Yeah, not a huge fan of the 2-act play to insult the viewer’s intelligence instead of just explaining what they did ahead of time re: providing a different package for the track. Whatcha gonna do...that’s American infotainment for ya. I DO wonder though, as a proud (but not arrogant) American...as a chicken-or-egg question; did this method of idiot pandering generate a country of dumbasses or did the latter necessitate the former?

I was a bit surprised by the change from a 20 to an 18 inch wheel. But the good news is that it did make the Type-R faster around this track. I'll still never forget how fast the old Integra Type-R was. Not in a straight line but around tracks. They were fun to drive but alas we've moved on and cars have gotten better and better over the last couple of decades.

Great driving Randy as always and I always appreciate his casual commentary while driving 100+ miles. You can tell this guy is a pro! I still don't take for granted the fact that Honda has given us a Type R here in the US and this FK8 Type R is phenomenal. It makes some "supercars" nervous at a fraction of the price and with a whole lot more practicality and reliability. I know because I own a 2019 Type R and LOVE it! MotorTrend, if you have not already please post a chart with all the times of these "Hot Laps With Randy Post" so we can get some perspective and if you did, post a link to it in the description. 255/40/r18 A052 has a 9.4in tread width. That tire is severely undersized on a 18x8.5in Wheel. It would be better suited to a 10in wheel width. Probably would’ve saved up to a second+ on time. Not to mention they like camber for best wear characteristics. Though that may just be due to incorrect wheel/tire sizes. You want the tread width to align with the wheel or a little smaller than the wheel width for good sidewall preloading for better traction brake away characteristics and on center feel.

Good Randy and Motor trend team, I am not surprised with dumb KZbin reviewers being critical of Civic Type R turbo, the new NSX, and All Honda products. But I am tired of hearing the same stupid repeating of style which is functional like Porsche 911 GT3 and GT2 but for far less, or not appreciation of advanced engineering to let a powerful front wheel drive car beat others around many race tracks and street. It's like a negative poison that reached even to a veteran like you to say something good, but spit out some of the poison. Facts are Honda products overall have places to improve, but far better overall than competitions.
