We have a 2019 Ram in the shop we just completed a mono block installation in, so we decided to go over some of the planning and challenges when it comes to doing a sound system upgrade.

Two type R 12’s in my ram 3500 in a fox acoustics box ( back seat raised 5/8” not noticeable ) with two Fosgate amps mounted on an amp rack on the back wall. Raising the seat also allows the seat back to fold down giving access to amps for adjustment and dusting. It hits freaking hard!!!

I bought a JL Audio Stealthbox for my 2014 Ram 1500 with a 10w3v3-2 which sits under the rear passenger seat. Sounds absolutely fantastic and ppl can't believe it is a single 10. When I bought my 2020, I found the box fit just fine and the seat holds in it place. I haven't found a reason to replace it not to mention the stealthboxes for the 5th gen are 1500 bucks....

Can't remember off the top of my head. We use databases to get an idea for components then we test and verify after.

How much would something like this cost me? Without removing factory sub. Simply adding a aftermarket amp and sub the cleanest way possible as my truck is a lease and want to be able to remove everything at the end and make it look as if nothing was ever there.

There's a Stealbox from JL Audio now that will sit nicely under the seat. You will probably want to remove the factory sub enclosure to make room for the amplifier. It can all be reversed.

Crutchfield is showing this amp doesn’t work for the 2019 Ram 1500. Any idea why? I wanted to buy this amp, but want to make sure it’ll work. I have a PAC AmpPro, and my truck has the factory Alpine

Most amp all use the same type of input. Not sure why they say it won't work.

We typicallg unplug or remove ANC systems and install sound deadening. Is there an advantage to using the box you suggest?

2 part epoxy, or if you have time to let it set, PL Premium construction adhesive.

You can search ANC wiring disable for the Ram online and some people have write ups with diagrams.

Typically there is a ANC piece, you’ll have to find where it is and you can unplug it if you don’t want to have to cut any wires, sometimes they can be a pain in the ass to get too

Just wondering, why wouldn't you just hardwire the amp and set the bass level on the amp to max or where it sounds fair, and have a frequency splitter box tied into the factory subwoofer, (with or without it plugged in) and then the splitter is putting the oem subs signal into the amps input. This way you wouldn't need the bass dial, just adjust the entire baseline from the factory deck. I've done this before on a new 2017 Ford focus. And for convenience have the amplifier hooked up on a hidden toggle switch to the remote-on input. (I.e. switch inside the center console and then its on on demand or off after long road trips.) In this case you might not need the splitter as I had it wired from door speakers, maybe just rout the oem woofer wires directly to the amps input?

Clipping issue? And no I didn't. That would make more sense because the oem subs may have power for the sound but the factory door speakers were just lower watt audio signals. Theoretically you should be able to tie into any door speaker for an amp input signal, because the splitter box separated strictly the low frequency from the speaker. And as you adjust the factory decks bass, say to +3, you won't blow the speakers and the sub will have a boosted input

Thanks for the video. Is there a way to pull a signal to an amp without disabling ANC? From head unit? I want to keep ANC as it quiets the cabin from the truck’s frame and powertrain harmonics.

There is a piece from Rockford that let's you integrate but I believe it's still going to disable or limit the ANC. The problem if ANC is intact and you avoid the feedback issue, you're asking the speakers to play music AND the opposit frequencies entering the cab. ANC is a cheap replacement for sound deadening. It's cheaper to pay an engineer to figure out a system vs installing material. This is the best way to reduce noise and increase sound quality kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4qmi5mZnamYfJY

Anyways, I just got a subwoofer and I want to run it, but I don’t know where to run the RCA jack and the ignition switch for it, would this device help me out? I don’t want to bring it to a shop. You can get accessory turn on from the cigarette lighter port with the ignition symbol on it. You'll need to grab audio signal from behind the head unit and use an Audio Control LC2i kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIjZamWMZ7loZ5o

Yup had the factory amp, no rumbling because we disabled the mics.

Used the sub output. You need to look up the wires test and verify incase the colors change.

You don’t need to use self powered LOCs. You can just use one that only has the RCA inputs.

@@dw8327 yes I typically tap into the rear speakers when there isn’t a factory sub when I do this. DO NOT JUST CUT THE WIRE AND PUT THE LOC IN LINE WITH ONLY ELECTRICAL TAPE. I have had to work on plenty of cars that keep blowing fuses because the electrical tape came off and the wires started grounding out.
