When the bird clock sings as you show the Burgess bird book for children! Teaching kids animal facts is so rewarding for them and develops empathy for animals at an early age.

What a beautiful collection of books and a beautiful comprehensive, well rounded curriculum. The way you set it up on the table and went through it was really helpful for me. When I look at all the CM curriculum I get overwhelmed, lost and leave for another day lol

Would you show your daily schedule is like. How you plan out how much you're reading per day? What books assigned per day?

Just found your channel and I’m LOVING how true CM you are!!! I only know one other channel that I also recently found maybe a month or so ago Full of Wonder Momma who is also using the CMEC that’s how I found you searching CMEC videos😀 I’m very torn this year it’s our 5th year homeschooling (my son will be 12 in sept.) fell in love with CM and started with Simply Charlotte Mason and have always used their curriculum but over the years I found myself feeling am I doing enough started adding “CM” inspired curriculum as supplement but was feeling like this is not the point of CM but he was really liking some of the other curriculum and I would do a themed basket every now and then but like I said I was feeling like I was not staying true to the style an everything was pulling me back to where I started an one of Full of wonder mommas videos came up basically saying the same things I was going through it was God giving me what I needed and just like your last 2 videos he put it right in my face lol I was going to do ambleside this year but then diving back into everything again I have on or from CM I’m realizing CMEC or a gentle feast would be the best fit with how the history cycle is because I’m realizing SCM starts with ancient history and we haven’t study our country yet and that’s where we should have started 🤦🏼♀️ lol I keep leaning more towards CMEC but I wasn’t sure if there was any type of commitment I heard there was when it comes to the form meetings but I’m not 100% the site said they are voluntary but I could be wrong there too lol I’ve never been so confused and excited to plan a year 😂 I’m actually more excited than any other school year and I love planning so that’s been such a great surprise and feeling an I’m so excited to dive deep in Charlotte’s ways!! It’s such a blessing I found your channel it’s been really helpful!!! Hope you are having a fantastic day an I can’t wait for more videos 😊 sorry so long I got into it lol

Hi! I love your videos but you use a lot of acronyms so as a new homeschooling mom, I have almost no clue what you mean by those. I’m guessing most are organizations since you mention “guidelines”. Could you possibly reference what the acronyms are from the get go so it’s easier to follow? Thanks! You are awesome at what you do for your girls.

Does this program include a lesson guide? Also , seems like a lot of read alouds? My son is 6 and this is my second year homeschooling and I’m very interested in learning what charlotte mason style homeschooling is however my son is so hands on and busy that I fear it wouldn’t keep him interested? Would love to see how you teach a lesson!

Is the grammar for 1st grade a cmec thing or just your preference? I’m just curious since grammar doesn’t start until age 9/10. :)

Okay so I’m late to the game with the CMEC, we just signed up two days ago. 🤣🤦🏻♀️ But I already had planned out similar things from Ambleside. I’m watching their videos on narration and I have a question that hasn’t been covered yet. My son is also in form 1B, do you write down their narrations after every single reading? Bible, Geography, fables, nature, literature, etc? I’m trying to figure out if it’s an every subject thing. Thanks!

How much can you expect to pay for all the books needed? It doesn’t have much information online unless you become a member.

Thank you so much for making this Larissa! I have a question Would you still recommend “Dash to learning” now that you invested in the CMEC?

Thanks for the video Really good resources, thanks for introducing CMEC. But I am wondering, what does your homeschool day look like? How much time in a day would you take to complete all of this? And what about your younger one? I am new to homeschooling and I have kids below 6. When you say 6 year old, do you mean complete 6 years by aug 31? My kid would be 6 by late December so should he start form 1b next year?

Incase you didn't know the handbook of nature is now in colour, it's divided into 8 smaller books so that it is more easily transported into nature.

Hi Larissa, great selection. I can see you put much time, research, and money into all these books. What are your long term goals for your daughters? I'm curious why such a full and rigorous massive selection for a 6year old? I think it's amazing to set such standards, only I wonder why? How do you find the time to teach so much and still manage a home? Will you be doing all these subjects in 1 day? It seems exhaustive for both mom and 1st grader. Maybe I'm a simpleton, but GOD teaches the most important knowledge is knowledge of GOD. A mom might see this video and think homeschooling is unattainable because I don't know many moms that would undertake this massive amount for a young child in their 1st year. Not trying to say you are doing anything wrong at all, I'm sure you manage well.

What she is showing here is an entire year of curriculum. You don't use every book every day. At the age she is speaking on, you wouldn't do every subject every day. It's also parent reading aloud to the child at age 6. Most of what the child is doing is soaking in the knowledge and (narrating back) expressing that she understood the information. Lots of discussions on the subjects even outside of "school time." At public school a child would learn about genres by reading short, possibly boring or unremarkable books that are crammed with random vocab words to memorize followed by a worksheet to prove comprehension. Then a vocabulary worksheet. After that moving on to the next subject, followed by more worksheets. This happens for 7 hours, daily. With this style of teaching the language is rich, the books are interesting, the stories are delightful, even magical. When your child doesn't understand a word, they ask you what it means. Thus a new vocabulary word is formed in the mind. You are reading from all genres and naturally inferring the difference. It might look hard or rigorous, but our 2 year olds can learn to manage an electronic device without help, our 7 year olds can figure out how to play a video game without help, then they can do this too.

Thank you for sharing! I already have our school year planned out, we will be doing the playful pioneers with my first and second grader but now I’m wishing I would have known about the CMEC sooner! I will be doing more research and see if it will be a fit for our future years! And what’s a bird clock? I need one! 🪶
