I have a 2019 XLT FX4 SuperCrew. I’ve had quite a few vehicles in my lifetime and it’s my favorite. I had an F150 before, but for how I use a truck I like the trim Ranger a lot more. Easier to park and quicker getting through traffic. It is great in snow and better off road then my F150 was.

Throw a 60hp tune on it from a $400 SCT tuner and it'll put a big ass smile on your face every time you get into the throttle. These trucks can easily put well over 300hp to the wheels and run mid 13's. The ride sucks but I enjoyed everything else over the past year of trouble free ownership. The tow rating is 7500lbs for every version of the Ranger. My XLT 2wd has 1788lbs of payload. They're beasts.

As a farmer (Not a hobby farmer but a true blue self employed farmer) I can’t see why anyone would buy this. We have an old ranger but it’s different, it’s small nimble and fuel efficient and cheap as dirt to buy. This truck doesn’t service my needs since it’s big and cumbersome while being light duty and expensive. I would much rather buy a 150 or a used 250/350.

“What happens when you get a big trailer on behind?” Welp, it’s a ranger. You don’t. 3500lbs is like 2 motorcycles and some tools in a small (8ft by 5ft) enclosed trailer. Serious upgrade over the previous ranger though, last one was disposable like a 3” long pencil, like it works (but not well) right now but how many more times do you really think you can sharpen that thing? That lead snaps off your into a new pencil, and chances are if your using that short one already you probably don’t have another in your bag.
@Shaket12344 жыл бұрын
Also, the 3500lbs limit is bumper towing. The max rated tow capacity with the tow package and trailer brakes is actually 7500 lbs. I'd be terrified to tow that on my Ranger, but it's apparently doable.
@max_archer2 жыл бұрын
I just bought a used 2020 XLT myself, very similar to this one except it's a 300a and red. One thing the owner here doesn't seem to have noticed (but probably has figured out by now) is that there's a home button on the wheel that at least gets you out of Android Auto and back to the main Ford menu, so you don't have to dig through apps to get back to it if you need to do climate stuff. Still clunkier than I wish it was but it helps and keeps your eyes on the road that much longer.

I have a 2019 Ranger in what I think is the just right spec. It's an XLT 4x2 with no options. And I don't mean no options as in it has running boards, a tow package and tints. I mean it has literally no options on the sticker. I actually like the black Ford running boards over aftermarket ones, so I got a set of those. I got all weather floor mats and a linexed the bed. And let me remind you, without options, this truck still has: front parking sensors, rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, collision warning and automatic braking, lane keep assist, a reverse camera, remote start, vehicle info (oil life, tire pressures, mileage, alarm info, fuel level, location) on an app. It has Bluetooth streaming, hands free calling, it reads texts, understands voice commands, and has steering wheel radio controls. It's got a 150w AC plug, two 12v outlets, and three USB ports, two of which are quick charge. It doesn't have the big screen, but it does have physical AC controls. Even with the small screen it does everything I listed; the big screen is unnecessary. In a base base XLT. Sticker was something like 31k. It was Labor day weekend and the dealership was having a big sale... Except no one was buying shit because hurricane Dorian had just leveled the Bahamas and was headed directly towards us. My buddy who works at the dealer texted me and told me just to move some metal, they were selling for a thousand under invoice plus generous rebates from Ford. I paid something like 24k +++. They were boarding up the windows as I signed the paperwork. I love it. Mr Regular has me figured out. It is a sedan. I have crotch fruit to haul now but I need a truck. My balls shrink when I drive my wife's Honda, and I need something that can haul lumber and burns gas for freedom. Seriously tho, I've hauled a lotta shit in that truck. I don't tow much so I didn't need a tow package. I'm in Florida where there's no snow so 4x2 is fine. During the break in period, I babied the hell out of it and exceeded the EPA rating with room to spare. Now though, I average 19mpg because turbo. It's so damned fun to drive. That sucker will launch if you stand on the brake and spool the turbo. It's not incredibly fast, but definitely surprising. Great truck if you get the right spec. Edit: Oh and the hurricane missed us.
