Great tutorial video for new owners and brush up for existing owners. The 2020 Forester is my 4th and by far the best in terms of safety, ride, economy, and driver friendly features that actually work. Bravo Subaru for listening to all our comments over the last ten years and incorporating the improvements. I enjoy driving again.

I want to say thank you for making this video! I just got a forester touring and the sales person did not know anything about the vehicle. They did not show me how to used anything in my vehicle. I even did not received my owner Manuel until I went back and asked about it! This is super informative and help me set up my new vehicle without the dealership help. Thank you again...😎🥰

Ashley Vo are you happy? I don’t know if I should go for the forester or Toyota RAV4? I’m leaning towards forester because I feel it’s a safe vehicle

Fabulous tutorial. After test driving 12 different SUVs, the Forester Limited was the perfect fit for me. I am an active senior and know I can go anywhere at any time with this vehicle. For me, the visibility and comfortable leather seats with lumbar support far exceeded other mainstream SUVs. My grandsons love that their hockey bags fit easily in the storage area. Oh, yes, and they love the rear heated seats.

Thank you for going through all of the buttons! I am 66 and have chosen the Forester as my retirement car because of the safety features that come standard on the vehicle. Can you talk about remote starter and listening to audio books from your iPad? Also, which model did you showcase in this tutorial?
@howtosubaru3 жыл бұрын
This is the Touring trim level. Audio books can be played via Bluetooth or 3.5.mm from your iPad. Remote start is available by having an actual remote starter installed, or by using the MySubaru app with a Starlink subscription to start it from your cell phone. The latter is available on all new models 2020+ with push button start.

My ‘17 Forester Sport has a vehicle maintenance screen where I can schedule reminders for oil changes, tire service, etc. Has Subaru done away with that feature or did you simply not address it? Otherwise, an excellent walkthrough. We’ll be buying a ‘21 here in Costa Rica in the fall. It will come with a Spanish language owner’s manual, so your video will be very helpful. Many thanks!

QUESTION 4 U: On my 2020 Forester the Wifi option has greyed out twice in a year each time necessitating a new Telematics unit. Now the Wifi is operating although it shuts itself off within 10 seconds of tuning it on. I called ATT to reconnect the signal and ATT is asking for the IMEI # and SIM # in order to connect to my ATT account. The dealer had to pull the whole unit to provide the IMEI # but cannot locate the SIM # so they sent me away with my WiFi not functioning. Help. BTW I do not subscribe to StarLink.

Mr. Munster; can you discuss little more information on the Auto Start/Stop feature; specifically, the "optimal" conditions required for it to work. I noticed that when the Auto Start/Stop is on, sometimes it won't work....the manual doesn't discuss why this happens...Thank you in advance for your reply...this video was more informative than the dealership

When your AC, heater or defroster is running I believe auto/stop/start wont work because the engine need to be running to power those system.
@howtosubaru3 жыл бұрын
This standard feature automatically shuts off the engine when the brake pedal is applied, the engine is warmed up and the vehicle completely stopped, such as at a stop light. Auto Start-Stop helps improve fuel economy, reduce emissions and eliminate idling noise. Releasing the brake pedal automatically restarts the engine. Certain conditions have to met in order for it to activate. You have to hit 15 mph, defrost can't be on, it won't stay active in stop and go traffic if your speed doesn't get high enough, the car has to be fully warmed up, and if the grade of the road is too steep it won't engage.

Hi I have forest 2019 and blue light is blinking on windshield top left corner It never did I drove it parked turned off and then I saw the blue blinking light only when I close the car (locked) when unlocked it’s not blinking so I don’t want the battery to die and didn’t lock it.Can you help ?
@howtosubaru Жыл бұрын
It's theft deterrent. It's always done it, but you've never noticed it before. It's indicating the vehicle is locked and the alarm is armed.

Does the auto stop/start function stay off when you restart the car?
@howtosubaru3 жыл бұрын
No, it automatically defaults to on every time the ignition is cycled.
@dstorm77523 жыл бұрын
The autostop has to be turned off EVERY ignition cycle. It is an incredibly annoying "feature" and could even be dangerous by stranding drivers in turning lanes with engines off. Very dumb "feature"...

Is any way to disable Auto Start/Stop feature?
@howtosubaru4 жыл бұрын
It can be disabled each time the car is started by pressing the button on the dash. It's the one with the "A" with the arrow circling it.
@jerzybigosinski70654 жыл бұрын
@@howtosubaru Thank you Michael, I rather mean disable it permanently., so far it stops me from buying the car.
@howtosubaru4 жыл бұрын
You're going to find this on almost all new cars. The Jeep Wrangler even has it on all new models.
@tpolerex72824 жыл бұрын
Jerzy Bigosinski Is it really hard to push one button after starting a car? I’m sure that won’t be the only button, dial, switch, knob or screen you engage with during your drive. At least unlike the new Outback it is an easy to find hard button, where in that model you have to cycle through several screens to control it.
