I picked up my new Vignale Focus yesterday - loving it. I like how the dashboard is much flatter than the previous model Focus's - gives you a much better and wider view of the car's front and the immediate road space around the car.

Hello, can someone tell me why there are no suspensions to lower the car? There are ones for the normal 1.0 ecoboost but not fo the MheV versions. Is there a big difference in the suspensions from normal and MheV?

You don't have to press the gas. Just the clutch and fire the START button!

Eu tenho o Focus 125cv Ecoboost de 2016 e adoro o carro. Acredito que o bloco de 155cv seja brutal, mas esperava ouvir a tua apresentação e fiquei sem perceber consumos, recuperações, comportamento, equipamento, etc. Não compreendo o racional deste tipo de ensaio. mas vai continuando.

O ST Line X traz mais equipamento de série! O ST Line é menos vestido 😅. No fundo são essas as diferenças. Acredito ainda que há coisas que só pode ser colocado em ST-Line X mas não em ST-Line.

At the Front Suspension you get Independent McPherson Coil Springs & Anti-roll bar. At the rear, you have Multilink, Coil Springs & Anti-roll bar!

@@UnlimitedAuto there is no multi-link suspension at the rear, there not enough available space for that and Multi-link is too expensive to produce for a Fiesta. All Fiesta's have trailing arm's linked by a "Twist Beam" torsion bar. The coil springs and dampers are separate from each other, again, insufficient space for co-axial "Coil-over's". It's a simple rear system but Ford makes it work quite well.

If you get one of these brand new in 2020/2021 you get that Dashboard. It got “updated” and it’s the same as Ford Puma! Maybe we can call it a little “facelift” 😅

This month i make 2 years with my focus active 155mhev 6 speed manual. The car is just amazing. In comparison to the stline it feels more comfortable over bumpy roads but less likely for rapid changes in directions. As far for the engine it has been a blast. It really pulls when you go over 5000 rpm. Mid range is perfect for the engine (2500-4500 rpm). The electric motor does help in the accelerations but only until 5000 rpm then it is disconnected. 80-120 in 25.000km is still around 6 seconds in 3rd. sometimes faster other times a little slower. 80-120 on 4th takes 7.2 seconds but these depend a lot on the battery level. If there is no battery the car could take up to 8 seconds in 4th gear compared to the 7.2. Consumptions has been great. For urban driving moving around 6.5 in winter and 6.8 in summer it's amazing (no start stop + air conditioning always running). Yep, great car recommended by far as a reliable car. I've had other fiesta 1.0 ecoboost and the 2021 mhev version is more refined. The engine has almost to non vibrations. In comparison to previous models the change is HUGE! Comparing PUMA and Focus i'd go for the focus. there is a lo more horizon space and longitudinal between the 1st and second row. You get a better car for the same money. The other focus ecoboost i know is the one that is still running and has more than 140.000 km with zero problems. that model was from 2012 with the old engines with the wet belt. Those are the ones that should be avoided in theory. The new gen has a timing chain + wet belt for auxiliary stuff. Must have equipment: 1. ADAPTIVE LED > LED > halogen. Get the adaptive led they are so worth it. it feels like driving during the day and also they turn mid corner in comparison to the "normal" led lights. 2. Winter pack with heated windshield. once you try it there is no going back 3. Bang And Olufsen speakers. The basic ones are good but for 300€ difference the bang and olufsen sound great. Literally like day and night difference.

Hello Anthony, The difference is that the engine doesn’t turn off while driving. Sure, you feel that you have less power than the 155HP version (but only when you drive aggressively). While daily driving it’s not that big of a difference! If you want a Focus for the rest of your life, this is the right decision. If you want to change it in a few years, go for the 125HP version! 😄

I have tried both on the same day. The 155 gets more torque which you can easily feel. The difference is even more noticeable because as well you have more power the gears are shorter. This means that the car gets a really punchy acceleration compared to the 125hp 170nm. The mild hybrid only helps on low rpm and for the top end hard acceleration it barely even functions. If i had to chose which engine goes in my car i'd take the 155 over the 125 because you'll be more secure when overtaking cars or trucks. The punchy acceleration combined with the shorter gears shaves off like 3 seconds from 80-120 from the base model.

@@e7234 thanks - ah man - I got mine before the mild hybrids were announced / launched. I definitely feel the lack of power on highway slip roads / overtaking (unless I keep it above 3,000rpm in 3rd gear to overtake). You have to really have it in the high-end revs. How about 155 over the petrol ST? I know on paper the ST is double power but in real life day to day ?

I'd love to buy it but I wonder If the 3 cylinder engine 1.0 is enough. I never had experience with these kind of engines, I wouldn't feel the lack of power on slops etc., you know that feeling, with your car struggling while driving... Isn't this engine too little? Unfortunately I have no opportunities to try it...

