Completely agree , i had a 07 and loved it. Now i have a 2019 tacoma and have to say i'm just as pleased , runs great and the only difference is back seat is a little tighter fit . In a few years i will definitely go back into a tundra because i need a little more space in the back with growing teens. But both models are great and the biggest thing is toyotas are very reliable..

It sounds like the 2020 Tundra will have a power seat, 8 inch infotainment with apple CarPlay and android auto, push button start and possibly automatic headlights. Toyota knows the Tundra is bulletproof reliable that is why they make incremental changes to it. If ain't broke, don't fix it aka make subtle changes.

For what tundra is known for. 1. Only truck that can tow space shuttle. 2. Only truck that can make 1 million miles on single engine without any repairs. 3. Highest resale value of any truck. 4. Toyota sells the tundra as a half ton truck but it’s underpinning are 3/4 ton. unlike ford Chevy and ram which use fully boxed frame Toyota uses a triple Tex frame meaning fully boxed up front from the Bumper to cab and then for the cab it is double open C channel and then from the end of the cab to the rear bumper is just an open C channel and Toyota uses that to help with ride compliance.

Alternator went out acpl months after that they also took care of that for me. With regular maintenance I've had no other issues. I've even towed my friends Jflight trailer groom Portland Oregon to Modesto Cali once...NO ISSUES! Yes i know somebody's going to say why a 4.7 and no 4x4 lol. They are fun to adjust in front of the garage door at nite to see them go up and down and find the sweet spot.. The only thing I don't care for is the "Etune" system.. outdated.. Hope they upgraded.. The blank spots that you mention are for features only offered on the Canadian market, like the one next to the USB/AUX port is the heated seats and the other one to the right of the steering wheel is the parking sensor. They wouldn't put blank plugs for no reason makes no sense lol You usually see it in lower trim packages where only the higher trim have that feature. The Canadian TRD Pro's also come with BSM and factory spray in bed liner at no extra cost.

A proud owner of a 2021 TRD Pro double cab, and I bought it at the end of 2020 so I got a great deal on it. Bottom line, the best value on the market hands down is the Tundra. People complain about the mpg, but the entry costs to get an equally equipped F-150 is going to be around $14,000 more plus twin turbo maintenance costs, and you'd have to drive 110,000 miles to get your entry costs back over the Tundra. Don't even get me started on the repair costs of an F-150 vs a Tundra.

Yup, We pull 6,000 Lbs + Camper and our Tundra Pro hasn't let us down. I'm so happy towing with this package that I'm not changing a thing. We live in the north west mountains, We pulled through severely bad storms, crazy winds and passing semis pulling triples at 85 mph in the flatlands and I love our truck camper setup. Our small setup also let's us take some very bad roads and camp where most travelers can't. Today, I'm looking for a new truck, but I don't want to sale my 2012 Tundra. We are thinking about 3/4 ton or just getting a newer Tundra...just for the larger gas tank, makes it a good idea, lol. :) Thanks for all the advice, your always spot on with your towing experience and good safe advice for travelers, please keep up the good work!

I feel it doesn’t need parking sensors because it’s an off road truck and that is annoying off road. I know some trucks you can turn that feature off but just another thing to replace if you hit the bumper off-road. I realize this truck will never see it’s full potential off-road so the sensors would be needed. Great Review as always. I appreciate you being unbiased and just give the facts! @@pesomistic7656 respectfully I disagree. Yes, there is a understanding that if you buy a truck then you will get worse fuel mileage. But there is no way that these trucks (acually all manufacturers) with it being 2019 are getting the same mileage as years ago. They all should be way better then what they are and I feel that we should expect more from them all. As consumers I feel we shouldn't just accept the BS that the truck manufacturers are giving us. We should expect & demand more. These trucks are getting into crazy selling prices. Yes, there capability has increased but the technology is out there for manufacturers to increase the mileage if they really really wanted to. It is up to us as a consumers to be ok and willing to pay the price for the technology and accept the technology as it might not be a big V8 that we get. So let's all embrace the technology and demand the continued reliability but its time for way better fuel mileage. I will pay for the new technology if its advancements that make sense. I am ok with less interior wizzy technology but I just want a truck that keeps up with the times and really surprises us and the competition. Toyota please put your money and technology into the engine, drivetrains and transmissions new tech to keep your reliability but embarrass the other domestic truck manufacturers. I really want a Tundra but I won't buy one that gets that crappy of fuel mileage. I will keep my old truck because it's not broken and what would I be gaining. The new one is well just newer with new warranty. I want capability and fuel mileage again in 2019 that is not to much to ask for. • Toyota if your listening... get your fuel mileage to 27 to 33 mpg and then you will have my attention. I will order a new one then. Just my 2 cents.

Great coverage of the Tundra Pro. There are definite trade offs between the PRO and my 2019 Limited. All those blanks are fill with switches, the heat/air is automatic, etc. But at the time I bought mine, they were not available. I would love to get the shock package, but the standard shocks on the Limited are not that bad, just a bit harsh on sharper bumps. The 38 Gallon tank is really nice, and I am averaging around 16+MPG . Interior on the PRO is much like the standard SR, but with the extra money spend on suspension and wheels/tires.

I'm struggling to understand why Toyota would market this as their top feuxoff-roader but not even offer a locking rear differential. I believe that option is available on everything the competition makes, often including even base models.

S_J_P that’s what it’s for, driving the hell out of it. When you are dirty af from the job site and you get in your truck there are two things you need, one is that your truck starts right up and second that you aren’t worried about ruining the soft leather or Alcántara interior. It’s a working man’s truck.

Please Toyota put back those driver side grab handles back in. Some with bad knees need it. Not a fan of grabbing the steering wheel. Otherwise not a bad truck. All Toyota vehicles I've owned started everyday on the first try until I sold it usually past 300k miles point. No transmission or engine issues. Nada, zilch and zero. A boring, no drama reliable truck. On their new model for 2021 I hope they throw down the gauntlet and just incorporate some form of it's Lexus hybrid system where it'll travel around town for 25 miles then increase fuel mpg to 25 at least. If any company has the ability to bring all the technological know-how together into vehicle it's Toyota. Great review.

As a very tall man, 6’6” I can tell you that the Tundra is not as comfortable with front leg room as the F150. This truck would easily outpace the F150 if they moved the front seats back another 3 inches. There’s too much space in the backseat.

Very good review. I recently watched another review from someone who clearly didn't understand the truck, didn't even know how to properly engage the 4WD in hi mode, and bashed it at times over the silliest of reasons. When I questioned his techniques I was basically blown off as though I didn't know the truck, AND I'M A TUNDRA OWNER MYSELF. The Tundra does have quirks and shortcomings but all vehicles do. However, it is probably one of the most bullet proof trucks on the market still.

Great job to Toyota for what they have done with this truck. Ur missing the point this truck is meant to compete against the over priced and over hyped Ford Raptor Off Road. I almost bought a 19 trd pro but after driving it I realized that a lot of the extras on my 18 trd offroad limited I would lose on the pro. The adjusting headlights was standard on my offroad. The only thing I would gain would be the hood scoop, the grille, the fox shocks, the dual exhaust and the moon roof. I would rather have the heated seats, the parking sensors, the blind spot monitoring, among others.

@@stangodard1 reliability is important, but this truck offers nothing compared to the other trucks in the class, at 35-40 for other trucks you get way more. They are simply keeping in step with the over priced truck market. Agree though ... they are over priced for what you get. Toyota doesn't invest much in Tundra development. Refresh for 2021 is expected but they are behind in a big way. This truck hasn't changed much in 10+ years.
