I have said it before, Philo brings so much to the commentary, it gives it great depth. love hearing his take on the game, but would rather see him challenging for the lead.

This is a big problem in disc golf. Some players break the rules obviously intentionally, relying the card mates not to call them out. It is like pissing in a friends pocket. I wonder if they ever gonna get this sorted out? I think this really holds disc golf back in becoming a serious sport.
@discgolfdetails98894 жыл бұрын
@@Pullapelle The way of the future is smaller pro targets then having that progress over the next two decades to most courses when they need replacing. No more boring 25 footers. Create some drama. Putting is super easy compared to any other real professional sports. Yes that was a foot fault BUT I doubt Chris knew nor can the playing competitors tell since it's so close. I don't think Chris is foot faulting on purpose. I would also make the circle 15 meters to eliminate some of this.

29:33 that ground play with whatever GG threw was insane. I've never seen a disc do that. Backspin roller?? 😱
@acall924 жыл бұрын
I think that’s what a skip shot looks like with GG power
@kimmomatikainen18434 жыл бұрын
I throw that type of shot when I need a disc to go around a corner, but I don't want big skip or distance. Let's say around a corner and only for maybe 60 80 ft. It has the same idea as a skip shot, but you throw the disc very vertically, more hyzer than spike hyzer angle. The straighter (standing up) it is the faster it stops. I throw it usually so that the disc is basically upwards/standing up and put a lot of spin. It curls very quickly to left (from backhand throw) and has a backspin so it doesn't go far. GG had more hyzer angle so it had a normal skip first and then it stood up and backspin stopped it. I guess the biggest danger is griplock because that throw needs to be very low.

I thought and said the exact same thing to my coworker just now. I used to keep a minimum of 5 go-to Bosses in different plastics in my bag before i started throwing primarily Kastaplast. Now ill keep just 2 of my main Bosses in the bag for those "just in case i NEED THE BOSS" throws that i might not feel confident enough to get done with a Kastaplast disc.

The Dickerson foot fault is exactly why jump putts need to be banned! It IS a big advantage to leave the ground before releasing the disc and it IS nearly impossible to catch it in person without a video replay, and even if you did I am sure the card would not support all but the most obvious infractions.
@jonijarkko1234 жыл бұрын
9:46 His foot clearly came off the ground before the disc released from his hand if you watch it frame by frame.

Dickerson and Conrad both on their jump putts clearly release the disc before their foot hits the ground, which I consider totally legal. Paul U.....? 😜

Wait I thought he had to just release it before his left foot hits the ground?
@summitcarpetcare66954 жыл бұрын
Guess you all don't understand what a fault is on jump or step putt. Dickerson definitely did not commit a foot fault. Outside of 30 feet you can step or jump. Inside "the circle" , 30 feet or less you can not step or jump. Actually have to maintain balance.
@SlightlyOverripeAvocado4 жыл бұрын
Hey Ian, definitely figure out that putting percentage per foot stat! I'd alsolove to know how closely throw speed correlates to overall distance with modern players. Now that you guys are collecting lots of speeds & distances it would be interesting to know! They had two very different flight paths but Alex and Chris went ~ the same distance on 12 with Alex throwing 11 mph slower.

At the cost of a penalty stroke.
@billycake58304 жыл бұрын
@@DnBGolf The penalty stroke applies because he went OB. He doesn't have an additional penalty stroke because he takes it back, right? No one would take a second penalty stroke to move 20 feet back, they'd just throw it there

Correct, the rules for OB relief are 1 meter perpendicular to the OB line from where you went out, or straight back on a line away from the basket from where you went out.

One suggestion is to refer to players by what it says on the card. It becomes hard for new viewers to know who you are talking about when you say "Chris" etc.
@Chris.Davies4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, CCDG. Great as always. Philo with the correct comment about step-putting: it is a very questionable form to adopt. It is not in keeping with the self-refereed nature of the game, because it asks too much of your cardmates. So, don't do it.
