I hear all your comments. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic 4×4 that I've had nothing but problems with for 2 years. Specifically: Try to start the truck and nothing. Instrument Panel is lit but key does nothing. Take the key out and watch the Instrument panel and after about 20 seconds, without the key or opening the door, it lights up again. Now mind you, I HATE taking a car to a dealer but did when it started happening. They reprogrammed the key fobs, charged me $80, and sent me on my way. Several days later, same thing. It's happened so many times since, but I've been able to finally get it to start. I have replaced the battery just in case, but in my opinion this type of problem is systemic, albeit in various forms, with the computer, pcm, or whatever other electronics are involved. Currently I'm at Red Robin eating my to go food because my F'NG TRUCK WON'T START and I have to go thru the ritual of different things I've learned that have worked in the past. But as Dave Chapelle said in the movie The Nutty Professor, "I can't take this sh@t no more" So having it towed to the Dealership, so they can throw parts at it until, hopefully they have a mechanic trained enough on using an electrical scope to figure out what's going on with the voltage. I'll let you know what I find out

My 2019 is not starting. It came down to a cracked window frame. The sliding window is the back. Caused a leak when it rained and got into the RF Hub. Chrysler Care refuses to cover it. Looking for others who have similar issues. Have you ever noticed condensation inside the truck after a rain? You are probably experiencing leaks as well. Considering a class-action lawsuit against Ram until the agree to fix this problem.

My 2020 is in the same boat. Left me stranded in the middle of a corn field in ND hunting. New battery, multiple new starters, rf hub and ignition. I replaced multiple oem mopar starters but this one (my trucks in shop right now) using an aftermarket starter. After a bunch of research oem starters are bad. I’ll report back once I’ve got some miles on it. Nothing worse than having a semi new truck that you’re always worried won’t start.

Had similar issues a month or so ago. Got stranded multiple times. Finally had the starter replaced... seemed to be some corrosion on the terminals. Started fine a couple of times then happened again! Mechanic then swapped the battery and has worked perfectly until this morning. I went to open it withe fob and nothing. Was forced to open it with the physical and the alarm went off. I tried starting it at the ignition... nothing. Tried turning off the alarm with the fob... nothing. Finally had to manually disconnect battery to save my neighbors from listening to the alarm at 7am on a Sunday. I have a 2019 w/ the hemi an etorque. Has approx 62k miles. Absolutely loved this truck and literally bought it outfit the lease 1 week ago w/ an extended warranty. I guess next step is to try and get it in to the dealers. Hope they can resolve otherwise this purchase is going to be a disaster.

That’s so crazy! It seems to be that 2019 models with eTorque are seriously troublesome! I wonder if you might be experiencing a dead Fob, since your alarm is actually going off. That tells me the system isn’t totally discharged, at least. I don’t recall mine ever setting the alarm off when I used the physical key, but not one other feature was working either. I would absolutely make the dealership work on your behalf. You did the smart thing and purchased an extended warranty, which I would have done if I had decided to keep mine any longer. Put that deductible to good use if you have to! If it starts to turn into a wild goose chase, I’d try to capitalize on the high trade-in values these things have right now!

2019 Ram Rebel, just got stranded. Got to go back tomorrow morning, and get it jumped. After reading multiple reviews, and watching other vids, seems like a very common issue for others. Very upsetting cause none of us want to pay this much for a truck, just to get stranded somewhere. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Exactly! Sucks to hear it’s happened to another unsuspecting Ram owner. I loved my truck and I’m sure you love yours, so it’s definitely frustrating when this stuff happens. Seems like as these early 5th Gen models age, they really start to show their ugly side. It really is disappointing. I hope you’re able to get ‘er going and at least get it to a shop for diagnosis!

