On a different note, why is nearly a every car a “poor man’s” version of something else in the range. If you own a C Class is it just a poor man’s S class, is a 911 GTS just a poor man’s GT3, is the bigger Range Rover just a poor man’s RR SVR? Why do people feel it necessary to judge a car against the more expensive version and look down on it by comparison?

Rory, your a solid journalist and this isn’t the bbc where you have to worry about appealing to non car enthusiasts. You don’t have to resort to the gimmicks you used on top gear to get your message across. What we want to see it’s a legitimate review where we can see your genuine reaction to the car, good or bad doesn’t matter so long as it’s real. For example, you could have taken the car through a more extreme off road course and been genuinely surprised at its competence, even if it couldn’t tackle all the obstacles we would be able to see the limits (provided Range Rover and the insurance company allowed it of course). Then for the city section you could have done an old mill city with horrible roads, because let’s be honest that’s half the reason people buy small SUV’s, city’s don’t take care of the roads and we have potholes that will swallow a fiat 500. The whole race against the goats thing and the random fake pregnant lady didn’t add anything to the information we wanted if anything it may have detracted. Hope that was a little more constructive than “I thought I was watching top gear”, and no worries some of your other reviews were fine, just remember your audience.

Cmon Rory.. Looking at the video edit I reckon you would get a Camry up that trail just as fast. That isnt off road, its a dirt road. The sad thing is as an Evoque owner you have just completely diminished any real off road ability the Evoque has by punting it up a flat smooth dirt road claiming that it demonstrates the off road ability. I consistently rate the Carfection channel as one of the best on KZbin, this video is a step in the wrong direction. I know you are better than this and I know the car is better than this. Give it the justice it deserves and make something special that I know you are capable of creating.

Please don't make videos in this style anymore. It doesn't feel like Carfection. Having said that, I'm looking forward to the next one.
