This car is meant for a younger generation and or for people who just aren't fortunate enough to have the money for a larger car. Lane-keeping assist, radar cruise, blind-spot monitoring w/ rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision alert with AEB, parking sensors, and pedestrian detection can help reduce driver fatigue, improve confidence (typically), and can intervene when a driver cannot react quickly enough. It's more than just a gimmick and can help save lives while reducing crashes while keeping the driver alert. What's bad about cars being safer and helping keep a driver notified of their surroundings better than they could themselves?
@lunisce5 жыл бұрын
@@Jenna_ The more "safety tech" you add, the more people rely on them, and the worse drivers they become. If people aren't fully aware of the road they're driving on to react quickly enough to what's coming their way, they shouldn't be driving
@Jenna_5 жыл бұрын
lunisce Evidence...? There’s evidence in favor of safety tech being added, from the IIHS to independent researchers. You’re generalizing an awful lot to make a case against safety systems being implemented. You’re not a perfect driver, neither am I. However, if it’s pitch dark out and a deer leaps out in front of your car at the last second, chances are, no matter how alert and aware you are, you probably won’t react quickly enough. Radar and sensors on a car can simply reach faster and more effectively than a human. You can say that it “makes people rely on it more, which makes for worse drivers” when in reality, it’s just assisting them. I’m not saying the systems are perfect or that they’re fault-proof, because they’re not. However, they have their place in cars for a reason. Safety.
@lunisce5 жыл бұрын
@@Jenna_ There is research for safety tech, and there's research against safety tech. There is research done that shows that drivers with vehicles that have blind-spot monitoring don't physically check their blind spots as often when changing lanes. What happens when this system fails? And then there's the nonsense you see constantly with Tesla drivers completely asleep behind the wheel on the highway. "Safety" systems are systems, and systems fail. If you want to place your life in the hands of a computer, and in the hands of other drivers who are less attentive to the road because of their increased reliance on computers, you do you.

All they ever talk about with cars these days is safety tech, but nobody mentions the overall structure. New vehicles are rather flimsy and full of plastic. This with a manual is definitely the way to go. Don't see many manual trims in this new age.

That´s what I´ve been saying... these are great inexpensive vehicles with MANUAL trans. People are just TOO DAMN LAZY to drive stick shift in 2020.

That's an incredibly stupid comparison. You mean a luxury SUV has more features than one of the cheapest cars available? I'm shocked...

$14,000 is a great deal, but please buy an extended powertrain warranty. After your warranty expires just keep up with all the maintenance and the car will be ok.

pannfilo lopez you need to change the transmission fluid every 25k-30k miles. If you do that they wont go out prematurely

definitely go for the manual version of this car, DO NOT go for the CVT. CVTs in general are problematic but Nissans are easily the worst out of all car manufacturers

Mitsubishi, Subaru, Suzuki, uses the exact same JATCO CVT transmission and have way less documented evidence of premature CVT failure. Its all in the programming, low curb weight, low hp/torque. The Mitsubishi Mirage is a perfect example, INVECS III programming, 2000lbs, only 78 hp/torque. The lower the less stress.
@bernlin20004 жыл бұрын
I.e. can't be revving or accelerating much with a CVT in a heavy car (I think my 2016 versa note is about 2700 pounds)
@kylemas20054 жыл бұрын
@@bernlin2000 stay on top of OEM FLUID CHANGES every 30k miles. its critical to hit 150k miles
@kylemas20054 жыл бұрын
@John Burket After a little deeper research you are correct, JATCO only made the traditional automatics for Subaru in the 90s thru 2000s. However Subaru does outsource some key CVT components from JATCO, as does many car manufacturers. I cant stress enough though that Mitsubishi and Suzuki makes much lighter and less powerful vehicles which is a big reason why they dont experience many of the issues Nissan does with the JATCO CVT7.

The Nissan Versa has ALWAYS been only 14k. It came with ‘steelies’, manual of auto trans with roll up fucking windows lol. I’d highly get a manual. Reasons being, it’s fun and the CVT trans that Nissan produces are absolute shit. Being a Nissan tech for a few years now I’ve seen a shit load of crap come and go.
@mohamadkhan98993 жыл бұрын
@@EpicDrew15 No we don’t take them apart, we uninstall the old one, and put in the remanufactured transmission and send the defective one back. Nissan CVT’s may have come a long way but their Rogues/Altima’s are still a huge culprit in transmission failure. Thank GOD they went away with the CVT for the new Pathfinder. Seems to me they’re on the right track.
