefties. Therefore what you said is stupid and so is everyone that liked your comment.

Two things players and managers will never understand; 1) how the running lane is actually used and 2) the infield fly rule. In the second play that was interference all day, every day. Yes, the runner is allowed to step outside the lane to touch first. But if he was never in the lane to begin with he gets no protection on his last step. It's that simple.

Fun facts about Martinez’ Series ejection: 1) It was only the 23rd ejection in the long history of the World Series, and the first since 1996, when Bobby Cox was tossed out of the decisive Game 6 for arguing an “out” call on Atlanta’s Terry Pendleton on a stolen-base attempt. 2) Martinez became only the 8th manager to be thrown out of a Series game-joining Hughie Jennings, Frank Chance, Charlie Grimm, Earl Weaver, Billy Martin, & Bobby Cox (the only manager to suffer multiple Series ejections to date, by the way)-and the very first to still guide his team to a World Series title anyway. 3) The Nationals became only the 3rd team to be dealt a Series ejection and still go on to win it, joining the 1934 St. Louis Cardinals and the 1959 Los Angeles Dodgers surviving such a hardship. :)

You clearly don't know how difficult it is to be an umpire. The odds of passing umpire school are so slim and if you regress one year you have to redo everything again. Now once they get to the majors they have the umpires union but until then you have to be elite.
