( www.TFLcar.com ) The 2020 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring is a plug-in hybrid with nearly 500 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque - nearly as much torque as a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. But what is the most powerful Aviator like on the road?

Same here bro 30's and Lincoln is killing it. I knew they were on the right track from 14 with the MKZ i bought one fully loaded w/ the pano roof/ wheels, it was a LOOKer and i got compliments from all age groups, young guys, guys my age, older dudes, everyone seemed to like it and it wasnt your typical BMW/AUDI/Merc which ive had and loved but wanted something diff. I have to say the dealer and service experience from Lincoln was BY FAR the best of all brands if owned full stop.

There is already a race chip tune for the standered 3.0..i have the mid level one, and it really did add a kick in the pants to that 3.0 (it was already a decent performer) and steeda has springs and a rear sway bar which really balanced the cornering, but kept the rode quality. The drop on the spring was 1.1 inch. The spring worked because mine didn't have the air ride.

I've been binge watching every Aviator review thus far, and the more I see them, the more I want one! Lincoln delivered big time in bringing a genuine, 3-row luxury alternative to the Germans! Cadillac's XT6 is good, but so is every other vehicle in its segment! This Lincoln is one of the few that stand out by what they offer for the money! And the hybrid is spectacular!!!

@mybro727

J Moore the Cadillac XT6 competes in a different market than this. The Cadillac XT6 isn’t to be anything more than a XT5 with a third row competing directly with the Lexus RX-L market. It is not the $93,000 RWD Cadillac flagship SUV/crossover that the Aviator basically is for Lincoln. You would have to compare this to the newly redesigned 2021 Cadillac Escalade for a better comparison.🔥
@MJT-DA
@MJT-DA 4 жыл бұрын
@@mybro727 Escalade is competing with the Navigator. Lol what? Also like alot of people said the aviator already stole 30% of the XT6 sales and it's just increasing. Unless Cadillac makes something that doesn't break down after it leaves the sales floor I don't see them succeeding.
@mybro727
@mybro727 4 жыл бұрын
Taijean Moodie Lol. Hey, it’s the idiot again. Correction: The Cadillac Escalade competes with anything that’s around 200 inches in length, is RWD, offers a third row, is a luxury CUV/SUV, and is priced anywhere around $75,000+. The Navigator and Aviator both fit this description, therefore *either* of them can logically be compared to the Escalade. What you said about the Aviator “stealing” a percentage of XT6’s sales doesn’t even make sense. As far as Cadillac succeeding, they’re already doing that. Lol. Anything else, dumbass?

Agreed.. personally, if I had the money, I'd buy both Aviator and Durango SRT. Aviator seems amazing in pretty much every aspect and makes no compromises unlike the Cadillac XT6. IMO, the Durango is pretty feature packed considering the age of its platform and comfortable enough for a performance crossover (yes, I said crossover) although I have serious doubts about the reliability of an FCA vehicle.

Would like to hear more about the differences vs the ICE version Tommy. Why the downsize to 21" wheels on GT, is it to give more sidewall to help with the stiffer spring rates? Apparently the powertrain has some quirks vs the ICE version, touchy throttle and shift maps. How's the range compare if you lose fuel capacity on the GT? Also would like to see a drag race back in Colorado to see if the extra 800 lbs factors in, and compare them on the highway mileage loop.

