Don't hate on this little bike for the lack of everything, it truly has a market in Latin america, Asia , India, and the like. Being here in the states, minimum you need 300ccs, but on the aforementioned places, speed, income and purpose play an important part on the reason for acquiring such a small and tame bike. Is legit, slow, also good to develop skills and set a foot on two wheels. definitely there's a market for this bike. Max speed on certain countries is 120 km/h , almost 72 miles/ h..

I don't think this bike is as bad as it sounds from this first ride. It has a small engine, and that's something some people prefer. You're comparing this 248cc to a 400cc on the Ninja 400 so of course it has less power. But it will get much better fuel economy at almost 80 mpg. That's a big selling point for some people. From an appearance perspective, I think this bike looks really clean and sharp... and the gauge display is nice for the class. For $4,600 it is not a bad option for somebody who doesn't speed.

The weight is honestly reassuring for me and the brakes after wearing in do grip better, at first they were a little sloppy, but the gas tank is great that I can at times go up to two weeks before needing to refill and I have plenty of fun tossing the bike around and with the weight I like how I don't feel like I'm going to break the bike and my movements need to be deliberate, especially when it's windy the bike feels very planted. By no means is it perfect and I would never take the bike on a highway, to me it just doesn't seem like it's made for that, but I've held my own even when I've been out cruising with the local groups and some Harley's.

Anyone watching this video with a sense of inquiry should first check out the engine specs that these small bikes put out. A 250cc and a roughly 26 BHP Suzuki vs 40+ BHP bikes nearing 400 cc is a big divide! That Suzuki is meant for emerging markets, mostly ridden on congested roads by a much younger customer buying his/her first bike on a budget. It isn't meant for American highways! All the previous bikes that he has reviewed cost thrice as much in some of these targeted markets. So I might as well bring out the Suzuki B-King and crap all over the KTM, Kawasaki or whatever in the sub 500 cc class but then again how much am I being paid to troll?

To be honest, I feel you are extremely biased when you do these reviews. I have not ridden this particular bike but it seems you pretty much disliked everything, including things that are unreasonable, like the the top speed. I mean, 85 mph is NORMAL for a 250. What did you expect exactly? 150 mph? Then you rode the wrong bike. This bike is not meant for highways, it's meant for inner city rides and it's almost always a way to help new riders learn how to ride. You need to try to remain more biased with these reviews. What you said might actually be true, but the way you say it, sounds like you are biased. It seemed like you wouldnt like the bike before you started riding it. It seemed you wouldn't like the highway test, before you conduct the highway test. See what I mean? The point you are making about feeling uncomfortable while leaning or maneuvering the bike, I kinda feel you're right! The bike does seem a bit lazy.

Honda rebel 250. ~18 hp. Very slow to accelerate, tops out 75-85, best selling starter bike ever. Was made for 30 years before changing anything about it. Obviously, speed isn't everything, it's not really anything for a beginner unless you're overconfident and ready for a trip to the ER. If that's the case, start out on a 600. Why are starter bikes needing to be faster and faster? So you won't be bored and you'll keep it longer? If it's not at least a 600, you'll wanna move up to one within a few months anyways. That's how beginner's usually are. Don't shit on something that has been proven to work for so many years.

you're completely missing the point here. We need a strong and healthy 250cc class consisting of sporty bikes with the output of what the GSX250R/Ninja 250, and the CBR250r had (all 3 really close to each other) Learning to ride a motorcycle is more than just passing a 5 minute test around some pylons. Throttle control, counter steering, lean angles, proper braking technique, etc are far easier to learn on a less powerful bike. You can make mistakes and not pay too hard of a price. At the same time, there's nothing wrong with keeping the adrenaline glands in check for a while, too many inexperienced riders have way too much power at their untrained right wrist. I've seen this movie before, our "starter" bikes will all be 400cc bikes capable of sub 5 second 0-60 times and 160mph top speeds. What's the point? Might as well get your permit and jump right on a 600 and be that guy i see everday who has no idea how to take a corner because you're scared. This bike and it's ouput and weight are right there with any 250 made to conform to todays emission standards. As a community we need sporty looking 250cc motorcycles to be applauded, and whenever possible, to recommend them as starter bikes. We would have much better riders out there, and we should all want that.
@dantereynolds52694 жыл бұрын
I have the 2018 version of this bike and it appears to be the exact same as the one that you tested. This bike is definitely not as fast as the R3 or Ninja 300 that my friends owned. It is not made for the highway at all, 55 is okay but when the rate of traffic is going 70 you won't have any power to maneuver in the case of an emergency. Also on windy days or near semis you will feel like you are being pushed/sucked from your lane. The top speed that I have ever achieved is 87 MPH it was on a straight shot with no interference, the bike was redlined and vibrating the entire time which made my hands feel numb . With all of that being said, I learned how to ride comfortably on this bike, I have never really been one for having to go the fastest. When I was in California this bike was fine in town and I never had any problems. Currently I am looking into either getting a CBR 500, Ninja 400, or Ninja 650 so that I can use the bike for commuting on the interstate with the ability to move when I need it to. I appreciate the honest review, this bike was very useful for me over the last two years but I think that it is for a very specific user.
