One of the reasons why I love this car is the interior. It would be one of the biggest selling points for me and one of the reasons why I would go to the trouble to import it to Europe. Mercedes, Audi and even BMW to some extent have gone crazy these days and are putting screens on every inch of the dashboard. I have to say that the analogue gauges in this bring me a sense of comfort and look very attractive.

Totally with you on 'all functions on touchscreen' craze so many manufacturers are going with these days. What happens with the screen(s) fail? How are you going to operate the car then? Buttons, knobs, switches and controllers are tactile, easier and safer to operate. So at least for those often used functions, a few short-cut buttons are definitely welcome as far as I'm concerned. Oh and, the CT5 looks like a hell of a car. Shame we don't get it in Europe!

GM management needs to recognize that beautiful, high quality interiors sell cars, especially in the luxury segment. Too often the bean counters at GM get in the way. The instrument panel in this Cadillac looks too much like that of a Chevrolet. Cadillac badly needs its own high quality switches, not shared with any other GM product.

Every car has elements that are purely put on for styling. Just think of it that way. It's all arbitrary anyway, real or fake is not relevant in the end, as every element of the design is some decision to appear a certain way. If we lambast every nonfunctional vent and crease that isn't for aero, etc., then we miss the forest for the trees. I find I grow accustomed to most cars' quirks over time and end up enjoying them.

The last gen’s base CTS Luxury gauges were very different from this design and should’ve never made it inside the interior of a modern day Cadillac. These gauges are a tremendous upgrade over them and you’d know that if you were familiar with the car. Not to mention analog gauges are found in the competition from Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and Audi at the price range. Let’s be more realistic here, in starting to think people are holding Cadillac to a higher standard than the Germans.

I agree, making it into a sportback would have allowed the cargo capacity to be more competitive in its market. Also if I remember correctly the CT5 has around 2 more inches or rear legroom than the BMW 3 series. If they would have reduced that by around 2 inches and increased the cargo capacity it would have been welcoming as well. Hell do both and it could probably be class leading in terms of cargo capacity if not matching the stinger.

He is right about not being able to push these on public roads.I have a 2020 AWD Stinger GT 3.3TT--and you better be on a HWY or long clear str8 to even push the pedal down past 50%.The HWY near me--I leave it in comfort mode and can be at triple digits with no sweat 2/3 the way down the ramp. The acceleration on these cars is close to what super cars were doing 10 to 15 years ago. The supercharged V8s are excellent but overkill.None of the hellcats or ZL1 in the street tire division were able to put the power down at the drag.I have vids of my stinger and I was able to beat 500 plus HP american cars. This car is just a hair slower then my Stinger--plus with AWD the power can be put down in almost every condition.I do agree with others they should have used the bigger v6 and this should have low to mid 400 HP--that way it can at least do sub 13 sec quarter miles which has become the standard in the class. The new AWD systems are fantastic and after owning my first modern one in my stinger--i will always spring for AWD--it makes the car much much better.

Great video as usual; loved the last portion most of all, but in the final bit of that portion, lies the reasons why I DON'T like this car! Like a lot of car companies, Cadillac lost its way. It stopped being "Cadillac" for me after the turn of the millennium, and particularly in those cars made during the Johann De Nysschen administration at Cadillac. The front end of this CT5 is almost spot-on Cadillac; it just needs the wreaths that make a person know it's a Cadillac from a block away instead of that plain shield, that from far away looks like a Chevrolet emblem. But that C-pillar which screams "2012 Chevy Cruze on Crack," the dog leg taillights and all that creasing out on the butt, to the budget-minded rear seat area with it's 2+2 interior, an overnight bag-sized trunk, whose spare tire is extinct and in a car almost the size of the 5-Series BMWs is just plain silly. I want a soup ladle or two, filled with some old-fashioned, "We're American and proud" Cadillac ideas and values added back to these modern things they call "luxury performance vehicles"; not overstyled great pretenders of what German Luxury cars are like. Carlisle, take me away! 🍷! 🐰
