thanks for demo the headlights at night. No one else does that in any other test. very helpful! esp since GM used to have horrible dim lights. This was a factor on my buying one

Years ago i talked Consumer Reports into doing headlight tests, and they did for years, but they seem to have stopped.

This dude is funny and really knows his stuff. Damnit why did you show my secret stash spot to the world?! 😂 Also, the mpg on the truck is generally less than what it actually says. Even when idling it adds that to the mpg so if you start it in the heat/cold early it makes your mileage look much worse

Excellent review. I've watched this, the Silverado 2500 Custom, and your F-250 reviews several times and it seems like the GM HD's have a better ride with less body squeaks and rattles. I like that Ford 7.3L but I'm coming to the conclusion that the GM 6.6L gas is okay even though it would benefit from the 10-speed. I don't need a diesel but I do need something bigger than the half-tons. It's been quite awhile but do you have any new thoughts on these trucks? Thanks!

There are no bad trucks, just bad option choices for the job at hand. I always liked the Nissan Titan XD myself but its a dog seller at only 26K per year compared to Ford at 800,000......wow.

@@chadhaire1711 It seems like there were problems with the first XD diesel engine and transmission as I recall? That said I haven't researched the latest XD. I really like Nissan Frontiers though and have owned three of them. I'm looking for a HD as a second vehicle. Thanks!

Good video. I am not getting anything more than 15 mpg on mine in FL. My commute is pretty much all highway with maybe 5% city. But I like the truck too. Edit: I will have to add I cruise it around 75 mph on the hwy. That probably does not help the mpg.

1. Press the CONFIG button. 2. Use the MENU/SEL knob to select Radio Settings. 3. Use the MENU/SEL knob to select Auto Volume 4. Use the MENU/SEL knob to select the Auto Volume setting of your choice, INCLUDING OFF.

when I did that it applied to the volume of navigation and other items, NOT the radio

It’s 104 inches from front of the bed to the tail gate stop. 4x8s fit perfectly. Apparently your wrong and didn’t try it. The 1500 have a shorter bed than the 2500 which you are showing here.

I own one and hauled 4x8s in it a few times with the gate stop up to keep them from sliding out. I measured the bed to be sure before I bought it because I always owned eight foot bed trucks before and wanted a new but couldn’t find one in October.

@@Wellsville101 My notes say it was 2 inches too short with my measure tape..they do come in various bed sizes you know....I think this was the shortest. If the truck is still around I will check again.

Have you considered that there are different beds? Maybe he's using a short bed and you have a long bed.

The guy making the video was just reading brochures on trucks and got the 2500 and 1500 mixed up because the 1500 short bed is shorter then the 2500s short bed. So no real on reviews with this guy on this truck away. I was looking for real information on the truck because I was looking to buy one, which I did. His information not accurate, so why bother doing them.

Wouldn't need one as I'd never need to tow 18000 lbs. But people buy them even though they don't tow. Be nice to see an updated Ridgeline review. They made some changes.

Exactly! I stopped at 3:33 because I wanted an objective review, not to hear someone bashing on GM. Diesel engines have been using winter grill covers for years, it’s nothing new. That engine actually has two thermostats. I doubt that you need it there in California.
