You are being a good pack leader! Showing him what kind of behaviors you want from him....And showing him where his land is , what the boundaries are, so he knows what he’s supposed to protect. ......When he barks it’s like he’s answering your command of “ Watch” with, “ yes! I see”.....He wants to please you, to understand what you want of him and it’s up to the dog owner to find a way for the dog to understand , to translate your language into something the dog understands. You are doing a great job teaching him! I love seeing him raise his head to sniff the air when the weeds or bushes are too high for him to see over them. I love watching how different people approach training..... It’s very helpful for me .

So when we have visitors over the first thing he does is go right to them and gets a good sniff and walks away trying to avoid getting pet. After that he will do his own thing or watch from a distance.

@@JelloVibez Hi, I don't have a Corso, but I'm in the process of researching breeds to be a good guard dog and affectionate companion. Got my shortlist down to 3 breeds, Cane Corso, Giant Schnauzer and Presa Canario. I'm favouring the Cane Corso, he seems to have everything I'm looking for in a dog. I've joined several groups to learn more from owners. Yours is a lovely well rounded dog. I'm in England, all CC dogs have loose ears here unless they are imported. I would not only train my dog, i would have to train my kids and my dog at the same time right? Lol sounds silly but i figure both will have to learn to keep their hands and paws off each-other lol. You mentioned something about looking out for coyotes. In the event one was on your land does the breed have what it takes to fend one off?
@JelloVibez4 жыл бұрын
Can't say if Uso would Larry. He has never been confronted by a coyote. Just the other day a coyote tried to lure him into an ambush. Uso jolted in the direction of a yapping coyote around 1am at night. Luckily he has a strong recall and I was able to get him back to me before he could have possibly been jumped. Does the breed have what it takes to fend one off? Absolutely, they have the size, power, and DRIVE. It just depends on how they are raised.

What's up brotha! This is amazing content. I enjoy watching Uso at work. If I can ask....when you first began training Uso or at any point since you got him did you use an E-collar? I'm amazed at the level of obedience he has! I see so many trainers use the e-collar, I'm just curious to know that this high level of obedience can be achieved without the use of an e-collar.
@JelloVibez4 жыл бұрын
Yo! Everything he knows is all without an e collar. BUT. I just purchased a 250$ e collar because now we are working on distance. Only way to achieve that is with e collar. So I actually just started the conditioning phase. I will be doing that for at least a month before I do any corrections with the e collar

Nice work. What you really need is a second guy to creep up on that fence and rattle it right after you say "watch" then when he barks that guy should run away scared. That will get across to him what you are wanting. I'd help you if you were near Houston, but maybe you can buy somebody a case of beer for helping with that..

My man! Thank you for the kind words. Some advice would be to treat your dog like a homie. My Corso is always pleasing me, always happy, always forgiving. So I make sure to give back the best way possible.
