paused the video at about 12:25 and realized as the camera is panned, just how incredibly clever Ducati hid normally unappealing things like the horn into this bike to just bring the fit and finish of an already amazing motorcycle to an otherworldly level of premium

5 years back I got a used 1098 streetfighter with little miles on it but with Michelin tires instead of Pirellis. I had a lot of difficulty understanding the riding characteristics of the bike coming from a heavy Yamaha MT-01. Changed the tires to Pirellis and it worked so much better. Later I changed to clip ons instead of the higher handlebar. This worked even better. I turned back to high bars but didn't like it and got the clip ons back on. Now I own something completely different, a Harley 2019 Fat Boy.

No way u would ever use all of that power. Id rather buy a bike for £10k and squeeze everything out of it and not b scared to slide it, crash it or whatever than a bike for £20k, i would cry like a baby if i would crash it. And riding a bike for £20 u would never go 100% cos on the back of yer head there will b always that ammount of cash this bike costs. But hey, thats just me. Stay safe everyone 👍

If Duc had any sense they'd put that engineering into a 5 or 600cc V4 that puts out around 100bhp as that would suite most riders better

Not a financially viable. Production and equipment costs are the same for either a 500 or 1100 V4 with the same gizmos and doodas. Better to build an 1100 V4 motorcycle when you can charge more for it.

Jason Manning Street fighter V4 is definitely going to be a successful product for Ducati and the monster series hasn’t been able compete with the middleweight naked street fighters, so hopefully Ducati banks on this success and make a street fighter V2 based on the Panigale V2 to take on Triumph street triple RS, KTM duke 890 R and Yamaha MT-09

120 MPH in second gear at the red line with this new Streefighter ... You can only short shift with this bike on the open road 👎 (otherwise it will be jail or life wheelchair hell). It is the most beautiful naked bike but if I am forced to short shift gears, then where is the fun for me ? Yesterday I saw the new 2020 KTM 1290 Superduke on the street and I was amazed how stunning it looks in the flesh compared to youtube videos !! 😍 The black one with the orange fluo frame, it has an incredibly cool style, very modern and sleek and a big charisma ! The KTM has got shorter gear ratios than the Duc' and a very strong torque from the lowest RPM's. With the 1290 you get more smiles on your face than with the Streetfighter. The choice is pretty tough. I think the KTM is the best buy of the two 👍

And the price for the Ducati is insanity... It's no joke 8k more than the KTM 1290 out the door. That's just ridiculous. Not to mention the KTM has cruise control, which is just nice to have on the street.

Very interesting review.... However the question remains: Has the fueling been sorted for slower traffic riding? My previous XDiavel S (2016) was poor in this regard. It was snatchy (more on/off) in traffic. I sold it because of this. How then is the V4S in slower riding situations? I now ride a new SuperDuke R and it has super smooth throttle response. The XDiavel S also switched off the rear cylinder below 3000 rpm while gearing down which eliminated blipping per se. I hope this is not the case with the V4?? Would like your response on this... Regards!

@DarwinAllen

@@tuyenhoang5546 it's actually not that uncomfortable at all. I was worried about that as well but the electronics on this thing feel even better than my 2018 Panigale V4S that I traded in for it. It's got a great feeling of "it's there if I want it" as far as power goes, but it's not overbearing (until you want it to be, but the electronics do an excellent job of keeping the front wheel on the ground and the back from stepping out when they're set up that way). It's nuts, but it's also pretty confidence-inspiring, which I'm still quite surprised about.

This exhibits the genius of Aprilia. The Tuono Factory has adaptive Ohlins, all the other electronics, fire breathing V4 and MSRP's at $18,999. I think the re-birth of the Ducati Streetfighter was a brilliant idea, albeit a few years too late, and I think they're overselling this. That's not a $26,000 motorcycle. The build quality and responsiveness of this bike is much nicer than the Tuono and the MT10 isn't even in the same league. All awesome bikes, though! The MT10 seems like a wicked deal for the price. I'd give second place to the SDR since it definitely gets the hilarious fun factor award. Have you considered the KTM?

I have a 2019 Aprilia Tuono Factory and was thinking maybe I could switch to this but it doesn't inspire me, don't know why. Worse still, a new Tuono is on the way, and I bet it will beat the Streetfighter.

