2019 Lexus NX 300h Review | Hybrid BETTER than Turbo 4?

The 2019 NX is largely unchanged from the 2018 model. After October 2018, all of these cars will be equipped with Apple Car play and possibly Amazon Alexa. This hybrid variant of the NX, would be my go-to choice for the NX lineup. 33mpg in town vs 22mpg on the turbo 4 cylinder. PLUS the hybrid doesn't require premium fuel unline the turbo.

I studied the Lexus NX series for months, as it is the size of SUV need. Constantly comparing to the new Rav4. I wanted a smaller SUV, but needed a bigger one for my work. So the NX was the perfect balance in size. I looked at the regular models and features, but I didn't like that you MUST use expensive Premium fuel with the Turbo. So I looked at the 300h. You can use Regular, and it gets better mileage than the Turbo model. Sold! I got it today. Wow, I love this car! I keep my cars for a long time, so I am excited to married to this car: 2019 NX300h Atomic Silver with caramel interior, Premium package. It was a dealer Loaner, so I got $10k off as used. I couldn't be happier.

I test drove it in Pgh yesterday in the gray fully loaded 2019. I loveeeed it. Opened it up and had some fun . Thanks for the fab review. By the way the grill was sharp, "sleek "as you say!

Very good comprehensive review! I got this hybrid model & love it! They gave me cheap wheels vs. alloy (Seattle Lexus) :(. Love the EV mode, no fumes while idling. EV battery does not last very long tho. Also best mileage l’ve gotten for this 2019 hybrid is 26.8. Normal is 26.4. Not even close to 33. Will try the eco display mode! Happy to hear about brake pad savings! Thanks.

After watching your reviews, I was hunting for this car in Australia and in August 2020, I purchased a graphite black 2019 NX300h Crafted Edition which had moonroof, electric illuminated door sills, 360 degrees cameras, front and rear parking sensors, rear traffic alert, lane keeping assist. I had $10k discounts because it was a loaner car. I always drive this car in sport mode and have achieved average 8.2l per 100kms (28mpg). Last weekend it was my first time to drive the car to the snowy mountain called Perisher Village. It is the last winter season in Australia. The fuel economy in sport mode was 7l per 100kms (33mpg). On the car, I had my wife and son and thought driving up hill and overtaking would slow the car down. I was completely wrong. Overtaking and driving up hill was easy in my opinion. If pressing the gas pedal harder, I would feel the electric motor and the fuel motor combining together to accelerate the car faster. From my home town to the Perisher village and return, the odometer was 450kms in total which was half a tank. In my opinion, it was pretty good. Our family had a great time.

2019 RAV 4 Hybrid does not have passenger power sit. On other hand price is almost at the same level.Plus, this trim of Lexus no wireless charge or memory sits.

The 2018 Lexus NX with the Exeuctive Package is the one to get. It has more features, such as a power outlet by the backseats, power recline rear-seats, wireless phone-charger under the driver arm-rest, and a heads up display.

At 33 mpg in city, and the brake pads lasting as long that you said, maybe I should trade in my 2018 Mazda GT3 hatchback. I'll I use it for mostly is beer and liquor delivery, put average 90 miles of city driving daily. It would be good work vehicle, if under $40K all in.

Would Lexus release a software upgrade to 2018 Nx300h to get Apple CarPlay? It shouldn't be that complicated... they could keep their old customers happy and earn some loyalty...wish Lexus can get little more smarter :)

Yes they are currently working on this. They should have a dealer installed update out by the end of this year for 2018 NX's and ACPlay. It will probably cost at least $200

I meant hybrid Nx F sport, I am considering Ux 250h f sport and this one if there is hybrid version available for NX. From your videos, looks like the mpg of Ux 250h is better than Nx.

UX 250h gets about 40mpg. The NX 300h gets about 30mpg. NX hybrid is unavailable in f sport to my knowledge. UXh might be faster than the nxh.

Depends on the car. NX 300 premium is recommended because of the Turbo 4. NX 300h is happy to run on regular. Cheers.

Hybrid one definitely gets better gas mileage but doesn't come with f sport and awd is not powerful as gas one :)

I would rather take the previous generation facelift RX over the NX like the 14 model or so In my opinion I prefer the non hybrid although I got the 10 rx450h I would not buy another hybrid The CVT and start stop of engine becomes annoying after some time At first you like it becauae it's new but with time it's irritating And maybe becuasy mine is a 10 the hybrid tech is not as advanced hardly have any electric range and engine is being used most of the times Take off is also really slow.... Next vehicle is either facelift rx350 or a sl8ghkty older land cruiser 200 or the LX with the 4.5 twin turbo diesel v8

Awful review people must be sad if they liked this. First of all read up on what you are going to review, secondly at least get a decent grade car version to do the view on. Thirdly learn how to video while you are faffing about. I never got to the end as I was so irritated.
