My home trail system. Your right, usually by mid July it's very dusty and hot. It's been great this year. looks like you had perfect timing.

Wow, you’re so lucky having these trail systems. Here in Australia the “green” influence is strong and single trail is banned with heavy fines enforced. Our Forestry departments could do well to learn from your departments practices. Meanwhile I’ll ride single illegally but can only dream of riding the sort of stuff you guys have got.

@@Bluebagger61 We have quite a green influence in this province too. We were fortunate that users and government were able to work out an arrangement where we could continue to enjoy the sport. It's not always completely smooth but overall it works. I am thankful for these trails because I know in other areas of the world it's not like this. If I couldn't ride single track I'd drop the sport.

@Justin Hoffarth good question. I previously owned a 200xc-w and never did like the wide ratio transmission. I was always looking for a sweet spot between 2nd and 3rd. The XC transmissions just work better for me.

Yes, I still have stock gearing. The 2020 tpi's have good throttle response, I don't think it's any harder to lift the front wheel vs the my 2017 carbed xc.

I’m torn between the 250 and 300 XC-W Thanks for the input on yours. What is your weight? The 250 seems to lug without using clutch with you in those steep areas. I’m thinking the wide ratio 1st and 2 Nd gear in the XC-W should be able to pull 205lbs any where . Right???? Thanks for your input
@PNWEnduro
@PNWEnduro 4 жыл бұрын
I'm 145 w/o gear. Either xc or xc-w would have no problem pulling 205lbs I would think.

@@SkinnySkinchTwo of my riding buddies purchased 2019 300 xcw's and after four months of ride time one is happy ? and the other is thrilled . After holding his feet to the fire and asking what was the biggest improvement over his last ride (a highly maintained and slightly modded 2006 300 xcw ) was he said the chassis .He also said it would be no challenge to get the same job done on the 06 , just a little more effort . A wise man once said " 80% rider 20% bike".

The TPI system meters the fuel more accurately at lower engine speeds. This really helps finding traction in hard enduro situations. The power delivery is very linear. Some guys miss the “ hit” but that doesn’t help in steep sketchy terrain. The tank is smaller because the bike is more fuel efficient. And the suspension gets better every year. The only time my TPI bike runs less than perfect for changing conditions is when the air filter needs servicing. I have 95 hours- zero problems so far.

What is more fun to ride KTM 250 xcw TPI or Yamaha YZ250x. I want to add another bike because currently I only have a dual sport
@PNWEnduro
@PNWEnduro 4 жыл бұрын
Both would be fun to ride, depends on your needs. For the riding I do electric start and full size gas tank are a must and the YZ250x does not have those.
@geoffboyd
@geoffboyd 4 жыл бұрын
@@PNWEnduro Thanks for the response. I always read on forums and the consensus I have read is that the YZ250x has a better suspension and is lighter weight. 250 xcw TPI has fuel injection, headlight, better power, electric start. Coming from a dual sport I was very attracted to the weight of the YZ but I'm left wondering if the extra weight of the KTM is even detectable. I just care about fun factor primarily.
