You really know how to test a guitar. great job ! . This guitar is probably the best i have come across here on youtube- I have been watching reviews of a lot of guitars here on youtube as I am looking to buy a new one. I have narrowed it down to the Gibson J45 Standard, as it is within my budget. j45 price range is my limit, I really can't go beyond that. If I had the money, I would definitely go for the OMJM, it literally is a perfect guitar.

Another great video Jarvis. I have this Martin OMJM guitar. Great sounding guitar that plays well both strumming and fingerpicking. I like this guitar because of its OM size body and does not give me cramps when I play for long durations. The only disadvantage is that the volume cannot be adjusted on the inbuilt pickup.

Mike Goh go get yours setup up rightly with a new custom made bone saddle like this one reviewed and you will be amazed at the tonal improvement it made to your OMJM .. get more tone juice out of your guitar

Christopher Stoddard I think they are both awesome. One difference is the EC has the soft-V neck whereas the OMJM has the “performance neck” which is more “C” shaped and also thinner. The EC had a wider nut width than the OMJM... and the EC is shorter scale. OMJM has Engelmann top... OMJM also comes with an pickup, whereas the EC does not. I like both guitars, and will probably end up with both someday.

I’m between OMJM, 000-28 (not EC because of the neck) or a D-18. Which do you think is best? I tried them out and to my ears the D-18 had amazing even tone, but the OMJM really sang too and was easier to play. The OMJM sounded great, but maybe wouldn’t work as an all-rounder as well?

I think it would be a good all-rounder personally. Remember if you capo it you have a shorter scale so when you have an om you have both ;) you're welcome.

Hi Jarvis, how does the newer model compare to the earlier OMJMs? Any changes you've noticed over the years?

JC Schwartz well the newer ones are all plekked on their fretboard and nut. Also newer truss rod that they are using. The binding uses a new glue so you won’t find it delaminating at the waist curved areas of the martins

Hi javis, compare this to eric clapton edition,which of them u will recommend?

Wood the eric clapton model is Sitka spruce and short scale - so a more punchy tone yet warm with more head room compared to the OMJM. The OMJM is warmth but the Engelman TOP has limited headroom so when you wack or strum the OMJM hard you will find that the tone will distort a little as compared to the Eric Clapton model. Reason being the OMJM is scallop bracing so it’s responsive yet limited headroom

Subielove Gd if you prefer woody organic tone take the om18 .. if you want more bass then the Omjm