@lemonjellies : the all new RSV4 isn't out yet so you will have to wait few years for an all new Tuono V4 to come out. What doen't inspire me in the new streetfighter V4 is the very long gear ratios.

This bike is twice as expensive as basic mt10 but is it twice the bike . 200 hp naked bike is pointless, I can barely hold on to my mt10 with 160 hp . What I know is my mt10 is trouble free bike can you say the same with Ducati or KTM

Nice review thanks, but whoever edited the video needs a bit of a talking to. The Spartacus style music at the start is unnecessary and laughable and the colour grading is again, unnecessary and distracting.

I have ridden the Panigale V4S and if this bike is essentially the same bike without a fairing and low clip ons then I don't understand how this doesn't end up roasting your legs, except when you are on the highway may be.

@@thespectator5259 makes no sense why you'd own a 20k+ bike and not store it in a garage, if you're well off enough to own a bike like this renting a garage monthly even if your place doesn't have one is definitely not that hard, or just bring it inside your garden... No way anyone would keep a bike like this out front or on the street.

@@ur2slob724 Every bike you put a part on, even to something like a sprint air filter should have some sort of tune to accommodate that change and actually improve performance. Are Ducati parts expensive? Yea they sure are, having owned the whole line of panigale's I can tell you simple things like a shift linkage is expensive! My Ducati after the full akra came with the upmap, as did my Aprilia. So that mapping (when it's from the manufacturer) is included in the price of the exhaust.

Great bike but it has a few flaws biggest one is no fuel guage... Come on Duk its 2020 this is unexceptable. Those "wings" look ridiculous and serve no purpose on a naked bike, that dash looks like an after thought just plonked onto the headlight.

@lensoprezole5322
@lensoprezole5322 4 жыл бұрын
@@TroySiahaan You should include the 2020 Superduke and 2020 Tuono V4 factory. Really no need to include a japanese bike to this comparison review in my opinion. What would be nice is to show us the speed at redline of the first 3 gears to compare each bike at full throttle to see "which one is the more usable on the road". Because I am not a fan of short shifting and in my opinion the shorter the gears are, the better, because I can use more the gearbox, it is more fun, I can hear the beautiful sound of the engine completely. I know the Duc' SFV4 goes to 120 MPH in second gear and that is pretty unusable on the road. The 2020 KTM SDR has got shorter gearing and I think it is more fun to ride due to the big torque from the lower rpm's. Tell me what you think of that ? And also make a comparison of the "upper body riding position", to see on which we are more upright and on which we are more leaned forward. Very nice you came talk with us in the comment section. Have a nice day. (sorry for my english, I am french).

@@TroySiahaan The 2020 Super Duke and the 2020 Tuono V4 Factory. And quite honestly, Aprilia is such a niche brand in the US that the only thing which really matters is the KTM Super Duke vs. Ducati Streetfighter V4. While I'm at it, let me make a few additional points. With respect, this is a street review of a STREETfighter. With that in mind, what's critical here is how this bike makes power compared to the competition. From your comments as well as what other reviewers have said, it seems the SF is very calm and quiet (I think you used the word "docile" in your review) up to about 8k rpm, then it starts to come alive, and really gets going about 10k. A lot of potential buyers are going to want a detailed comparison of how that contrasts with the new Super Duke, which produces WAY more torque at far more street-friendly rpms. Early dyno runs are showing the Duke producing significantly more torque as well as hp up until 10k or so when the SF really gets going. But as you yourself admitted in your review, is that top end hp even relevant on a naked streetfighter? Another point you didn't mention is that Ducati has publicly stated the 208 hp is only available under specific conditions; it's sharply torque limited in gears 1-4. But in those same gears and at much lower rpms the KTM is a beast. So is it fair to say the SF may be better suited to the track while the SD better suited to the street? This is the kind of no BS information readers want. Also, since this is a street review of a street bike, I find it curious that you didn't mention all of the tech which is conspicuously absent from the Streetfighter. No keyless ignition, no cruise control, no fuel gauge. No fuel gauge on a $24,000.00 dollar street bike and that didn't even merit a mention in your review? Seriously? Please ensure that if you do a shootout between the KTM and the Ducati, you also bring up overall value as a criteria. There is a very significant price difference between these bikes, and I think a lot of potential buyers would like to know your opinion on whether it's worth the premium Ducati is asking for it compared to the competition. Let's have an honest, no holds barred shootout.
