The average price for 1 liter fuel in The Netherlands at this moment is €1,80. One USG is 3.7854 liter. So 3.7854 x 1,80 = €6,81. €6,81 Is equal to 7,64 USD. The fuel price in The Netherlands is 7,64 USD compared to 2,80 in the US. Thats 2.7 times as expensive. So a car that gets about 40 MPG costs the same to operate in my European country as this big V8 truck in the US. The costs of operating this Lexus LX570 is probably higher than operating a Toyota Corolla in The Netherlands. So please Americans dont complain about the fuel economy. Just take your advantage of living in a livable place.

I think it’s more of an image thing. Looove Land Cruiser AND Toyota TRD. But 570’s always in my heart, especially since it’s body-on-frame, and due to its luxury. A great vehicle-minus the fuel-efficiency of a Prius. I want ‘P’570, please! Haha. Thank you for a great video!

Looking at this,and knowing the pursuit of perfection Lexus is dedicated to,makes me wonder if that thing has any competitors at all. BMW X5 or X7,not even close.Mercedes G,off roading might be,but luxury,ride and build quality,far by a long shot. Audi..,give me a brake,its best SUV can compare with RX,not LX. The only reason why we dont see these beautiful monsters in our European roads,is because they are not sold with 2.0 diesels,or 1.8 4 potters engines,like most of the competition does ( Volvo XC,BMW,Audi,etc) And why would they sell? Its a proper luxury vehicle,and the philosophy of driving a luxury is that you would really afford it. Unlike the Germans with their S class and 220d.

Still cheap is Saudi Arabia. Here in Kenya it costs about 230k $ fully loaded and 190k $ for the base model (after tax). They don't sell like hotcakes here though since they're so expensive, probably about 100 on the roads. But the Land cruiser does sell quite well.

I know you said the seats are more comfortable in the LX570 vs the Land Cruiser. I was wondering how much difference there is. Is it a night and day difference or subtle? I have a 2009 Land Cruiser now and my only complaint is the seats. I really prefer the low key Toyota brand better but if the seats are night and day more comfortable might have to consider the 570 next. Thanks.

If the seats in your land cruiser bother you, the LX is a big step up in comfort. I had trouble with the LC seats too (I assume they haven’t really changed since 09). Also the GX seats are really good too if you’re willing to downsize a bit. In the LX and GX I felt like you could burn a tank of gas before you’d need to get out and stretch. Didn’t get that from the LC when I took it from Detroit to Pittsburgh...

TheTopher Just so glad they finally made the TVs on the back of the headrests an option. That was a deal breaker for me. How does comfort on the armrests compare as the Lexus looks more tapered down towards the switches and which screen do you like interacting with more? I always preferred the touchscreen but one benefit of the Lexus I’d think would be not needing to clean screen as much.

See, I had to Lemon law back my $60k Lexus GS due to a rattle that was coming for the A pillar. 3 other spare vehicles had rattle issues as well. It’s disheartening that Lexus has these issues.

@@haloppll Watch the video on it. He goes in depth. But being a GX owner myself, it's got a few things I personally find important that you don't get with the LX. It's very angular and doesn't waste any space, so it's exactly as spacious as you need, but not more, and its shape allows you to navigate it through tight locations very easily where an LX would struggle to pass because of its size and curves. The interior of the GX is simpler and more dated than the LX, but it is also no less comfortable, with ventilated leather seats, soft interior, and quality polished wood decorating the interior. If you don't need all the gadgets and features in the LX, the GX is certainly a good second pick. Plenty of features, but skips the things you might not really need to use regularly.

It'll need premium fuel. 91 octane at least. My GX runs on the same. You could look into the Land cruiser. Won't be quite as luxurious, but it'll still do the job. It has the same engine though, so I dunno if it'll need the same gas or whether is built to be more tolerant of lower octane fuel.

That depends on how long you intend to keep it. The Lexus will last you 15-20 years easily. The Lincoln will start having problems in 5-7 years. Range Rover maybe less since they are now owned by the Indian company TATA.

I love this Lexus but there are many things that are outdated about it, because it is an older platform, but there is nothing wrong with that it still is a great vehicle, but every vehicle has flaws and some more than others. Overall the Lexus is great but some flaws are that this Lexus can just add some newer stuff in the update. That being said it still is probably best in class because Lexus knows how to make a damn fine vehicle