2020 ram 1500 39k, no crank, no start, it just clicks! Tapped on the starter on 2 separate occasions and it started. Took it to a mechanic, they have had it for over a week to recreate the issue. They don't think it's the starter though! No factory warranty but they think the dealer may have to scan it. I don't know, probably gonna have them do the starter. Already changed the battery last month! Sigh, any solutions here? Thanks

You know, it could definitely be something very normal. What I’ve seen is that it’s either incurable or it’s something as weird as a bad fob battery mixed with a bad main battery or eTorque battery. I really hope they are able to get you fixed up! They’re too nice of trucks for this to be plaguing them!

So I have an issue with my 2019 ram 1500 it's a hemi. When I noticed the problem it probably had 95k miles on it.. last summer battery died. We replaced it. My truck is a push start, got in pushed the button and wouldn't start I thought maybe I didn't push it in all the way.. repushed and it started up. Done that a few times didn't think anything about it. Well now it's to the point where it starts when it wants. You can remote start it, it turns over UNTIL you hit the start button and truck shuts off. Jumped the truck got it started took it to auto zone and they replaced the battery. *keep in mind we just replaced the battery last year* so I had them check the alternator.. they said it's good. Got back home tried to start it back up and nothing. Thought it was just low gas level. Got gas it turned over. Got home shut it off and wouldn't restart. So unless I get a jump.. 75% of the time it won't start by its self. It will make a clicking sound lights and radio works so idk what it's problem is. I hope it's not electrical. ** also noticed last couple days I thought it was the weather when we (in pa) about a month ago had a cold spell thought it was the battery** but like I said last couple days if the truck was still warm when I'd turn it back over it would start didn't need a jump. But if the truck is cold I need jumped. So frustrated with this issue.

I have a 2019 Limited (87,000mi) and my wife has a 2019 Challenger (31,000mi). Both of our key fobs went out in both vehicles the other night. I thought it could've been the battery but I just put a new one in mine a few months ago. Then I thought it could've been the cold weather bc it was pretty cold that night but we've had other cold nights. The following morning I had to use the key to get into the car and the alarm went off. The car wouldn't start and I couldn't shut it off. I removed the alarm fuse. Finally. I was able to start her car by pushing the start button with the FOB. Later in the day when I used the push start on my truck it worked. Now, today my truck won't start. The battery and the Fob work but the truck won't crank. Today was another cold day but my wife didn't have any issues with her car.. YET. Someone on another video stated there was a 2nd battery on the Hemi. I'm researching that now.

I don't know if we had the same problem but I took my 2019 Ram Rebel. I took it into the dealership and they replaced the battery and updated the PCM and did other check and fixes. the truck now runs like a bat-out-of-hell. Example: the time it took to get to 89mph is the same time it takes to go to 125mph. Before, if I got it to start up when I turned it off, it wouldn't start again. I'm thinking about having someone ride with me so I can leave the truck running as I do my errands! =D Inclosing, make sure you turn off all your electrical devices. Leaving your fan, ac, etc. on when you turn your engine off will kill your battery! In closing, test your battery. If it's not registering 14.7 amps (+ -) You will have trouble starting you truck!

Similar issue but maybe not exactly the same.2019 Ram Rebel, bought brand new. 50k miles. Has stranded me 2x now over 150 miles from home!!! Symptom: truck drives fine to the distant destination, park at hotel. Go to start it up later and it won’t start. Battery, Starter, Alternator all test out okay. Got it jumped and drove it all the way home (150+ miles). Next day, EVERY possible warning message comes on the screen and it won’t start, once again. Won’t even turn over. Messages like “ Not in Park” and “Traction Control needs service” - literally EVERY possible “needs service” message comes up! 50k miles and it’s leaving me stranded 2x!!! Very frustrating! Thanks for posting your video.

Sounds familiar!! My Ram would slam into park randomly, of course had the “no start” condition on several occasions. This was my worst fear, being 150+ miles from home and having the truck just lay down on me. Just the constant thought of not knowing what was going to happen every time I went out to the truck was enough to make me trade out of it. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one, but I hate to see you having these issues. Hopefully you can resolve them! Please let us know if you and your dealer get them fixed and how!!

