They had this as one of the etudes when I was in HS, I was Horrible at it, I tried so hard, even with having lessons, the only reason I didn’t get last place was because someone just left and quit band altogether so they were technically last but yeah… I was Almost gonna quit band altogether but the director was like “Hey Brad, you should switch to a different instrument like Tuba you’d be good at it, the Trombone section is too stacked and you’ll NEVER move up otherwise” I was hesitant at first but I switched and they moved me up to the top ensemble the next semester after less than a month of playing the new instrument, I barely didn’t make region the next year and I did somehow make it when I was a Senior. Sometimes I think I should’ve just quit and done sports, I might be close to being in the NFL right now if I actually tried to put in effort back then lol, but I was too lazy back then to know what I know now and I got to deal with my inaction. Besides that I think music is a super important thing that everyone should do, put in the Effort, don’t be like I was. I’m glad this reminded me of how different I was back then, I’m the best I’ve ever been now and I’m only on the up and up from here!

Saurav Bastola It’s not the wrong scale though It barely sounds funky and wouldn’t be the wrong scale at all
@albrechtwerner97464 жыл бұрын
@@aayushdhurka2425 Thanks for the input, guys. I rewatched it on 0.25x speed. My impression is that his slide moved between the last two Fs so that he hits a lower note. The following G is also way too flat. After that, he seems to be more or less on track again. So my inital assumption that he plays a totaly wrong scale was not correct.
@SashaRomeroMusic4 жыл бұрын
If you play it at 2x speed, everything is the right scale.
@SashaRomeroMusic4 жыл бұрын
But yeah, I must've moved slightly early on the F. To me, that's much less important than making sure the phrasing is clear. A couple imperfect notes here and there are no big deal compared to playing completely boring
