5 years back I got a used 1098 streetfighter with little miles on it but with Michelin tires instead of Pirellis. I had a lot of difficulty understanding the riding characteristics of the bike coming from a heavy Yamaha MT-01. Changed the tires to Pirellis and it worked so much better. Later I changed to clip ons instead of the higher handlebar. This worked even better. I turned back to high bars but didn't like it and got the clip ons back on. Now I own something completely different, a Harley 2019 Fat Boy.

120 MPH in second gear at the red line with this new Streefighter ... You can only short shift with this bike on the open road 👎 (otherwise it will be jail or life wheelchair hell). It is the most beautiful naked bike but if I am forced to short shift gears, then where is the fun for me ? Yesterday I saw the new 2020 KTM 1290 Superduke on the street and I was amazed how stunning it looks in the flesh compared to youtube videos !! 😍 The black one with the orange fluo frame, it has an incredibly cool style, very modern and sleek and a big charisma ! The KTM has got shorter gear ratios than the Duc' and a very strong torque from the lowest RPM's. With the 1290 you get more smiles on your face than with the Streetfighter. The choice is pretty tough. I think the KTM is the best buy of the two 👍

Very interesting review.... However the question remains: Has the fueling been sorted for slower traffic riding? My previous XDiavel S (2016) was poor in this regard. It was snatchy (more on/off) in traffic. I sold it because of this. How then is the V4S in slower riding situations? I now ride a new SuperDuke R and it has super smooth throttle response. The XDiavel S also switched off the rear cylinder below 3000 rpm while gearing down which eliminated blipping per se. I hope this is not the case with the V4?? Would like your response on this... @@tuyenhoang5546 it's actually not that uncomfortable at all. I was worried about that as well but the electronics on this thing feel even better than my 2018 Panigale V4S that I traded in for it. It's got a great feeling of "it's there if I want it" as far as power goes, but it's not overbearing (until you want it to be, but the electronics do an excellent job of keeping the front wheel on the ground and the back from stepping out when they're set up that way). Working on it. Which bikes should we include?
@lensoprezole53224 жыл бұрын
@@TroySiahaan You should include the 2020 Superduke and 2020 Tuono V4 factory. Really no need to include a japanese bike to this comparison review in my opinion. What would be nice is to show us the speed at redline of the first 3 gears to compare each bike at full throttle to see "which one is the more usable on the road". Because I am not a fan of short shifting and in my opinion the shorter the gears are, the better, because I can use more the gearbox, it is more fun, I can hear the beautiful sound of the engine completely. I know the Duc' SFV4 goes to 120 MPH in second gear and that is pretty unusable on the road. The 2020 KTM SDR has got shorter gearing and I think it is more fun to ride due to the big torque from the lower rpm's. Tell me what you think of that ? And also make a comparison of the "upper body riding position", to see on which we are more upright and on which we are more leaned forward. Very nice you came talk with us in the comment section. Have a nice day. (sorry for my english, I am french).

@@TroySiahaan The 2020 Super Duke and the 2020 Tuono V4 Factory. And quite honestly, Aprilia is such a niche brand in the US that the only thing which really matters is the KTM Super Duke vs. Ducati Streetfighter V4. While I'm at it, let me make a few additional points. With respect, this is a street review of a STREETfighter. With that in mind, what's critical here is how this bike makes power compared to the competition. From your comments as well as what other reviewers have said, it seems the SF is very calm and quiet (I think you used the word "docile" in your review) up to about 8k rpm, then it starts to come alive, and really gets going about 10k. A lot of potential buyers are going to want a detailed comparison of how that contrasts with the new Super Duke, which produces WAY more torque at far more street-friendly rpms. Early dyno runs are showing the Duke producing significantly more torque as well as hp up until 10k or so when the SF really gets going. But as you yourself admitted in your review, is that top end hp even relevant on a naked streetfighter? Another point you didn't mention is that Ducati has publicly stated the 208 hp is only available under specific conditions; it's sharply torque limited in gears 1-4. But in those same gears and at much lower rpms the KTM is a beast. So is it fair to say the SF may be better suited to the track while the SD better suited to the street? This is the kind of no BS information readers want. Also, since this is a street review of a street bike, I find it curious that you didn't mention all of the tech which is conspicuously absent from the Streetfighter. No keyless ignition, no cruise control, no fuel gauge. No fuel gauge on a $24,000.00 dollar street bike and that didn't even merit a mention in your review? Seriously? Please ensure that if you do a shootout between the KTM and the Ducati, you also bring up overall value as a criteria. There is a very significant price difference between these bikes, and I think a lot of potential buyers would like to know your opinion on whether it's worth the premium Ducati is asking for it compared to the competition. Let's have an honest, no holds barred shootout.

Those bouncing rear turn signals are so bad looking. I guess most people would get rid of them. Other than that I love it. Great roads and review

I think it's a US thing. In the EU it comes with smaller LED indicators. It's the same on a lot of other bikes. LED in the EU, incandecent in the US.

Now if only they would make a Streetfighter V2 little brother like they did with the panigale

It needs a flash to wheelie. No joke.
@DarwinAllen4 жыл бұрын
Where'd you hear that? I've been wheelying the shit out of mine and I'm not even through the break-in miles. You turn wheelie control off and twist the throttle - I've had the front come up in 4th with no clutch involved. Maybe they have some weird restriction on it where you live?

really, those wings look cheap and plastic, on that price bike they should be carbon fiber or something nice looking?

Hemmo They should automatically retract when not needed.

@Hemmo : the best thing to do is to unscrew them until you go to the race track.

My that is a big radiator you have! The better to cool those 208 horses, my dear! Seat height 33.3 inches. Maybe a motorcross bike also.