Literally going through this right now. 2019 Ram Classic w/Hemi and 48k on it. Just purchased it 3 weeks ago and has stranded me twice so far. Dealership has been okay about it so far. They replaced the PCM and a harness 1 week ago and it ran fine for 6 days. Yesterday morning tried to start it and the dash flashed several times and the truck will not turn over to start. Turned the key on and off several times and finally it started. Check engine light stayed on with several warning messages. Same symptoms as the first time I took it in. I will try to post again once the dealership has an update for me. Seems like a pretty common occurrence around 50k miles on these. Hopefully it gets figured out soon

Wow, I hate to hear that you’re going through this too! This is the first I’ve heard of issues with the Classic models. Sounds like your dealership is really trying to fix the issue, which is nice to hear, especially with 48k on the clock. I don’t recall my dash lights ever flashing, but I did have the same key cycling with no start issue. The dealership replaced the ignition switch, of course, which was a bandaid for a few months. Eventually we are right back where we started, much like yourself. Hopefully they can pinpoint your issue and get it handled. If you love your Ram like I loved mine, you probably don’t want to let go of it, but I’m my case it just made more sense to trade out of it once the issue was somewhat stable. I’m interested to hear how it turns out!

Update: the dealership had it for another 5 days and brought in a Dodge/Chrysler specialist. They went through the entire truck and found that an aftermarket trailer brake may have been causing the issue. The trailer brake controller power was spliced from the ignition power source. They removed it and ran it for 2 days. I have had it back for 8 days and put close to 500 miles on it with no problems. Fingers crossed that the trailer brake controller was the issue🤞🏼

@@chadf7129 Good news! That’s best case scenario, especially if you really do like the truck and want to keep it. Hopefully it was something simple like that causing your issue. I didn’t have any aftermarket wiring on mine, so unfortunately there wasn’t anything glaring that could have caused it!

Thank you for your video I currently own A 2021 RAM 1500 V6 eTorque 22k miles Just bought it. I left my truck sit for two days and in those two days it was freezing cold. Came Monday morning . Car wouldn’t even lock or unlock, dash board lights did not come on, radio wouldn’t turn on . I try putting my key fob on the push to start button and do the emergency jump start …..nothing ….. It let me put my e break on and turn on my head lights. But once I locked my e break it did not let me take it off. When it came to take the truck to the dealer I couldn’t take off the e break and was not able to put the truck in neutral. Tow truck took it with its trunk up . This is a nightmare. I hope the dealer doesn’t charge me. I’ve had too many issues with this truck and I am considering going with a different truck. Ps. None of my key fobs are reading the car signal.(new batteries were added to the fob ) I’ll keep you posted .

We are having this issue with our 2019 rebel. Ram cares has been covering work - so far - even though it doesn’t technically fall under warranty. First we replaced the back window (apparently the 2019’s window seal pops easily) and then the RF Control module that sits below the window. Thought we fixed it, did not fix. Now we are looking at replacing the TIPM, PCM, or ECM. As well as the tech checking every wire on the truck and ensuring there’s no faults. I’m thinking it’s the TIPM as that’s what signals your alternator to charge your battery. But if the TIPM malfunctions, it may not let your truck start, may not charge your battery, and in general can cause havoc. I’m waiting on Ram Cares to approve the next round of work.

I under stand about the comfort level, sometimes you just have a gut feeling that something isn’t right. Unfortunately, these things are so packed with electronics anymore that it’s a wild goose chase when something non-mechanical goes haywire. That’s why I like my Super Duty. There’s just not a whole lot going on there, but the appointments are still nice enough for me to enjoy it!

It’s hard to say, it seems to be more and more common with these. It was the eTorque 5.7 Hemi. I doubt the motor had anything to do with my issues in particular, but I do think the charging system is flawed.

That’s a good preventative measure. I’m not sure that would have mattered much for me, as I do a lot of highway driving, so the stop/start doesn’t kick on as much. The first bit of my issues started coming on around 50k, so definitely keep an eye out. I put about 10k on it before it started happening again, but once it started back up, the problems just kept coming.

