As an ex-M2C owner and one who had a reservation on a brand new M2 I decided to test drive an A110 just for giggles. M2 order was cancelled and I'm picking up a new A110S next weekend. Heck I might regret it but life is too short :)

Not going to lie Tim, I really do like that cadburys milk configuration! Also appreciate your w@nk3ry commentary you made at 9:35 of you explaining the adjustment of the angle you can make with the amount of throttle application and steering inputs. Would be cool to see you review the current generation Mazda MX-5 2.0 and the upcoming Toyota GR 86 too👌Speaking of Japan, I like your T-shirt of a westernised Daruma!

Why do you prefer a lumpy keyfob to Renault / Alpine's slim keypad? You can keep it in your pocket without ruining the profile of your jeans / shorts / trousers, thus keeping that space / gap ahead of the gear buttons for your phone

Where's the t shirt from Tim?

It's from Uni Qlo - I bought it in Kyoto in early 2016, they had a collection of Japanese-themed t-shirts created by western artists. I think it was only on sale in Japan, but it's cool! Should probably wash it.

Great review Tim! Your sense of dirty humour reminds me of the american stand-up comedian Louis C.K. 😂I heard from the grapevine that Alpine went solely for the dual clutch transmission because it was allegedly 'lighter' than the manual equivalent. But I can't help but think that for a lightweight+modest powered sportscar that doesn't obsess on Nurburgring laptimes, this A110 would've drawn more potential buyers in if it was also offered by a manual - just for that added engagement to the driving experience. Although I do understand that from the manufacturer's perspective, these sportscars are in a niche market and that they're very hard to profit out of.

I've just bought one and I felt the same about missing a manual, but the paddles are brilliant - so fast and engaging - I don't think I'll miss a manual box at all.

Bonjour Monsieur Tim J'ai apprécié la gaufre 👍🏻 I love the fact that these exist! Sadly not for me, but it would make a great 5th car 👀 One of the few cars I’d take in white. Focal mid-bass units are made of hemp btw 🤓 I was disappointed by the lack of a mum joke, related to all the sucking noises 🧐 I spotted you in the 110 and the purple looked extremely lustrous 👀

Good nonsense, as always. Now, I need to apologise for being a bad subscriber; I haven't been adding my insightful, and often hilarious comments recently. In my defence, I'm just plain lazy. I really like the A110, and did consider it when looking at a replacement for my 981 Cayman, but you pursuaded me to buy an F-Type, which I regret, and I'm now thinking of buying a Boxster GTS 4.0. There's nothing wrong with the Jag, in fact it's very good, I just feel it's a bit too wide on the road. Damn, I can't make my mind up! I recently did a road trip to The Lake District in my GR Yaris (did I ever mention that?) and that also gets a lot of postive responses from other road users, thumbs up, stopping and asking "is it really that good", etc. I don't regret buying the Toyota at all, your infulence there was spot on. Right, off to get some lunch, for some reason I feel like having snails today?!

Shame on you for your lackadaisical attitude TRDS comments! I’d love a go in a GRY! Have you REALLY got one? We have a manual GTS 4.0 Cayman and it’s amazing! So responsive and pure, which is rare these days. Still feels narrow enough around the Lakes, when we where there two weeks ago. Was a tad sketchy around Buttermere with busses and a massive tractors though 🤣 The very first TRDS video features a GTS 4.0 👀

@@DontPanicDear I really do have a GR Yaris pure white circuit pack (with a GR04 plate too, sorry). 0% finance made it an easy choice. I really also have an F-Type, I did have a 981 Cayman, and I'm seriously considering a GTS 4.0 (although it would be PDK, sorry). The Lakes doesn't really offer decent driving roads, does it?! Too narrow and too many speed cameras. Actually Harry Metcalfe came to the same conclusion. I managed a quick blast on the Ambleside to Conniston road, until I caught up with a caravan, a bus, and an articlated wagon full of rocks. I have come to the conclusion that not much beats a Porsche, even Shmee said that the GT4 is better than most supercars due to its size and performance. First world problems! :)

@@michaeleaton5053 A PDK 4.0 GTS and a GRY will be an amazing two car garage 😃 Go for one test drive and you’ll be hooked 🤓 My friend is a racing driver and he has always sworn a Cayman is the best road car. He’s had several going back to 06. I know! What was Harry thinking attempting THAT road in an SLR 👀 Yup, mostly rubbish for driving up there. Imagine swapping this engine for an amg 2.0 litres from the A35 or even better going for the 421 bhp A45s engine ... What can an engine like that do in such a light car ?!!
@thibaudduhamel25813 жыл бұрын
Well if you ever see an Alpine up close you’ll ser it’s very (very) small in the engine area. I’m pretty sure there won’t be any space for a bigger engine. Plus, let’s face it, the Alpine is fun enough as it is. I had the opportunity to drive my father’s 110 (and later his 110 S) in anger in the swiss alps, and it’s one of the best experiences i’ve ever had. Just like in the video, this car just makes you smile. I had a weird grin on my face the whole way through. I feel that more power and more weight wouldn’t mesh with the whole design concept of the car.
@adamrawlings67892 жыл бұрын
Why would you want a regular key-fob thing? These flat 'key' keyless entry things are excellent, and don't wreck your slimline jeans profile. This car is a good advert for not breaking the law and using your phone whilst driving, n'es pa?