I always wondered about the effect of start/stop on high power turbo engines, like say you drive 300 miles with a heavy foot, then suddenly reach to a city and boom it just shuts the engine off. They used to say its the worse thing you can do to a turbo engine you will cook the turbo if you shut it off suddenly after keeping it under high load prolonged Now the other thing they say is always ‘warm up’ the turbo before loading it. Now in this video you were going full EV then slammed on the engine which immediately roared up at around 4k rpm (judging by the sound) without any pre warming. This can fracture the turbo shaft also. What is the opinion of the manufacturers on this? Can you ask an engine engineer about this and make a video on it please? I want to hear the explanation why this is ok to operate em like this and how it doesnt destroy the mechanicals and doesnt shorten the lifetime of the engine and drivetrain dramatically. Thank you
@bryancarrington3518
@bryancarrington3518 4 жыл бұрын
Ford turbos are coolant-cooled and continue cooling after shutdown. That's why EcoBoost powertrains will sometimes restart the cooling fan a minute or so after shut down, after hard driving. As for warmup... it is important the engine oil is fully up to temp before driving hard for many parts of the motor, not just the turbo. Also synthetic flows better cold so its less of an issues. But besides the first trip in the morning, that won't be an issue the rest of the time.

The new Cadillac XT6 can't compare to this stunning looking Lincoln. The Cadillac is sub par in many areas, the Cadillac which is based on the same platform as the Chevy Traverse and the GMC Acadia, looks like those two vehicles. Yet many here and many other reviewers never bring that up in their reviews while the Aviator which doesn't look at all like the Explorer is always compared to its platform mate. Just drop it you Lincoln haters! admit that this Lincoln is a much better vehicle than the XT6. The XT6 is only available with a 3.6L 310-hp engine, against the Lincoln's base engine of 400 hp, the XT6 V-6 only has 271 lbs of torque against the Aviators 415 lbs of torque in the base engine. Lincoln also beats Cadillac in technology even in its base form, the XT6 not even offering Cadillac Super Cruise technology. And where are those same critics that used mock previous Lincoln platforms that were FWD based and now this Aviator is based on a new RWD platform against the Cadillac's XT6 FWD based platform and those same critics are silent .I understand that everyone has their opinions and if those opinions are supported by facts then great. But don't mock a vehicle just because you hate the brand and apply your critics justly and evenly on both cars. I am not saying the Aviator is perfect, but in comparison to the XT6 there is no comparison. The facts speak for themselves, not just my opinion.

I think GM is going all in on the new versions of the great selling Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade redesign. I don’t understand why the market demands so many of those trucks. With an independent rear suspension they may be able to have a bit more interior space and better handling, but I’m not holding my breath. GM needs a shared RWD architecture crossover with more powerful powertrains like the Explorer/Aviator. Anyone who doesn’t tow/offroad/have a giant family (most SUV buyers) don’t need a body on frame mammoth SUV. Most BOF SUV buyers would be happier in a crossover but don’t want one of the ugly, low powered offerings the Americans have given us for the past 10 years, allowing the German sport crossover market to flourish.

$96,985 Canadian for the one as seen in this video. Yikes! I can get a nice F150 AND an Edge Sport! Maybe have enough left for some great accessories for the truck! I respect that it is just not the vehicle for me. The hybrid would be nice, I think that around the city it is definitely beneficial towards being more “green” and I like that. The seats are awesome! Play around for a while, whatever it takes, set it as a favourite and forget it! Maybe being back a Lincoln truck for a select few who really like that? I would buy that, maybe, with the hybrid, high output 3.5 taking it wayyyy up in the power range AND the seats,,,,,,,,,,,, hmmmm look really nice beside a GT500,,,,,,, Thanks Tommy! why doesn't the F-150 Prius have 500 hp and 600lbft+? just … what? … the 150 is 3.5l and the explorer-aviator is 3.0 … c'mon … doesn't this just mean "don't buy the F-150" till Ford offers the same programming and hardware as the body kit Explorer hybrid plug-in?

It is a nice vehicle. But 80k for that is highway robbery. Also you do not get the 600torq instantly because the main power comes from the gas engine and that does not provide instant torque. 0 tob 60 is 5.4 which is very similar to tha Navagator. If it was 600 torq instantly it would be worth it and the 0 to 60 would be in the high 3's

perhaps making the car swerve out of danger or releasing the brakes a bit to help not get as bad whip lash. That would save a lot of people who get rear ended into other cars and semi trucks.
