I love a good workshop tour! Last one I did, my workshop was a balcony on the side of our 2nd floor apartment! I need to make a new tour video...I now have a two-stall garage, though I'm only allowed to take up one third of it!

Nice video of your shop, I'm glad I watched it. You are good on camera, apologies for my previous dizzy comment 😳I've been a carpenter for 38 years and I see all these fancy shops with Sawstop table saws and to most it seems intimidating! I agree that you don't need high end tools to get good results. I'm building our kitchen cabinets at the moment with a sears saw with a decent 52" fence. It's giving good results. Your video will be inspirational to lots of viewers, its good to have a hobby. I don't, I just work with wood all week and in my spare time. Does this mean it's my hobby or that I don't have a life? 🤔 Enjoy and thanks for the tour 👍🏻

I do a lot of the same things. Everything is on wheels to make it easier to move and create more space at the same time. I being in Texas though, can work outside in our brutal 70 deg winters. Thank you for the taking the time to share your ideas and also your “ man cave “ .

I also really like the board that holds spring clamps, probably the best I have seen. I am definitely going to modify and use it! Thanks.

I wish i could claim it as my idea, but I stole it from somewhere. The nice thing about it is that I can grab the whole thing off the clamp rack and have all the spring clams wherever I need them.

Thanks for taking the time to do this and inspiring me to finally get around to doing a '19 shop tour myself. You have inspired a few changes that I will be implementing in my shop right away.

"Stupid cat", I had to lol each time you said that. I often say the same about my dog when she gets in the way. Thanks for the tour, it's so cool not only seeing the tools but also knowing your logic for your choices. You have a nice well equipped shop!

what no FesTard tools?... you can't build anything nice if you dont have a $1000 track saw or DomiNo-thanks... LOL.... your a man after my own heart, I have never personally ever bought anything full retail, my wife did gift me the same ridgid sander, I would have never got one new.... I have a handful of harbor freight stuff... including a 10" miter saw that's over 6yrs old and works perfect... and a HF pocket hole jig thats 1000% better than those kreg plastic things.... I could go on for hours about youtube money wasters.... I also have a basement shop... in a house over 100yrs old so the basement is only 6'-2" and I'm 6' tall.... the slab in the basement is maybe 2" thick and rough as hell with potholes ..... so anyway , its always nice to see other people using their heads not just there wallets...

Yeah, but a lot of my tools are green-ish, so does that count? I came real close to getting a HF miter saw, but the Kobalt came on sale which put it close money-wise. I too have the HF pocket hole jig, and I love it. Maybe I should do a video on all my HF stuff....
@CementRoots5 жыл бұрын
@@FranklinWoodWorks2016 ya HF gets a bad wrap, you just have to know what to buy and what to shy away from.... as for the powertools, its all from china , no matter what the brand... I have that same oscillating multi-tool you have... its worked perfect for years and years... as for my main tools, about 6yrs ago I found an old dude that was selling all his stuff.... I got a Jet table saw, Jet 14" band saw, Jet 6" jointer, and a 10" radial arm saw ... all for $500... anyway doing a video on your HF stuff would be cool.... heres a link to the mount I made for my HF pocket hole jig instagram.com/p/BrubXKhgXp2/

Nice video Rob. I always enjoy seeing how other people keep their shop organized not that I ever will be organized but I still like getting ideas. :-)
