2020 TUNDRA ROAD TRIP! GFC Camper ...THEN THIS HAPPENS !!!

This Dude drove out to pick up the GFC - and unbelievable!
Frustrating that the prior models do not have a good fit for the 2020’s.... but GFC is working on a fix. Just for clarity- I brought this up prior to delivery, sent emails and pictures.. was told there would not be a problem, with reception or fit. Unfortunately test fitting their 2020 beforehand was overlooked. The engineering guys are scrambling to get this taken care of and may be able to have something before Summer if all works out!

Gfc makes a kit that changes the shark fin to low profile. Personally id remove it and seal the hole somehow vs having to buy a camper that sticks up farther over the cab just for a piece of plastic. Or just temporarily modify the existing one. Put a new one on if you sell. Radio signal is blocked by the gfc anyway. I'd have removed the shark fin and temporarily taped over the hole before I left empty handed. Ridiculous.

Bozeman's gorgeous. I know I'm on the home stretch when I get there. There's a killer hole-in-the wall chicken joint on the main drag when you pick your camper up. I sure wish the auto manufacturers would stop ruining the integrity of their roofs with antennas.

Brian Duran You should be good to go. This only affected the change to a 2020 model Tundra- where Toyota put the fin on top. That being said -They had a 2020 model there they should have checked the fit before my driving all that way. GFC Has stated they may have one ready to go for me by June. 🤞🏽

I would be pissed off..Did they know you had a 2020 with the antenna on top..What a waste of your time..Just ordered one for my 2020..And they know my year.What was the outcome..Did you get a GFC that fit?

See the follow up kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGLQpWiOndiZY9k But yes, I asked and sent pictures to double and triple check clarifying it was a ‘20 and it now has a fin. Upon arriving -after their saying it was going to be fine- Unfortunately it was just too close to the fin for them to feel like releasing it. The right call, although yep- a big let down. They did speed up the delivery date for the new model and I received the gfc about 6 months later. Got to travel a bit and have some fun was the side “benefit” :)

John G yeah it was a wasted trip in terms of time and $. Apologies were received and we were moved up in the build time for the newer design. Received/installed it in Oct. so it eventually worked out.