Yesterday, my 2019 Ram 1500 battery was dead and I have it jump started, immediately I found a few issues like the air conditioning stopped functioning and a couple keys on dash board stopped working. Also engine light turn on. I left it overnight, the second day I found everything pretty much went back to normal, all keys are working but engine light is still on. So I have to bring it to a mechanic to get it fixed today.

I can’t believe how many comments I have been getting recently for these no-start or no power conditions on 19 and 20 1500s. The best thing I can suggest is to press your dealership to find the problem. Unfortunately, most of these trucks are going out of warranty, so we’re on our own. That was ultimately the reason I traded mine in once it was somewhat stable. I wish you the best of luck. I don’t mind to be a resource if you need info!

Having similar issues with my 2015 Laramie ...3 new starters in 1 yr plus just replaced the battery...seems to start/no start whenever it feels like. Sat to say I won't ever buy a Ram again espically seeing all the similam issues people are having with even newer trucks. RAM needs to fix these electrical issues or will just lose more business. When people ask how I like my truck I just tell them the truth,,,,Not very much this past year ! Oh back to Ford for me !

I had a similar issue with my ‘19 Ram. I was on one of the forums, can’t remember which one and apparently they put junk stock batteries and put in the 19’s. There was something about the ECM may go bad if the battery discharges too far? Maybe something to look at.

First off, thank you for sharing this! I can definitely see that, because my battery went bad and I didn’t have any problems until it finally died on me. After that, nothing but issues. I’ve since gotten rid of the Ram in favor of a Super Duty, which I’ve reviewed on the channel.

From what I’ve seen of others in a similar situations, it could be anything. It seemed mine stemmed from the ignition, but others I’ve chatted with had either bad ground connection, faulty coil packs, and one had a wiring harness with an split wire. The best thing to do, if it’s still under warranty is let a dealership document and diagnose it. I’ve heard that some Jeep models are having similar issues. Kind of scary, but it’s good to know that it’s probably not just a fluke. FCA needs to get their hands around these gremlins.

2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn would not start. Windows rolled down fine, lights & radio worked. Jumped started battery & truck turned on. Figured we left a light on or something. An hour later, truck wouldn't start again & required another jump start. Took vehicle into AutoZone to test battery. It passed. They said it was the starter or ignition push button. Next day I took truck to the shop after another jump start. They couldn't start the vehicle & had to jump it. They said it was the battery & tested everything. Several items came back with codes, including transmission & AC. They replaced battery & it started up just fine. Truck has been running normally for a week until today. Check engine light just came on. WTF?! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I've got a 2019 limited. Still under warranty, won't start, no power with anything, lights no nothing. Scott Robinson dealership is not very helpful. The STAR engineers have no clue. Been in the shop for 10 days, not much has been done. I have zero confidence in this truck and Chrysler is of no help. I loved this truck up to this point, not now.

I really hate to hear all these issues starting to pop up more often now. It’s good that you’re still under warranty, because depending on what the problem is, it’ll likely be expensive. Mine sat for a little over a week before they decided they THOUGHT it was an ignition switch. Unfortunately it happened a few more times after that. Ram has a beautiful truck inside and out, comfortable too, but reliability is hit or miss. I think I’d rather have reliability over looks any day. Ever since I traded it in on my Super Duty, I haven’t looked back.

My 2019 has 75000 miles and a Hemi engine. Starts great no issues. Had to turn it off in rainy weather and restart for whatever reason and it wouldn't restart. Had all lights, all power, ignition push start lights worked, lights on the dash worked, radio, windows, you name it....they all worked, push the button and.....nothing. Code reader says no issues. My guess is start as it does nothing but has power. Someone told me it could be the push button start or starter. I've read all these comments and it seems like an ongoing issue. Is there not a service bulletin or anything on this? I gave it an hour and pushed brake and button started right up. I turned it off and restarted it three more times. Started fine. This morning went out, no start again. Weirdest thing.