Hello Domenico! It’s normal to think that way. We still can’t believe how good it actually is! It always “beg for more”, and when you look at your speed, you are waaaay above the limit 😅. Is doesn’t feel like you have a 1.0 engine. It feels like a 1.5 at least! Hope I could help you, this was the most honest answer 😄.

There is a reason for that 😅. It may sound strange and odd, but we try to show everything we can in our POV videos. Even if sometimes people say “you drive bad” or “not driving well” that’s because we want to show you what happens when you do that...or this. Hope you understand what i mean 😄

Would you know how much the car consumes on the highway? 120-130kph? I think the 6th gear is too short. Don't you think so? I appreciate your answer.

You can do around 5.5L - 6.0L. Yes it’s a bit short but petrol engines tend to have high revs at “low” speed. Diesel engines have longer gears. However, it’s pretty good!

Olá Miguel! Vou assumir através do teu nome, que posso responder em Português 😅. Felizmente já conseguimos testar os dois, e são comportamentos um pouco semelhantes mas também diferentes. Isto é, quando conduzimos devagar e sem grandes acelerações, parecem o mesmo motor. A grande diferença é principalmente na aceleração/desportividade que conseguimos extrair deste motor. É muito mais disponível, mais alma em subir as rotações e conseguimos sentir que é mais potente. Sentimos que acrescenta a última peça de puzzle que faltava ao de 125CV! A nível de consumos rondam praticamente o mesmo (este consome ligeiramente mais). Se vale a pena a diferença dos 30 cavalos? : - Sim, se nunca quiseres que te falte alguma coisa do motor. - Não, se tiveres uma rotina maioritariamente dentro da cidade e não queres saber para nada das acelerações e bater recordes dos 0-100km/h. Como reparei que o canal tem público a comentar em inglês, não quis criar uma barreira linguística de forma a manter uma interação fluída nos comentários. Eu comprei o meu Focus MK4 em dezembro de 2019. Era modelo de showroom, construído em setembro de 2019 e, infelizmente, ainda não estavam disponíveis as novas motorizações MHEV na altura. Confesso que apesar de achar o 1.0 EcoBoost 125 um motor muito competente, o meu lado petrolhead pede sempre mais. Quando saiu esta nova motorização, que utiliza o 1.0 EcoBoost 140 - o turbo é ligeiramente maior e é daí que vêm as maiores diferenças - combinado com o sistema de 48 volts, fiquei um pouco desiludido com o meu timing na compra do carro porque foi uma fase em que a Ford decidiu fazer uma espécie de mid-cycle refresh ao Focus MK4. Como mencionaste, acredito que o MHEV de 155 cv seja a cereja no topo do bolo para esta motorização. Com isto dito, a essência do Focus está toda lá - um carro dinâmico e muito divertido de conduzir, com uma boa lista de equipamento e uma excelente relação preço-qualidade. Após ter-mos conduzido bastantes modelos da Ford, nunca nos queixámos relativamente ao ruído de parasitas. A nosso ver a nível de construção está impecável. Nada a ver com os modelos antigos!

@@UnlimitedAuto Fui experimentar um destes com 1 ano e 16 mil km. Em ruas de paralelos e piso degradado é muito pouco refinado, a suspensão é muito "àspera" e "seca" e já tinha uns ruídos parasitas na zona do pilar A. Olhando ao pormenor damos conta que a construção é mais barata do que se está à espera. Neste momento a PSA consegue superar em termos de refinamento e qualidade.

Vaya porquería de vídeo. Te quedas clavado en la salida, cambias de marcha como una abuela y estás más pendiente de los botones que del coche campeón. Si muestras el rendimiento en marcha aprende a conducir primero y los botones y sus funciones en parado. Seguridad ante todo, más aún si no eres muy avispado al volante. 😂👍

Can’t really explain, because the EcoBoost is the name of the engine, while the Diesel ones are called EcoBlue 🤔

Hmmm, I wonder if I will still choose Focus today in detriment of competition.. Back in 2019 there was the 1.5 petrol with 182hp and that extra power plus the way it drives was one of the reasons to choose Focus and not BMW 118i or Audi A3 1.5 TFSI. Not convinced this engine has enough power and especially torque to get the most out of the chassis. There is too much gap now between this 155hp and the ST, at least to me. Seems like everything is good Ford needs to dismiss

All you car reviewers are annoyingly skinny and narrow-shouldered :) It always looks like you could do the Cancan in there, yet when I do a test drive, my fat left leg is pinched against the left rail, and my northern-european viking shoulders rub against the left side. Please pay some more attention to shoulder room for us poor big guys?! :)

Ahahah very funny comment! However, you are right, some cars are quite uncomfortable at the legs and shoulders. I guess they can’t think on everything 😅

Have to admit that I am in love with the Focus. Specially this one, don’t even need the ST. It’s one of the cases to just go out and buy it right now!

Looking for a new company lease car around this budget, need to drive lots in it, in doubt between this car and more crossover-type cars like the XC-30 (which I drove today, and loved, but fear I will feel locked in).
