I bought this car. Mines an Orange flare color on the exterior. Mines a 19 Maxima SR with premium package. I absolutely love it

My budget is $750 for a vehicle (not counting insurance) and i crossed shopped a 2017 Bmw 335i, 2017 Audi A4 and A5 (yes a coupe) 2017 Maxima and a 2017 Charger R/T. Long story short got a Fully specked 17' Maxima SL for $409 A month! The car is a beast and rivals the other so called "PREMIUM " vehicles.

Great choice! The Maxima offers soo much for the money and has the power!

Nice review. I'm a mechanical engineer and I bought one back in 2016 because it takes off like a rocket. People just don't know what this car is capable of.
@DFWsCars5 жыл бұрын
Agree, the engine is pretty great, and the engineering solid. Really hope it sticks around for a next gen one- hopefully with AWD.

This does not look like a Nissan don't care what ppl say about this car this is the best looking car ever absolutely love the mid cycle such an beautiful car for the money can live without AWD and CVT isn't bad for me.
@DFWsCars5 жыл бұрын
It’s a very beautiful car for sure. It seems they’re going more Luxury than sport as well which is the same as some competitors.

Take the Infiniti q5O for example. You could spend well past 50k for a fully loaded q50 but even in that high price range you won't find cooled seats in a q50. The Maxima is a great choice if you disregard it's transmission
@DFWsCars5 жыл бұрын
Totally agree! 👍🏼

It's a smoother transmission also.

agree with some points if u looking for interior design and stuff like that, Maxima design quality and look of materials is top notch comparing to q50 no doubt on that but what q50 gives u in terms of performance especially those incredible engines they have, Maxima is not even close to that, no comparison, I am not talking even about AWD in q50 I am talking abt the engines and the performance u get out of that is no Maxima but depend what u look for, I had Maxima so I know and now I have q50, no comparison to Maxima in terms of performance at all!

When did this one come out? Given the price it seems a fun car. I liked it last time I drove one.

I just had a 2019 Maxima SL for a rental recently. I really liked it tbh but I like my 2015 Chevrolet SS better
@DFWsCars5 жыл бұрын
Good competitor on the used market which I hadn’t thought of because the V8 to me puts it in a different class. SS is great, & glad the Maxima was a good rental for ya!

The sport trim is better?

The SR has a larger stabilizer bar, stiffer springs, and retuned dampers so it should handle quite well.

Save your money folks and go with something else. Your CVT will eventually fail even with routine maintenance! I bought my 2012 Maxima brand new and had it serviced regularly. Transmission began to slip around 80k, and it just went out/failed today at 107k. I've been looking online and a new transmission is about $3k. Hesitant though, why install a new CVT that will eventually fail too?! The tow truck driver even stated that the transmissions in Nissans are faulty. Sh*t sucks! Wont ever buy another Nissan until they drop the CVTs! Please do your research, alot of people are having issues with these cars/this brand and their CVTs. Everyone claims that the "newer" models are more reliable, but I wouldn't spend another $35k-$40k to find out!

Nice Vehicle... Even though I like Nissan I recommend getting it in white or silver otherwise the paint will peel in around 5 years
@DFWsCars5 жыл бұрын
Interesting, my old Altima was white. Did you mean pale btw? I wonder if this is something they fixed. All the recent Nissans I’ve seen have really good looking paint & our pearl white one was gorgeous and held up well over the years- all I did was add wax over the clear coat.
@DFWsCars5 жыл бұрын
Saw you meant peel. Did seem a lot of those were in snowy areas & with Rogue- but weird. Seems Nissan customer care was taking care of some of the ones after inspection. 🤷🏻♂️

@@DFWsCars maybe they fixed it I don't know,but the Pearl White seems to be their best quality color

Dark rims against a dark colored car are atrocious. There is 0 contrast and from a distance I mistake them for donut rims. Also, the Plat Res is the only one I’d consider since the light colored headliners look cheap

No idea why you would buy a fwd, CVT car that costs more than a Kia Stinger GT in RWD or AWD guise and a 8 speed auto. Then there is the whole LSD thing as well. As you pointed out, 300hp through the front wheels and an open diff is too much. In a bubble, the Maxima is okay. When you factor price and what is put there, it's not compelling
@DFWsCars5 жыл бұрын
I cut for time (review was 20 min, try to stay closer to 10) where I point out this car is the reason cars like the Stinger exist, but over time went more luxury- (softer). This feels like a baby Cadenza. The Optima felt lighter on its feet, & dynamically better chassis wise. That said- I may go to a dealer to test out the SR as I could feel there was sportiness, it was just being let down by the suspension tuning/roll bars.
@DFWsCars5 жыл бұрын
Btw- I got to review the Stinger GT on track. That was one car where (at least on a track) it didn’t live up to the hype (I would take the Veloster N for the same money). It felt like a 3 series with no M sport- there wasn’t body roll, the suspension obliged but you could tell it hated you for pushing it- if that makes sense. We had a 60 mile limit- I was taking turns at 30 & could have pushed it to 40 but didn’t really want to. 🤷🏻♂️. Dunno- I still want them to loan me one to see if perhaps the one I drove was a fluke.
