The styling in the front is fine but I just hate what they did with the rear of the vehicle. I used to drive a Honda CRX and even that old relic makes the Civic Type-R look like trash.

2.0 is MPI not GDI. The same engine found in Elantra 2.0 and Kona 2.0. I want to stay away from GDI because of its inherent carbon build up in the intake valve that requires expensive cleaning (walnut blst or scrub) down the road. I would get 2.0 instead of 1.6t solely for that reason.
@joesanders97812 жыл бұрын
This is literally the best Hyundai comment ever. So true. My 2015 Sonata & Sante Fe both had 1.6 turbo engines and they’ve both had them replaced 3 times within 2 years. Definitely stay away from that 1.6t until they fix it
@juliancaraballomedina36262 жыл бұрын
You can prevent that by installing an oil catch can, pretty effective💯

Wow thanks for this video. I'm getting my black 2019 Veloster 2.0 tomorrow!!! Excited!!!! Korean pride🇰🇷😎lol. Man Hyundai stepped up their game. Never thought I would go with a Hyundai ever in my life, let alone the Veloster but I can't find any car for this price range with as much features for the price range, I mean sunroof, premium audio, and android/apple far play for the lowest trim? Unheard of. I was gonna get the 2019 Civic Sport Hatchback but I'd rather save money and get this.
@BudgeTechReviews5 жыл бұрын
I mean techinically the 2.0 premium is above the lowest trim but considering the price point this and the Elantra GT sport have a lot of great features for the price. You're welcome btw
@richardfranco32845 жыл бұрын
I'm actually looking into getting into this exact model as well so thanks for the review bro, very detailed. Like you I don't need anything fast so I think the 2.0 will get the job done. Crazy amount of tech for 22k. I'm looking at one by me that would be less than 21k with all the Hyundai rebates so this is a killer deal. Any updates since u made the vid? You still happy with this as a daily? FYI the trans is actually a 6speed auto not a DCT. The DCT is pretty quirky and inconsistent. A friend has one in his Elantra sport. Your better off with the standard six auto. Thanks!
@BudgeTechReviews5 жыл бұрын
I'm still loving this as my daily, my favorite part about this is the sport mode, throttle response and revs last a lot longer. I'm thinking about making another video but need ideas from my viewers lol.

Yeah I have a 2019 Premium has everything and then some. I'm not out to do 0-60 racing in it, it's a FUN care to drive and very peppy, not slow. I live in WV where it's all curves and hills and it takes them with easy, especially in sports mode. Not all about power folks, also it will definitely outlast any turbo, they fail WAY to much. Also no mustang or camaro (which I've owned) could keep up with the handling of this car on curvy roads, they would fly off the road into a ditch.. Awesome handling.

also smart mode is “eco mode” but its legit its name I just figured it out when you pedal to metal or like drive aggressively it flips to sport mode, without having you have to do so took me 3 months to figure that out.

I liked this car at first, then hated it, living in WV with hills, and curves isn't a bad thing. I mean this car is adequate, but on the interstate it's SOOOO underpowered. Had it for two weeks, traded it in for a nice SUV...never felt better. This is a truck/suv state, the car just felt unsafe, and like everyone was towering high above me. I felt like a grape waited to get squashed. lol Live and learn.

Exterior looks better than the 1.6t imo, then again i wouldn't want a 2.0 naturally aspirated after having driven a 1.6 turbo.

Plus, i currently have a Citroen DS3 (1.6 turbo, 155hp) And it's about 2 sec. faster than the 2.0 Veloster, but i don't want to jump straight to 270hp, i think 200hp would be the sweet spot for an upgrade.

Can't DOGG it, it moves, I have one as well and especially in Sports mode it's far form slow.If it weighed over 3000lbs throw it in the crusher, but it's just over 2,800lbs. Also the Atkinsons engine set up is great. I had two Z-24's with 2.4 150hp engines back in the early/mid 2000's, definitely my favorite cars of all time. Also had Camaros, Mustangs etc. NOT so fun imo. This is more about the ride/drive. Not the power. It handles the roads here in West Virginia like a rally car. The turbo is good too, I just don't trust them, for long term reliability. But I'm 45, not 25, looking to race or anything. ;o)
