Great help. Thanks! I'd like to position my new dashcam exactly where you did. My '19 1500 Limited has a plastic housing behind the rearview, that's firmly against the windshield. I'm not sure yet what to do about bridging the wire from under the headliner, to the other side of the housing, to the passenger side of the mirror.

My dash cam wiring kit has one hot lead for switched and one for unswitched??

But most dash cams have the parking mode for motion and if somebody hits you so a constant on would be nice also What number is that one located at. The dash cam would be off but if it detected an accident or motion it wakes up and it records it I think on the setup you got it wouldn't work most of the newer ones have this option on it

I have had problems with it draining battery over time. Many camera reviews report similar results

The 2021 RAM 1500 Lariat gives you an option for F54 to be either "battery fed" or "ignition fed". F54A is positioning the fuse to the left (battery fed). F54B is to move the fuse to the right (Ignition fed). F54 powers the 12V outlet in front center console.

Brother I think you're the only person on KZbin that did a hardwire - cam install on a 5th generation RAM and I thank you for it. But I do have a question, I have the rexing V1 and it requires one fuse plug to go into an always-on connection and another one to go into the ignition trigger connection like yours has. I found a Hotwire that's always on and I found one that was only triggered by the ignition and the things still won't work. Any suggestions?

Are there 2 locations on this truck for the same type of connection? I want to hardwire both my RV backup cam and my dash cam. Can I tap the tap? Put a second kit on top of this one?

is there a fuse that's "hot" - always powered? my dash cam has the "parking mode" - it requires 1 cord to the 'battery' - one to another fuse - and the ground...

I believed f33 is a hot fuse from what I’ve read in forums.

I have the same dash cam and same set up. On a 2020 ram. The dash cam will not turn into "park mode" when truck is off, any ideas?

you may have connected it to a wire thats always on whether the truck is running or not, youll have to find a circuit that is switched with the ignition.

@@hanksgarage_ when I use the tester the F66 slot is off when truck is off but the camera and mic stays on and after like a day or so the camera turns off so I'd have to unplug it and plug it back in

That fuse panel is no longer under the dash for 2021 rams, mine is 2021 ram 2500 6.7L diesel. You have to wire it from F104 slot from the fuse box under the hood. Then run the wire through the firewall.
