Damn, the quality of the coverage is amazing. Commentary is amazing, the information relayed in the overlay is fantastic, and the camera work/editing is really good. This is on par with Jomez! Love it!

My Brother and I once drove a little over an hour out of our way to play Winthrop. Got there only to find out that it was homecoming weekend and the course was closed. We were only able to play Holes 1, 17, and 18. Someday I will make it back!

The course looks a lot less gimmicky than last year. No more dumb double/double mando's or a double mando in the middle of a field, or artificial islands on the fairway. It looks a lot cleaner and it's way easier to watch on video. Last year I had no idea where they needed to go sometime and when they made a shot I had to wait for the commentary to tell me if it was in or out.

17 is the dumbest hole in major disc golf. The sport has outgrown Winthrop and the designers know it. There are so many gimmicks on this course.

Some great holes on the front , but overall, not an overly enjoyable course to watch these guys play. 17 is just a poor decision with the re-tees. Seen several USDGC's and still can't understand in/out of bounds on 11 with all those stakes. There are a ton of better courses to have this championship on, but great coverage and commentary as always.

Its not about the course its about the investment innova and the Duvall's can make into the tournament. You can't move the usdgc until you find someone else who is willing and able to dump that much money into the tournament (this is true of every big event BTW)

I'll never understand the attention and reverence paid to such a gimmicky course. I started hating this course when JonnyE McCray blew up his championship run here a few years ago. This place is just so stupid. I think I'm done watching this fiasco. No more for me.

it's definitely improved a little over last year, with the removal of some of the most gimmicky, bad course design elements I've ever seen, but it's still just a pretty objectively bad course in terms of design. I've skipped the vast majority of this tournament over the past 5 years or so just cause it's so painful to watch. Same with the Eureka Lake course at Ledgestone.

@reelkena The way I see it (and many others see it this way) is that skill takes a back seat to LUCK and RANDOM CHANCE at Winthrop.... Sure, I'm being a dick about it but the tournament directors are being dicks about setting up the course for chance, not skill. Bad luck on one unreasonable hole can eliminate the best of players. Done. Fail. Sure accuracy should be part of the game. Who thinks JohnE and James are inaccurate throwers? They are among the best. All it takes is a few gusts of wind for your 2 minutes on #17 and you just lost SIX strokes to the field. That's unreasonable. Dicks love their fake drama.
