Once these start popping up used I’m definitely interested, I wish the GT86 platform didn’t use the FA20. I’d rather daily drive a four door hatchback even though it’s FWD than a RWD coupe with an inefficient boxer.

The fa20 makes 205hp how is it inefficient
@ryanolson6794
@ryanolson6794 4 жыл бұрын
Whyunounderstand boxer motors aren’t the better option in terms of a daily driver, they’re inefficient as worse gas mileage than an in-line four and they’re not as reliable over a long term period.

I hear ya, man. I’ve been kinda preachy about it the past few years, but no one else in family really care for cars, except my grandfather, who I see maybe twice a year. It bugs the hell outta me that so many people in the US drive trucks and SUVs for no apparent reason. Mr. Mike Suburbanite dailies an F-150, while working a cozy office job? Why? For the $55K you spend on a truck, you could get a killer car. There’s so many good options out there in that range. I get that some of it stems from people that like trucks, but my issue is that most of it stems from ignorance regarding the market. I think as Americans we generally think of bigger vehicles as being safer (which can be true, actually) and more luxurious, which isn’t true. Not for what you pay for, not in most cases.

@@markf5314 Depends where you live I guess. Where I live, my state is suv and truck country. So lots of trucks. But most don’t just drive it around cause it’s a trend. Ford isn’t even making cars anymore. Just Broncos, super duty’s and suvs. The racing hobby isn’t dying off either, it’s dumb assholes ruining it for everyone and other states following California law on everything. I drive a 96 12 valve Cummins diesel and also got a 2020 corolla. My corolla I drive more, but my diesel is for hauling.

I don't have TE37SL money, but all in all, that would be a car I'd be happy to own. I'd probably use a set of RPF1s in gold or something similar to keep the budget a little lower maybe with a small 5-10mm spacer to keep that rubbing you mentioned away, and I would modify the induction system a little more while retaining the stock airbox (silicone hose leading to the throttle body to reduce heat soak in the plastic, velocity stack if it fit behind the air filter). Since I'm about details, I'd put a TRD oil cap, shift knob, and a SARD radiator cap for some added bling.

I daily the king of the street, the mighty Evo X. It is on a near stock tune with a 100% Group N spec set up and no interior other than door panels and dash which Group N mandates. Its also got a full livery and turboback exhaust and I must say, sometimes I think its not loud enough. Its such a great daily, and the most fun car i've ever driven and ive driven ALOT of sports cars. Perhaps you should make the Corolla full rally spec, which also maintains its street ability as all WRC cars must be road legal to compete, getting from one stage to the next. A livery and stripped and painted interior with a proper exhaust and supporting mods will truly make it a fun car. My Evo X is at about 360bhp and 3200lbs flat, its AMAZING for Manitoba winters and more than fast enough for summer. Crazy builds light the internet on fire so enough of this boring full interior looking like stock shiet especially with your Evo vs STi series c'mon

I really enjoy this balanced daily build, but I just feel like a Konig wheel would be much more appropriate for the price point. Those wheels are like 15% of the car's MSRP.

I have never liked Toyota cars, other than The Supra or the MR2, but love the colour combo of the Blue and Gold and I want one now.

Great job on the changes. I don't care for the gold wheels I'm more of a black wheel guy or silver Chrome but they hit a homerun with that Toyota Corolla redesign

Would love to see how a Progress rear anti-sway bar would do on the track with this setup.

I agree. I believe swaybar front and rear would help better, then stiffer shocks/springs.
