iRyde wait until the 30-40k mile mark when those cheap (but awesome looking) 1794 leather seats are peeling and revealing the black underside. Be especially careful around the base of the driver seat. Its inevitable, that outer edge which rubs against your ass while entering and exiting the truck will peel and fade in color. It will boil your blood that you paid a significant amount solely for those that beautiful interior and its falling apart long before anything else on your truck. I’m going to vent a little lol. I bought my 2015 Tundra SR5 4x4 quad Cab used with 27k miles. I couldn’t afford a brand new truck so I purchased this truck from a used car dealership in April of 2017. After 2yrs and 8 months, I have put 116k miles. Putting it at a total of 143k miles. I usually change the oil every 5k miles with full synthetic Mobil 1 and have replaced the transmission oil every 60k miles. Radiator flushes every 60k miles and diff fluid as needed. So far I’m impressed with the reliability, but disappointed with the performance. So I decided to install some upgrades to help with the responsiveness, and maybe release a few hidden pony’s without having to shell out major cash. I decided to install a Bully dog tuner, along with a S&B cold air intake. These two upgrades gave it a noticeably performance feel. The truck felt allot more responsive, and the sound coming off the cold air intake was actually pretty nice. I decided to replace the muffler with a Carven R series exhaust. Which made the truck sound amazing. I don’t quite believe in those full exhaust systems unless you are doing a true duel system along with performance headers. This isn’t something I felt like doing, mainly due to cost ($4K+) After performance. I decided to focus my efforts on adding some cosmetic upgrades. So I started with the wheels. I purchased some Fuel Hostage III 20” wheels with some 33” Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I had to do some inner fender trimming to get them to fit. The tire and wheel package made it look like a totally different truck. I then focus my efforts on the head and tail lights. I decided to replace them with the Spyder brand. I regret investing in these headlights. The glue that seals the headlights fails. Moisture eventually got inside. I got stuck looking at condensated lights 😒 I added a bed cover and some cheap eBay side steps. And of course a leveling kit. So with all this being said. As an experience Tundra owner that has averaged 43k miles a yr most of those miles being highway miles I’m somewhat disappointed in this 2020 model. Heated seats should have been a standard option long ago lol my wife’s 2008 Acura MDX has heated seats lol. Other then some minor changes this interior looks identical to my 2015 Tundra which is very disappointing. Under the hood of this model it made me a bit nauseous. Don’t get Me wrong I love the reliability, but to buy a new model 5yrs newer and see a small change in power train is very disappointing 🤦🏾♂️ I would have love to see 400 horses with a 10 speed transmission. This gas mileage is killing me lol. And last the rear part of the truck (really) You could have at least changed minor details within the tail lights smh. In my opinion this to me is just plain laziness. Tundra is a great truck but has fallen well behind in styling and performance. Kudos on the front end and shame on you for keeping everything else the same. I’d rather invest my money in more performance and suspension upgrades then to spend $50k on a truck that has had minimal changes. That’s my 2 cents 🤷🏾♂️

The tundra is 10 years behind all other trucks lol. I traded my tundra for a 19 f150 love it and I know it's not as reliable as a tundra but I'm not keeping it for 10 years anyways. I'd love to keep a tundra for 10 years but got sick of it very quick. And Trd pro amd doesn't have locker lol. More like Trd Show

The steering wheel and dash looks very dated and is 10 years behind the times. Toyota needs to hire a few designers from Audi and bring the dash up to date!!!

Is it possible to put a 60-90 gallon gas tank in the back?

This would be even better with the TRD turbocharger they discontinued a few years ago.

The supercharger is still available. It is a Magnuson supercharger and it is about 7K and it was always an aftermarket item. There are Toyota dealers that will still install it and give a 35k mile warranty with it.

There is a reason why TRD went away with their superchargers. Reliability. Can’t expect long term reliability on the engine, superchargers are hugely known for oil leaks. Magnuson Superchargers offer them as aftermarket products but Toyota does NOT warranty them. It is Magnuson that offers their limited warranty on their superchargers.

@@lokkstarproductions6918 Nice coincidence you posting about supercharger unreliability hours after The Fast Lane Truck posted re. a supercharged Tacoma with over 600,000 miles. :)
@lokkstarproductions69185 жыл бұрын
Sylvan Butler if you do some research you will see that superchargers are unreliable. One tundra with supercharger with 400k doesn’t mean all are like that. Do we know if it’s the original engine/ trans? Has it been remodeled and redone? The shop that i used to work at dyno performance vehicles, and yet we have not really seen any vehicles come back after 2-3 years with their superchargers still on. They always seemed to leak oil all over the internal superchargers and belts. In 2008 Toyota removed the TRD supercharger as an option. So from my personal experience, i don’t find it reliable. You can believe whatever you wish.

tundra is 24 inches longer than a sequioa-not the same. I appreciate you picked up on the drone noise, I added a different exhaust that had more throat than stock but a lot less drone than trd duals

Once Toyota matches their competitors in fit and finish including mileage and exteriors, they won't be able to be stopped. Toyota will clean up. Why can't the Toyota engineers make the Tundra's look as cool as the Tacoma's? Once the new generations come out with the engine updates and the new exteriors, i will finally retire my rusty ram and commit to a new truck.
